View 1 Replies View RelatedI have looked in some 20+ sites and downloaded some 15+ differnet drivers for the dwl 520+ wireless pci adapter, tried to install them but with no results. Most of the drivers I downloaded don't come as a .exe put as a .zip or .rar, and when I decompress them the only executable is for installing a dlink airplus utility. So I install the utility and restart the computer, but now the "wireless bars" have a black X over them, and when I double click it says "no driver load". So obviously no driver was installed, but there is no other .
Later I try to install the driver through the .inf file (by going to device manager) but when I try to do so a dialog says that the file doesn't provide information about the hardware.
I am running xp pro I am getting an error when I boot the Computer.Missing my Boot.ini File I looked in the c drive and the boot.ini is missing. I don't know how or were it went I tried to copy it over from an other computer running xp pro, but I can't copy it.
How can I get it back.without reloading the os
My computer has been running pretty slow lately, i have looked at my hijack log, and let me know if there's anything there that should not be.

It may have something to do with the fact that the machine bacame seriously infected some months ago and some system 32 files were deleted in the clean up.

I had this problem regarding ntvdm, it keeps popping up every 5-10 mins. It opens internet explorer in the background and brings the pc too 100% usage every time i try to do something. I've tried to use uniblue registry fixer , norton anti virus and trojan hunter, but still no avail Help

I have been getting repeated messages along the lines of: WINHLP1.EXE HAS CAUSED AN ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION IN NTVDM CPU. I have also found a file called winhlp.dllalias which has references to a website called Americanfurniturewarehouse.com which repeatedly causes a pop-up on my internet explorer. Deleting this file has no long term effect.

My cmd would say some 16 bit message The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal operation or for that matter try and run anything dos related and I really don't know how that started. I downloaded PC MightyMax to try and fix some of those problems. After installing I ran the test it said and it said I had a good bit of problems wrong and it said I had to pay to fix them so I just said forget it. View 14 Replies View RelatedMy up to date anti virus told me the other day that it detected a trojan virus but that it was treated or whatever. well, today i go to get on my computer and all the websites say they cant be displayed or that the web browser is not working or my cookies are disabled. I have done all sorts of things that i read on here, i updated my Microsoft updates, i went to privacy and lowered that, i restored defaults on internet options and stuff. After all this I was able to see websites and check my email. But there is still stuff i cant do. I cant pay for my ebay, i cant play my games at yahoo. It directs me to a page with a little white box and some red and blue shapes in it. I am glad that i was able to at least get on the internet but i also need to do a few things.

I have a problem with viewing images on some websites.I have a Dell Dimension 4600 Series computer, I use Windows XP, IE browser, and I have Norton Systemworks premier 2005 Antivirus program on my computer. I also have spywareblaster from javacool site and a popup blocker.The main type of websites I have trouble viewing are websites with e-cards. I can view the e-cards but when I click on them to view to send..I get the tiny box with the red x in it.One in particular is the Hallmark.com site..I only get a blank background with the box & red x on the main page. If I go down to the e-cards and click on it.I can see the e-cards but again, when I click on one to send, nothing but the blank with the box & red x.Also I have tried to download the Macromedia Flash Player. I click on the download box, the next page that comes up, there is nothing to click on, only a box with the red x. That is as far as I can get.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems actually opening the adobe website for the past 4 weeks.I realise that macromedia redirects to adobe and so therefore I also have problems there.Fortunately I managed to reinstall my adobe reader and flash installers from a cd.When I type in the address, after it seems to have searched for a while I get the seasearch from MSN that says the site does not exist and asks if i meant to go to adobe.com! On clicking any links to adobe I just get the page cannot be displayed message!The odd thing is that after I reinstalled the adobe reader from the cd, it came up with 3 updates from the website and I installed them.I am running Windows XP, and have run AVG and adaware scans with no problems. I also run zone alarm (adobe is allowed, must be else it wouldn't have updated itself?)

I recently switched from DSL to Cable, since the switch there are a few web sites I cannot get to open up. Aafes.com, hotmail.com, support.microsoft.com.....and a few others. Most sites open fine but....I have checked my router, it's fine. I have bypassed it and gone straight from the modem still doesn't work. I have hooked someone elses laptop up to modem and guess what??? They opened them just fine. So I'm back to me. I'm so frustrated and confused. View 5 Replies View RelatedOn some of my pc`s I can not access Windowsupdate.com or any Microsoft websites. I thought it was a virus or spyware issue so I did a clean install of windows xp pro.
Once installed I setup up all my settings installed drivers, got onto the internet and i can go to any websites without a problem. But even with a clean install i cannot access any Microsoft websites.
So then i thought maybe it was a problem with my firewall blocking theses websites. I called my internet provider (Time Warner) who manage my firewall, and they claim the firewall is not blocking any of these websites. Which makes sense because i have serveral pc on the same network that can access these websites.
I have cleared cookies, cache, check settings reset modem, remove router nothin is helping. On a ping I get timed out.On a trace route it doesnt complete.
Any help to resolve this issue is appreciated for i have many sites i can access but some I cant.Sites I cant access are as follows www.no2allmails.com www.a-n-a-cash.com
