I have an Acer TravelMate 2303LC laptop. Yesterday I realised I was out of space on the C: drive (6MB I think) and was planning to delete/move files to free up space tonight. However after switching it on today it comes up with the lsass.exe system error - 'insufficient system resources exist to complete the API'. It only offers the choice of OK and when you click this it restarts and comes up with the same error again, and you can repeat this forever

I have an desktop PC installed with Windows XP. Yesterday I realised that the free space in my C: drive was rapidly decreasing and before I could take any action, the free space was in KB's and the computer shut down. After switching it on, it comes up with the lsass.exe system error - 'Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API'. It only offers the choice of OK and when you click this it restarts and comes up with the same error again, and you can repeat this forever I tried to start in Safe mode also, but the computer restarts.

I get this error on both mine and my wife's systems.
Happens during a simple COPY/PASTE routine. We get this error code copying anything into WORD.
Both systems have more than enough "resources" available.
Both systems run XP Pro and have all the latest updates.
My system has 1.5GB RAM hers has 1GB Ram. There's more than enough HDD space available as well

I have a Lite-On SHW-160P6S DVD drive. Just recently reinstalled windows and reformatted and was in the process of gradually getting everything set up and installed, when my drive disappeared. I don't know exactly when, but it was gone. I checked the device manager and it said the driver was corrupted, no updated driver available, so I uninstalled and restarted. Upon restart, Windows recognizes the drive and begins to install it

When I start my computer (windows xp), before the "signing in" screen comes up this error message shows up:
lsass.exe - system error insufficient system resources exist to complete the API
I know that there is not enough free disk space, but I cannot access my drives to free up some space. Safe mode and Debug mode do not work either

I know that this question has been asked but I could not find an answer that fixed the problem, so I thought I might try again. Whenever I try to hibernate my computer, the message, "Insufficient system resources to complete the API." comes up. Afterwards, anything concerning hibernation disappear and the hibernation button cannot be clicked. My system details are as follows: Dell Inspiron 9300 running Windows XP Media Center Edition. 1.73 ghz processor with 1.50 gb of ram. (I have heard that having over 1.0 gb of ram might cause this, but I could not find anything that could fix it.)

Have"Iomega Automatic Backup Pro Software" and the Iomega 80gb usb external hard drive This software works great for backing up data The only way I can get it to work for a complete system restore on my C/Drive is in safe mode! Tried it on another computer had same problem. One of the computers has Windows Xp Pro (media adtion) the other windows XP home. The Windows Pro is HP that has the recovery backup on seperate partion D/Drive , installed as fat32,. Normal system is on C/drive . I can do a back up the on the D/drive Fat32 but not the C/drive which is NTFS. This appears to be great software very simple to use nothing like Ghost 2003 . only problem it doesn't work for doing a complete system backup. (The reason I bought it) Was wondering if anyone has used this software and had similar difficulties ? Or if anyone has any idea what could be causing the problem?

I first noticed my computer slowing down dramatically. Then I noticed that my windows updates were not installing. Spent two weeks with windows update helpers and could not get them to install. Kept getting the message "Insufficiet system resources exist to complete the request". I have tried to clean up my computer, deleting temp files, histories, unused programs and they still will not load. On some of the attempts to delete old programs I do not use, I would get the same message and the program would not delete. Even bought System Mechanic 8.5 tried to install it and it won't install. Tried to install everything in safe mode, but they will not install

I can not bring up animated graphics on my screen. It will view most jpeg files but not gif files. I get a 'drawing failed' on the screen. When I call up a folder, only half the items show to the eye. The others are blank. When I call up a program, it says 'Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service'. I took screen shots through my print screen program and no problem to bring that program up. But when I go after them to put in Photobucket to post I get the 'Insufficient' message so I can't post them for you. It lets me do some things but not others?

When I try to put my system in hibernation, I frequently get the message "insufficient system resources exist to complete this API". My only alternative is to kill the power to the computer. I have 2.5GB of RAM and more than 35GB of unused space on drive C:. I have recently defragmented the C: drive and I have used drive cleanup

After I have had the computer on a bit, this error message comes up 'The win 16 subsysten has insufficient resources to continue running. Click OK, close application and restart' Then one of my programs, either perfect works or Print artist just closes and I have to stop everything and restart the computer to get it back on. All the other programs are still running and I can keep working for days with out hese programs, but when I want to use them I have to restart the computer all over again. They will then work for a bit again and then it starts all over again.

