Not Responding And Click On Link On Webpage Twice Or More?
Nov 4, 2006
Whenever I surf the net and click on a link on a webpage twice or more, windows will not respond. The other websites that I open all do not respnd too.Previously I do not have this problem,Only recently then I encounter such a problem. Then I ve to restart internet explorer all over again and all opened websites were gone just like this.It is very frustrating!May i know what went wrong?I am using windows XP Pro serv pack 2 and running on Intel pentium 3 processor,801 MHz,256MB of ram.
Just got this starting today...'click to run an active x control on this webpage'. I get it on a site that I frequent a lot. All it is tryng to do is play a song that is part of the person's avatar, but starting today it comes up EVERY time there is an avatar with music. The site is a blog.Running xp pro sp2. I.E.6.
I am getting this message every time I open a new browser window in Internet Explorer 7. A dialog box pops up and asks me "Click to run an Active X control on this webpage?" I have to click OK in order to use the browser. I have Windows XP Pro. This just started in the last 2 days. I have only had the computer about a week and am not familiar with XP yet. Where do I go to reset to automatically run active X control on the webpage so the box will quit popping up?
XP, HP 515N: When I click on a link in email, all of a suddcn my desktop comes on and I can't get the link. This happens with ALL links I click on. I've tried turning off the popup blocker, but that doesn't always solve the problem. My antivirus software doesn't show any viruses.
when i have a web page up with an address link to click, or even on yahoo, if someone sends me a link, it wont open when i click on it, i have to copy and paste the link to my address bar and then press go, to get to it, is there a way I can fix this problem, it used to work... windpws xp home edition.
I have a problem with my windowXP and IE7. I donot know what it is. After using the computer for a few hours, I cannot make a right click on any link in the IE7. Sometimes I cannot right click on the taskbar either. It is even worst when I cannot open any new console window i.e cannot open new window explorer, cannot open chat log. Has anyone ever got the same problem? And does anyone know how to solve it. Note that I have just reinstalled my Window a few days ago. However, after installing since the svchost runs continuously, I followed some guides on the net to unregister/register some services. Not sure, if it causes problem or not but at least it can stop svchost from running continuously.
I sent a similar post the other day and got no response. Briefly, I click on a link and just get a "chunk" sound, nothing comes up. With my ear to the speaker, it sounds more like, "sshOOH!". Everything else seems to work OK.
For some reason today I now have to click several times with the mouse on a link or heading before the page will open or redirect with my browser. I thought at first it was just Firefox but I have the same problem with IE7. Ihave to click several times for just about everything before anything happens. Some thoughts would bwe appreciated
Outlook Express sometimes freezes when I click on a hotlink in a message and does not open the browser. My Internet Explorer 7 browser often freezes and has to be shut down. Usually this happens when a second window or tab is open. I also have Firefox and it will also occasionally say an error has occured and it has to shut down. If more than one Word XP file is open, both will just disapear when you click on one in the bottom tray. And for the first time ever the other day Adobe Photoshop gave a message that an error had occured and it shut down.
Go to Download Link a file any website i'm getting some hang time and then an error. I have downloads enabled in the tools internet options security tab menu and am unsure why i'm getting this problem.
Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, Dell Dimension 2400. I can no longer open any e-mail that is sent to me with a link in it to view further information. All I get is a large, blank, white screen. Not sure what I have done. And, on another note, I have lost the bar at the bottom of the computer that shows you, with green bars in a small rectangle, when a site is loading. I have tried system restore but am told that no changes have been made to my computer.
we were using the computer last night all was normal (running very smoothe & fast) get up this morning and turn on the computer log into windows. come upto the desktop click in IE and nothing happens. so i look in the system tray and nothing but the clock is there. weird i think to myself. so i click on start and it doesnt come up, its liek the computers response tme is cut by 99.9%. finally after about 15 minutes start window pops up. i click on control panel (to get to admn tool >event viewer) and after i click on control panel the start window disappears adn nothing ever happens. i religiously run spyblaster , adaware , spybot search&destroy, registry mechanic , and check windows update everyday. i run panda for AV program and it is set to auto update.
