Click On File Show Send Report Without Send Buttons
Feb 23, 2007I am in a bad bad situation. Whenever I go to my computer/win explorer and try to right click on any item, i get an error in Windows Explorer with the send report and dont send option buttons. Im not able to do many things due to that. and this is not a virus or something I guess because I have a good AV software and I was using my PC throughout till yesterday evening when I shifted it from 1 room to another. And thats when it happened for the first time.

For example, if I'd like to read the output of the "ver" command (which tells you what version of window) to a variable called "myvar", how would I do it? So "ver" outputs for me: "Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]" How would I read that into a variable called myvar?

Jun 3, 2006I am using a POWER USER account, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 /w all the latest patches availible via microsoft update. I was trying to create a .zip file of a folder within the primary directroy of a backup hard drive I use.
For Example:
D:stuff - I wanted to make a zipfile of the folder "stuff."
Then I get the following error "Cannot Create Output File."
However, if I move the folder to the destop or a subdirectory i.e. stuff/more stuff, then the .zip file is created with no problems.
Also, because user accounts [at least in my experience] have a tendency to decay, I created a freash power user account and the same problem persist.
Is this a standard security feature for power user accounts? Is there anyway I can "disable" it if it is?
Batch File: Setting Output Of Program To A Variable / Correcting Command?
Sep 1, 2009I have gone through the above thread. I have a specific requirement to count the files in a folder and set it's count value to a variable in the batch script. I will then use this value later in the program. e.g. for /f "delims=" %a in ('dir /a-D /B /s "C:codedepotinstallData File DistribProductName" |find /c /v ""') do Set tempVar=%a I am having trouble with the space in the path. I tried using escape with slash '' but didn't help. Can anyone correct my above command and get the count in the tempVar?

Aug 7, 2005Tried to use her wireless adapter on my wireless network and ever since that day I've had printer problems. What happens when I say print is the printer icon appears in my taskbar, hangs around for about 15 seconds (as if printing is occuring) then it goes away but the printer never prints. If I open Control Panels and go to Printer, it too breifly shows one document printing for a few seconds, as if it is printing. It is as if the file has been spooled, but the spooler doesn't send the file on to the printer. My desire is to print. My question (hopefully on that road to printing): Is there a print spooler in Windows XP? Any way to monitor it other than control panel printer?

Mar 11, 2006All the programs on me computer randomal, every now and again (3 times an hour) decide to close with the same lovely error popping up every time about an unexpected error with the 'Send' 'Don't Send' buttons.think I may have two explanations, The RAM, a corrupt system file or a corrupt hard drive.Does anybody have any idea about why this is happening and if so, a solution?

Wave Output In Volume Control
Jul 12, 2010every 3-5 minutes or so, the main window that i'm working in (doesn't matter which program im running, but usually firefox/msn messenger, etc..) stops being the "top" window, and instead goes to the background - as if i opened another internet explorer window on top of it.this "glitch" is always followed by something even more strange - the sound gets cut off, and if i check the meters in volume control i always find the "wave" meter to be on minimum, and i have to put it back in the middle.

Now I need to print with color and I can't find out how to get it turned back on. Where I changed it was before the printers so the each printer's properties won't let me change it. I should have wrote it down and soon will if I get a resolution here. The ink bars on the printing status blocks only show black ink so I know the command is set before them. Feb 14, 2009I reinstalled my OS and all my software, shortly thereafter I noticed I had an issue where any sound that was coming through my headphones was being retransmitted through the mic, with further testing I found that this was not actually the case but rather any sound that would be output is being retransmitted as audio in, even if I had no speakers, headphones or mics connected. I have looked at and experimented with everything I could in every sound settings.
I have tried updated drivers, the only way for me to stop the issue from occurring is to mute the mic in the recording control, but that stops me from using the mic altogether. I need to be able to use my mic without recording anything that I am hearing as well.
