Hi. My problem is similar to this one here
http://forums.cnet.com/5208-12546_102-0.html?threadID=295044
Except I am not running Vista and don't have AOL on there.
Also, I don't think my drive is actually full, or if it is, it's because of something that Sonic or Windows did.
I have a bunch of computers. This Dell laptop, Inspiron E1505, is one I primarily use to watch DVD's or online shows. There were a lot of programs installed, because I used to use it regularly, and then I loaned it to someone for about a year. It had very few files in terms of documents, pictures, music, or videos, because I had cleaned all that out before I loaned it to her, and I got a new laptop, and so only use this one to watch DVD's. Also, I should mention it has a fairly new DVD recorder because the old one died a few months back.
Sometimes I use this laptop to burn or copy disks, which is what I have been doing the past two days, using the program Sonic Digital Media LE v7, which came preinstalled. It was working fine copying dvd's (legal copies of ones I recorded myself) until yesterday, when it suddenly said that my hard drive was full and to free up "0 kb" in order to proceed.
When I close the program after this error, it gives me three crash messages (every time).
First one says MediaHub.exe application error.
The instruction at "0x0035afd0" reference memory at "0x35171ae8". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program."
The next error is almost exactly the same but gives all the numbers as 0x00000000.
The third error is Microsoft Visual C++ RUntime Library Runtime Error! program: mediahub.exe
R6025 - pure virtual function call.
At first, rebooting helped this problem, but then I got the error again. So I ran disk cleanup. It took a really long time and then the pc turned itself off. I turned it back on and it said that the pc had overheated because the fan vents were blocked. The vent is on the bottom, and was very dirty (possibly because my friend was a heavy smoker), so I wiped it off with a damp napkin. I rebooted and ran disk cleanup again. I was able to copy disks again until it gave me the error again. Every time I go to the C drive and check the disk free space, it gives me very little there, but I know that it's not because of any files I have on there.
Anyway, I also uninstalled all of the unimportant programs and deleted any extra files I could find. I want to run check disk, but I got an error message and it said it would run it next time I rebooted (that didn't help and check disk still didn't run, and still wouldn't run next time I tried it). I tried to run disk defragmenter, but it said I only had 5% hard drive space left and it needs 15%. I ran it anyway, and it seemed to work, and I was able to copy more disks.
Now I am getting that error message again.
I am running disk cleanup again, compressing old files, so we'll see if that works. I haven't tried System Restore yet, will try that one next. I really would rather not reinstall Windows.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Suzanne Lanoue

I recently had a CD burner installed in this current computer, the associated software is Nero Express and works very well. I was told that I could upgrade my Nero 5 software, which is on another computer CD burner. I un-installed Nero 5 and upgraded to Nero Express and got all sorts of problems, example - all the desktop icons disappeared and I could only get programmes from the taskbar. So I un-installed Nero Express and re-installed Nero 5. This resulted in Windows 2000 Pro. re-booting itself continually. Up to the present time no-one has been able to provide me with a solution. Office 2000 Pro. is my choice for emails and all office work. Other programmes that I used were Spybot S.& D., Microsoft Anti-spyware Beta and A.V.G. Contacting the Nero site has proved to be an exercise in futility, so here I am asking for help. The start-up process works alright as far as 'Setting up Network Connections' and then re-boots.

Iam using Nero6 to encode and burn movies to DVDs. I have finally got it all working. But the encoding part takes about 3 hours for some movies and the subsequent burning takes only about 15 min / movie. Is it possible to queue the encoding process for, say, three movies and save the separate encodings to image files for later burning to three DVDs? I can do this for one movie but I cannot figure out how to queue them. My idea is to set this up so the computer can work overnight.