I get a error box that comes up that says "Insufficient Resources", now I only get this after playing a game for about 15 minutes every time I play. Before (about 5 formats ago (which has been awile) I would never get this, now it's happening every time and it frustrates me because i'm trying to play and then I get this error then after about 2 minutes my computer reboots.I have 1GB RAM, so i'm sure that's enough to play the games (I play on lowish-medium quality).

Over the past two years, I've built six computers for friends and co-workers, including some real screamin' gamers (P4, 3GHz, 2GB RAM, 256 MB video card, all running WinXP Pro). They all work fine, but all also seem to share one common annoyance. After being left on for some length of time (10-15 hours), they all seem to lock up. They don't completely freeze up - the mouse will work, but clicking on any icon gives the error message that "insufficient system resources exist for the requested operation ..". This happens even when the computers are unused for that time (i.e., overnight). I thought it was pretty obvious that something is eating up memory, so I installed AnalogX MaxMem to monitor the memory. It didn't help. Over time, the computer's available memory seemed to stay steadily around 70-75%, but even with MaxMem showing that much available memory, the computer still gave the "insufficient resource" message after being left on overnight.

I am constantly connected to the internet via the university's network, run AVG 7.1 free, spybot s&d and its tea timer, and ad-aware se personal, all with updated definitions. I run an ewido online scan once a week, but don't keep it installed since it causes my computer to boot much more slowly. I also have the most current windows updates, except WMPlayer 10, and .Net 2.0 because it seems unnecessary. Well, back to the problem. I was talking to my friend on AIM, when I got the message "The connection to the service was lost" and had options to try and reconnect, etc. I tried to load IE, but it gave me some error along the lines on "Unable to load (initialize?) IE due to insufficient resources." I have a gig of ram, 3.0 GHZ P4, 120 Gig of hdd space, about 80 gig free, and run CCleaner about twice a week.
Anyway, I've been clean according to those 3 programs I use frequently, but after I got kicked off AIM and IE wouldnt load, my favorites were empty, programs wouldnt load, i couldnt shut down, etc. So I hit the reset button. When rebooted, the BIOS screen showed, and stayed for along time which it never does. Then, it kind of froze. As illogical as this seems, I just hit the switch on the back of the powersupply and waited about 2 minutes. All of my fans are clear of dust and in working operation (GPU, CPU, and PSU). I havent installed or removed any hardware / software recently, etc. So when I restarted, I rebooted into "safe mode with network support" and ran Spybot, Adaware, AVG7.1 and Ewido online scan. None reported anything outstanding, but AVG notes that read errors occured for the MBR and boot sector. Ewido found "spyware.chitika" which it removed. I rebooted and am currently in "safe mode with networking" just to be safe, but my question is: what could have caused this? and how can I fix my MBR? Thanks for any suggestions. I have a final paper that I need to finish before friday!

1) I have seen this problem posted on another forum in the past, but the thread never led to a solution.2) This problem has occurred with both a EIDE hard drive and a USB camera. I have also seen reports of it happening with other drives.
(NOTE: the items I am referring to use native WIN XP drivers; I have posted this problem on other forums and the first responder always tells me to go to the manufactrer's site to download the latest drivers.)3) The problem: every time I reboot, the Hardware installation wizard reports the following: "The specified service does not exist as an installed service."4) Once this dialog box is closed, the yellow warning diamond appears nect to the device in hardware manager, and the driver "disk.sys" is NOT installed, although "partmgr.sys" is.

Error 1321. The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:Program FilesCommon FilesJavaUpdateBase Imagesjre1.6.0.b105core3.zip. I'm using a Compaq 6470NX, running XP. I recently had to do a recovery and of course lost everything. I'm now trying to re-do stuff. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to ask. The error above came when trying to install a java runtime and I've gotten it for other things as well.
