I have installed a music software program but it will not put its self in the program files for some reason and it does not show up in add and remove.Is there any way to get it to show up in there so eventually i can remove it..
View 1 RepliesI discovered that my main computer had acquired the 'Pure Networks Platform' mess, possibly from when I installed a Linksys WRT 160n wireless router. The actual software doesn't seem to be on the setup cd, but I haven't downloaded it either. Have figured out that its give me slowdowns and wierdnesses and generally making me mad. Especially when I find that it does not show in Add Remove! Tried searching for Pure Networks remover, and other variations in wording. Find that lots of people have similar difficulties. What is the trick? Safe mode and delete the folders? Search the registry manually?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi bought star wars battlefront 2. my swbf2 disk broken (broke disk #2). the good thing is that i could still play with disk 1... until i got a virus and had to clean install windows. luckly b4 that happened i burnt all the swbf2 data to a dvd. now i copied everything from the disk to E:programfileslucasarts starwarsbattlefrontII (its an external harddrive) but it doesnt show up in the add remove thing. i heard that the windows registry handles things like this, so how can i update the registry to show swbf2 installed? i have windows xp sp2.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 8 or 9 flash drives and 5 or 6 external hard drive enclosures. It doesn't matter which one I use but sometimes they don't show up in windows explorer or on "my computer".
They do show up in device manager and disc management and can be opened there.Also the may or may not show up in my program "USB Safely Remove"
I used to always get a little box asking what I wanted to do when I put in either a music or picture cd.....the box has things such as copy pictures to computer, start a slide show, etc.....I insert the cd and there is no box....? I highlight the drive....( H, my plug in drive with all my pictures and cd's) and go to file, properties, auto play and the box that usually shows is there....now, how do I get that box to pop up on my screen whenever I insert a cd??????? the music and picture cd works...I hear music and see pictures, I would just like this box to appear and ask me what I want to do.

I use XP Pro SP1. Everytime I open Windows Explorer, then click My Documents, I find My Pictures and My Music listed as subfolders. I manually delete them. Next time I open My Documents, there they are again. Any tips on how to permanently prevent these 2 items from appearing?

I recently installed Mcafee. I defraged my computer and restarted it. When it loaded up I noticed that everything is taking 2x as long to load and it is taking long time to even get the start button list up. I was able to get into the add/remove program list but nothing was there. The drives show in device manager. I can detect and remove the USB drives with 3rd party software like 'USB disk eject'. The drives are 'optimized for quick removal'.
I've got rid of all 'ghost' drives and hubs in device manager and related registry entries (with drivecleanup). 'plug and play' service is running. I can't think of any strange software and drivers recently installed. I've googled a lot with no results.
Recently I installed "Ulead Video Studio 9" program on my computer. But for some reason it did not install properly, it crashed half way. Clicking on the shortcut on the desktop does not initiate the program. I decided to uninstall the program by going into the Add/Remove folder of Windows XP. But from the Add/Remove folder, I was not able to uninstall the program. Its like 174.5 MB file sitting on my programs folder. Tried to use DOS delete command to delete files. But it looks like will take few months to clear all the files. I was able to delete some files by going into each menu/sub menu etc. It looked like a very tedious process. There are thousands of files for this program. Does anyone know any good program to remove/uninstall this program without damaging other programs?

I have a problem with my taskbar. I accidently changed it and it seems I fixed it. But now, whenever i open up a program, it shows that program two times on the taskbar. It's annoying and wastes up space on the taskbar.