When I'm burning DVD-s with nero the computer is very slow!I mean like the mouse even is lagging (i'm not sure if that is the right word ), when I click on an icon the indication (when it gets blue or something) is coming after a second or more.If winamp is playing a song, it starts drawling (the same happens when i click on thumbnail veiw of a movie on a dvd!)!
When i try to start a program, or open a folder the buffer (that nero shows) is at 100% and the folder opens after a 15-20s!When i open more than one program, the buffer drops to 50% and the computer is even slower! When the burning ends everything is ok..the computer is behaving normal! What could be the problem!I don't think it's from the hardware (1 GB Ram, Athlon 64 (3200+), 128MB Video)! Now i'm scanning with mcafee 2008 and after that i'll run ad-aware and spybot!

I tried to install my old Nero w/full lic key but it wouldn't.
Giving up the idea... I proceeded to remove every file with Ahead Or Nero in it. Used jv 16 Power tools to remove left overs. Nothing now shows in jv16 or search of all files & folders (with hidden & system showing). Ran CCleaner including other MRUs etc.

I recently downloaded loads of music video's with a view to burning them onto DVD using my Nero 7 DVD Burning Programes. I had 75% free space on my hard drive at that time. Many of these video's were flv format so I had to download and install a flv to mpg video converter programme. After converting the video's from flv to mpg so that Nero would accept them and making up the music video compilation using Nero 7 I noticed that I had only 4% free space left on my hard drive. So I couldn't get on with the second compilation. Nero told me I needed more hard disc space. I then deleted all the music video's I no longer needed, both the flv versions and the converted mpg versions

Some of my drive letters have been changed except my hard disks' drive letters, I have double SmartMedia and double CompactFlash I/II icons in My Computer, my CD-ROM icon is incorrectly associated with the CompactFlash I/II name in My Computer, my DVD-ROM icon is no longer visible in My Computer, and I can't assign drive letter F to my DVD-ROM drive in Disk Management because it's being used by CompactFlash I/II, though it's not listed there; all problems after uninstalling Nero DiscSpeed. Note: My CD-ROM and DVD-ROM are listed in Device Manager without warning icons. I've tried Doug Knox's CD-DVD Fix tool and deleted the LowerFilters registry entry.

First of all, thanks for what looks like a great forum, and thanks for looking at my problem here. I installed an AOpen DVD RW in my Dell Dimension 3000 last night, and I also installed the included Nero 7 software. I tried to watch a DVD that was done in Dolby surround and I had no audio. Nero Prompted me that I needed to install an upgrade which I proceeded to do. I managed to download and install those and the Codec Detective doesn't give me that message any more. It just lists all of the installed codecs.

I have been using my home built computer for about 3 months. I am using WinXP Pro. My CD-RW drive hasn't been seen as a CD burner. In My Computer, the CD drive comes up as "CD Drive (D: )". When I try to drag and drop files in the Windows Explorer window and then click "Burn to CD", it says there is no CD-RW drive. But when I use Nero 5, it works fine.
What is the problem and what do I do to fix it? (I'm not going to reinstall Windows!)

This is a very silly question but I accidently checked the box telling my computer to always open AC3 files with my Nero program. I would like to have the AC3 file not be assigned to any specific program but I do not know how to do this. The only option I have is to assign them to another program. What I am trying to say is I would like to go back to the way it was before I assigned them to Nero so I would get a message telling me that windows could not open the file and then it would ask me to choose a program to do so.

If you install Nero 5.5.5.1 on an XP machine that has MusicMatch Jukebox (MMJB) 6.X installed, you will experience the "lost CDROM drives" syndrome. This is apparently caused by conflicting CD burning drivers in Nero and MMJB. Uninstalling MMJB 6.X solves the problem with the lost drives and allows you to use Nero. Once MMJB 6.X is uninstalled, you can then install MMJB version 7.0, and you will have full functionality in both Nero and MusicMatch Jukebox.

I am trying to burn an iso image to a DVD+R disk using NERO 7.0 Ultra Edition and for some reason when I go to burn the image, it tells me I need a CD-R or CD-RW. I just bought some DVD disks for the first time yesterday. I have used regular 800Mb CDs to burn iso images before with no problem. What's the deal with the DVD iso burning?
