View 3 RepliesI have replaced my hard drive completely. One thing I really miss about my old setup was that I had Roxio disc copier, which really came in handy for my job. Since I no longer have the application CD that it came on, I am slightly SOL and have to spend a lot of time burning copies from media player.Does anyone know of a simple, free program that will allow me to copy a disc that is in the D: drive to a blank one in the E: drive?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI need a free program to run a logoff script in Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional. It has to not depend on the network, so no netlogon share or something.I've ended up being made aware of several ways to do this from searching, but I can't find an already built program that does this. There's HSLAB shutdown folder lite, but it has quick shutdown. I just want a logoff script, no other changes to Windows XP. There's group policy which is perfect, but doesn't support Windows XP Home. I don't want to get it to run on Home, that might be illigal.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking for now is a program where I can log into their

Does anyone have a suggestion what prog I can use for that? (or a link
to a side would be also great)
Have been searching for the web for hours but I guess my English just
doesn’t provide me with the right keywords to get any results I can
use.
On this site I found a similiar thread:

but that is for Shadowing w’ Win2003 Server and I have on both
computers WinXP.
Any suggestions would be just great!

Explorer seems like it likes to crash randomly. I've already ran chkdsk and no problems were found. Now, with my experience with chkdsk at my IT job, it doesn't always do the job. So I was wondering if there was a program that could.
-I am free of spyware to the best of my knowledge
-I run CCleaner daily to get rid of useless files.
-I defrag every so often
I've read here that IIS cannot be installed on XP Home Edition, so OK to that. But is there some other (Free?) non-Windows utility that I can install on my XP operating system that will do the same thing for me?
Since I started using XP, I noticed that games performance was terrible. Idle CP load stayed at around 12% all the time. This lead to jerky graphics, choppy sound, every game I tried was the same, even DVD playback suffered. I tried the tweak http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=822but I didn't see any difference. If you also experience this problem and have a Zip drive, here's how I solved it.1.Right click "My Computer"2.Select "Manage"3.Click on "Device Manager"4.Double click on your Zip under "Disk Drives" ( it may be listed as "IMG VP01" or something similar - pick the one that's not a hard drive)5.Disable the deviceIf you then need to use the Zip drive, simply re-enable it by following similar steps. This worked fine for me, XP is now as fast as 98
View 9 Replies View RelatedAre there any more sophisticated packages out there that can connect to standard Remote Desktop enabled Windows machine?I need to connect to several remote computers on a regular basis, and would like something that would remember my login settings for each one of them. The standard Remote Desktop Connection client that come with Windows 2000 only seems to remember the settings for *one* connection. (Or are there perhaps some call arguments that I could put into the shortcut, in order to define certain login parameters?)

My computer is about 2 years old. In those two years, I had to re-install Windows XP and everything else on my computer...for reasons unknown...I recently performed a New Installation of Windows XP on my computer. I don't have alot of things installed on my computer. The total space all the programs in my Add and Remove programs file takes up is only 1GB. Since I had to start over and re-install everything and my programs only add up to 1GB, Shouldn't I have more free space ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need help. I have two HD installed on my pc. One HD is an 80GB and the other is 40GB. I have the 80GB HD partition into two drives of 40GB each. So I had a C,D,and E drive. My computer was beginning to get cluttered and was running a little slow so I decided to wipe my 80GB HD and re-install the operating system (XP Pro). I went ahead and wiped the drive and reinstalled the operating system. I also partition the drive once again to two 40GB HD's. Everything went as planned however I can only see my C drive now. I do not see my D or E drive. I am really worried because my E drive was used to back up all my files and I was thinking since I did not touch that drive all should be well and in tack. My question is how do I find my D and E drive and will all my files still be in my E drive?
