Is there any device that I could download that could help me find my drivers for hardware in devices manager, I would also like to copy these drivers to a folder for future installations.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed the system boot in "MsConfig" and now my sound, scanner and my printer don't work. I looked at the device manager to see if there was an error with the soundcard or something, but all devices have vanished from the device manager. I just tried to connect my ipod to the computer, and it said the software can't communicate with the ipod.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had to reinstall windows XP because my OS would not load and I got all the drivers reinstalled, diagnostic ran smooth and everything came up working ok etc but my device manager won't recognize anything! The compy says my audio mixers are not there, my USB devices are not working, hardware wizard is not responding, microsoft updates are not working, Dell's driver downloads are calling out for something that isn't there and I really need this fixed ASAP so I can get to my external HD.
View 12 Replies View Relatedmy friend give me his Gateway 610XL all in one PC to fix a few problems. one of them was internet explorer not showing up when called for, that was an easy fix; however, this next problem has to do with USB devices and it's giving me a bit of trouble. basically, any USB devices i connect to it, windows doesn't auto install or even try to auto install the drivers. no matter what i connect to it (mouse, keyboard, thumb drive). i can go into device manager and install the drivers manually just fine but i would like to fix the auto install feature for my friend cuz he's not that good with computers. i checked and made sure the following services are enabled:
plug and play
upnp
user mode driver framework
shell hardware detection
the problem persist even in safe mode. one thing i noticed is when i go to control panel and then hit add hardware, i get a message that says this: "you can only install one device at a time. when the other device installation is complete, try this wizard again" (some where along those lines). i get that message even with nothing connected to the USB ports. i'm guessing what ever this "other device" is, it hanging up pnp so how do i go about aborting that installation? i don't really see anything in the task bar that even suggest a driver installation is on the way. this is running Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3 by that way.
All of a sudden, the imaging devices attached to a computer with Windows XP Pro SP2 are showing up under the Unknown category in the Device Manager. The
devices are listed correctly by their names under Unknown, but the software won't communicate with them.Windows can see the devices, but it does not know what type of devices they are. It is only the imaging devices. One is a Canon 4200F Canoscan scanner, the other is a Sony Camcorder, and the third is a hardware capture device (Pinnacle Moviebox). The Canon scanner is a USB 2.0 device, while the other two are attached through firewire ports.
I have lost my device manager when i click on device manager it opens a blank box with no devices in it help plz i also after finding this i decided to try and format xp home i get the message saying the windows vertion i have is newer than the vertion on disc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedEverest shows 3 unknown devices but device manager doesnt?my soundcard dissapeard today, i can still pick it up using "Unknown Devices" and EVEREST although when i try to run audigy 2 drivers, it`s telling me there are no supported devices in the system, anyone know how i can force the REAL device manager to see these devices?it seems only everest and unknown devices is picking up my soundcard, it also says AUDIGY from CREATIVE. it just is not appearing in device manager for some reason so i am unable to actually install it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHey guys, I've had an empty Device Manager for a long time and I'm only now trying to find out how to fix it.I didn't really worry about it before because everything was working fine, even though it was empty. But recently when I've been trying to install drivers for my video card, and my new game controller there have been issues. For example the driver installation for my radeon 9600 card refuses to start up. And the driver installer for my gamepad fails to recognize that it's even plugged in (even though games recognize the controller just fine).I'm guessing these driver problems are related to the empty device manager? The installer won't install the drivers because it doesn't think the devices are even installed or plugged in the computer.

I have deleted an sound object that allows it in device manager and allowed XP to load wht it will. I still have no sound. I checked for sound services in services and they are started as well.If I load Knoppix and test, my sounds work so I am assumming it is not a hardware problem.

I purchased a SIIG PCI firmware adapter. It has no drivers and says that it will use Win XP drivers. Well I installed the board and booted the pc, Win XP
recognized the hardware but could not find any drivers. I tried unplugging it manually, installing it in another card slot with no luck. I took it back to
my pc dealer and he plugged it in his system and had no problems. I decide to try another brand, an IO Gear GIC1394.
A friends HP Media Center PC m7077c crashed. Had no recover disk, etc. Installed XP Pro SP2 and I need drivers (according to Device Manager). No sound is obvious but video controller is not. Video seems okay. Where do I find drivers for this machine. XP Pro, Home and MCE are different OS's ... as far as my experience. The drivers are not the same.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever i install drivers on my pc, (i've tried graphics card drivers and wireless network card drivers) my pc stops working. When i installed the graphics card drivers, i tried testing the graphics on a game (counter-strike) but as soon as i got into the game, the pc flashes a blue screen, and reboots. I cant see what the blue screen says because it flashes on and off again to quick for me to read it. I decided to uninstall the graphics card drivers, and the game worked perfectly, but the graphics were REALLY bad. So i thought i might need to update some other drivers, so i tried to install my wireless network card, but when i finished installing the drivers when i had to restart my computer, it flashed the BSOD.... AGAIN! I need help urgently as im going to a LAN gaming comp called "rezidue" and its on in 2 weeks, i need my pc fixed by then! All these problems started when i upgraded my CPU. Everything was running smooth, and i was happily playing along on my computer, when i was asked what my FPS was in counter-strike, and i was all "mine are 65!" and there like "wow that sucks, mines 130" so i set out on my epic quest to get better FPS then everyone else and MAN THAT WAS A MISTAKE. I upgraded from my celeron 2.8ghz cpu to a P4 3.0ghz HT cpu, and thats when things started messing up on me. My entire system is as follows (incase it can help someone help me) P4 3.0ghz HT CPU, Microstar P4 motherboard, 128mb Nvidia Geforce mx4000 AGP x8 graphics card, 256MB ddr ram (recently brought new 1GB ddr ram off ebay just for rezidue! should be here soon!) View 12 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine has a 4 yr. old PC running XP Home with 128Mb of memory. He's had problems with programs aborting recently. I tried to run Device Manager to make sure there were no issues there. It briefly brought the screen up, then it went away. The same thing happened to Task Manager when I tried to see what was running and how much memory was being used. Anybody ever see this behavior before? I might try installing a memory cleaner pgm (ie. Memturbo), but I'm not sure I would even be able to get it to run. The hard drive amd memory seem to have no errors.
