I am having trouble with IE running slow. Get alot of Page not found and have to click it 2-3 times to get pages to load. I was thinking of downloading Firefox, but not sure if that is the problem. If its the explorer.
View 9 RepliesMy pc was working just fine a few days ago then last night i go on it was just dragging.Everything was loading slow despite the fact i have even firefox was loading slow which it never does.Anyway i asked my sister who was the last one on if she clicked on anything but no surprise the reply was I didn't do anything so i guess it was a ghost .I ran NAV but nothing found then again NAV doesn't seem to find anything
View 6 Replies View RelatedLately my computer has been having many issues regarding its performance. It's an old computer, about 4 yrs old. HP Pavillion, Windows XP. It runs at around 100% when I have about 3 or 4 programs open, when I restart I almost always receive a message about hardware monitor finding an error. At one time I was wondering if my mouse or keyboard could be the culprit. Sometimes when I am opening tabs in new windows on firefox, and right click with my mouse.it opens the site in a new window or it shows me the element properties, tries to save the page, bookmark it, etc. I have scanned for viruses and have come up with nothing. I am afraid to turn my computer off because I don't know if it will come back. I've done about three whole system restores on it (all of which have had issues that have resolved if the restore has been started and then let to rest for a few days.)
Another issue last night, was that Firefox would not respond when I entered a website. It would say that it was finding the site, but then it would say "done" very quickly. I put the computer in hibernate (and the part that says "windows is preparing to hibernate" looked drastically different.) This morning I wanted to find out the problem with firefox. i got a message about how firefox had crashed and needed to be restarted. I clicked on "restart firefox" and my computer had a bluescreen error and crashed. This is the message I recieved from windows about that: Blue screen error caused by a device or driver. You received this message because a hardware device, its driver, or related software has caused a blue screen error. This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem.
yesterday I was downloading using a Firefox browser and most of you will know when you download something using a Firefox broswer you get 2 files 'zip file' and something else (random file) on a 'Desktop' when downloading.
Suddenly yesterday my internet disconnected when I was downloading and zip file was there and random file with zip file was there tooI don't know why but I thought it was unusual and thought it should've been finished downloading so I wanted to know why it was there still because it should be gone when it's finished and only zip file should be on Desktop I right clicked on that random file and pressed connect program (C) somehow out of the blue I just changed it to zip file which I should've left it alone and delete it or something
Everytime I try to download and run anything I get a message saying that the path (c: bla bla bla ) is valid. But it is for a machine other than this one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my IBM NetVista (First In My Computer Specs) when I am browsing with Firefox, the CPU will stay at 100% and any music I might have playing will skip like crazy. Everything basically comes to a grinding halt.Sometimes it will even delay in my typing,I have uninstalled, then installed Firefox with no luck. The machine is plenty capable (2 GHz Pentium 4, 512 MB RAM-see CPU Specs Icon for more),without much running in the background, so why would it be like that?

Thats really slow!And i have run a lot of tests and my computer is NOT infected. I have no programs using my bandwidth,when im not downloading anything, Windows says there are no connections open and there are no transfers.Now, i do get to download at full speed using Orbit but downloading without it takes ages.If i have to update a program, it takes ages

For example, if I click on an application from the desktop it will sit there for 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Occasionally I'll click multiple times on something and nothing will happen then 30 seconds later it will open multiple instances of things. This delay has been happening with just about anything I click on, acting like the computer's busy doing something else when nothing else should be going on. I've looked in the task manager and the applications column will be blank

It boots up ok but programs open vary slow (word xl) internet explorer8 is even slower i have tried mozilla firefox and its no better it takes me 2 to 5 minutes to get online. Shut down is pretty slow and I'll usually get a message that something is not responding latley when I boot up I get a box pop up for lela 3.1 saying it will fix my network i know its som kind of spyware i x out but how can i get rid of it? have run scan reg it finds problems fixes them but thay come back.

Pages take too long to load, and I now sometimes get the server error message here, server not responding. Any idea what I can do. View 3 Replies View RelatedI ran Ad Aware SE and later Spyawre Doctor and found nothing also clen temp. files on IE/Tools/temp folders then I ran %temp% and deleted all temp files but it gave me an Error File or Folder mon000 that says close any programs that might be using the file and try again. I don' know what file that is. there are two files that were not deleted: mon000.log and one named Dat.File pefib Perfdata Also ran ATF-cleaner

Everything is running slow- games, IE, etc.- and when I check task manager I range from 10% to 20+% CPU usage (not sure if that's normal or not) when nothing but the essentials are running. update: i've defraged all drives, cut my memory back to 512MB (out of 1.5GB) and killed all unnecessary background/startup progs.What other info do you guys need?