I really need a help here. About two days ago I was trying to improve the speed of my system. I think I have delete an important file. My curent problem is that When I rightclick a desktop icons I only get an hour glass, the system stops responding to any thing. The only way out of it it to either log off or shut down and restart. When I open the recycle bin though it appears full on the desktop icon I could not see any item on it.If I try do delete, move this folder or any of the command on the left file/folder task pane I only get hour glass. The only way out of it is ctrl+alt+del, task manager (program not responding) end task.
Recently my Outlook 2003 will not link. If there is a link in the email to a URL when I click on it I get the following error message. "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" I am logged on as the admin, Running Norton Systemworks with AntiVirus. I also have Firefox installed but not running. Control-click from Word will also not work - and gives the same error message

I can surf the net fine except for one site. I have been to the site numerous times, and i have my email through the site (www.triadpictures.com), but now i can no longer access the site or my email. I pretty much have no acces to the triad server. I need this fixed, is there anyway?
I must have accidentally hit some button. Now I cannot type anything into a web page. I can type in on the addresses bar, Yahoo, and Google, but when a web page appears below which has a block for info, nothing happens when I click in the area where my curser is hovering. This happened all at once. I have done two different virus scans and put in a backup drive and even another keyboard. All the same results. The problem must be in some setting. I am not real experienced in computer repair but could this be a BIOS setting or something similar that was corrupted somehow?
FIREFOX 3.6.3,WINDOWSXP SP3,Why is it i can see it if i typehttp://localhost/index.html but i cant see it if i load it from http://www.ronuk.org ??windows on C://ronuk.org on E://i alway used to see it on C://???
When i'm on the internet, word, media player and basically every other program and I hit F1 for help (the yellow question mark thingy) the help doesn't work at all. It says:This program cannot display the webpage. You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address.Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.
For a reason unknown to me, when I visit some webpages, instead of seeing some of the jpg or gif images that make up parts of a webpage I see the image box and a little red "x". Previously I have had no issues when I went to these pages, all the images would be visible. I have not intentionally changed any security settings, and dropping my firewall or Microsoft Antispyware does not seem to make a difference. I even dropped my security settings, but nothing. I have tried right clicking and then selecting "show picture" but with no positive results.
Instead of typing http://www.anysite.com you can just type anysite then press ctrl+return and it automatically puts in the http:// and the .comyahoo + "ctrl+return" = http://www.yahoo.com
I have been getting this msg "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when trying to connect to a web site (q8yat.net). I tried Firefox & IE7. I have access to all other websites? I used to have access to the web site previously but all of a sudden, no more access? can someone help me out plz?PS: I tried many things but didn't work ( no access when starting it in safe mode too)
After reboot, on I.E. I keep getting the following error message:"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" but if I go to address bar, & select my Home page, it WILL display. This does NOT happen on Firefox??
when looking at a webpage with an embedded avi, the avi d/l's, then only sound plays. When I attempt to view the file in the temp internet files folder, it only plays sound, and properties (in media player) says audio file. When I copy the same file to another folder (somewhere outside temp int folder) and play the file, it plays the audio and video like it should (and properties in media player says audio video). What gives? I've checked in the browser settings and its set to play videos on webpages, and I've tried checking play by extension (as opposed to content) as well. The media player is only 9 (yes, I'll upgrade), but I know that's not the problem because I've looked at the same site with a different computer (but not xp) and it works fine.
i have a wireless network set up around my house and i have 2 desktops connected and one laptop connected to this network one fo the desktops and the laptop are connected fine and run the internet perfectly but the other desktop says it is connected to the network but will not open ANY webpage, will not connect to recive emails or any thing like that. I have called the makers of the wirless networking equitment about 10 times and one the last try they got me to go into command prompt and type "ipconfig" which came up with my IP address and it starts with "169" where as the other desktop and the laptop both have IP addresses starting with "192" so they said that my IP address was dodgey and this was a microsoft problem. i was wondering if any one knows any ways of changing my IP address so that it will start with "192" and will let me be able to connect with my wireless network.
I am running XP Pro on a Dell Latitude D620. I have just started to get the following error message Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I have tried the usual stuff it won't display any page.
