Add / Remove Program Errors

Ive had a search but couldnt find ANY hits for add or remove programs so apologies if I have missed something obv. Basically I tried to unistall the two gig monster that is Americas Army to make some room on my hard drive but an error message pops up saying 'an error occured whilst trying to uninstal Americas Army this item may have already been uninstalled do you want to remove this item from the add remove program list? I clicked no and tried a few other progs I wouldnt mind uninstalling all the same error message.Americas Army is most definatley still on my pc but has no uninstall option - the uninstall options on other progs worked fine however.Im on winxp pro spk2 dell inspiron 9300 laptop nothings come up on my normal anti virus / spyware scans and I havnt installed anything for ages on this really stable machine.

is it possible to remove a installed program's name from the add/remove program list in the control panel. i recently had an important program removes from my system by mistake. i would like to make it im possible for tis to happen "by mistake" again. i want to keep the program installed but not have it show up in the list of programs in add/install programs.

I had ad aware 6 on my computer. I intstalled ad aware 7 without uninstalling 6. Ad aware 7 uninstalled it, but it is still on my add/remove programs list. How do I remove it from this list?

I recently installed Mcafee. I defraged my computer and restarted it. When it loaded up I noticed that everything is taking 2x as long to load and it is taking long time to even get the start button list up. I was able to get into the add/remove program list but nothing was there. I waited for about 10 minutes and then nothing still, I don't know any other way to remove McAfee, how to remove McAfee, add/remove program list won't work here.

I had a power outage about a week ago and since then a printer I had previously connected, Lexmark X5495, started acting up by turning on & off on it's own at all hours of the day. Today I removed the printer software from my computer after numerous failed attempts and now I am left with two errors on my computer since the removal of such software for this dumb printer. The error messages I get when I turn on/reboot my computer are the following:

My computer at work has been behaving very oddly lately, i keep getting "... has generated errors and will be closed by Windows" For programs - Mainly firefox (2.0.0.7), but also happens with Outlook, IE (6) and Safari for Windows.Using Windows 2000, checked for viruses with Sophos - nothing. I want to do a clean install of the licensed version of QuickBooks 2005 CD but not until the downloaded trial is cleaned from the HDD. Back on May 15th, Laura alt.comp.software.financial.quickbooks instructed me how to do this. Finally got around to starting the process a couple weeks ago, then put it on hold again because the uninstall didn't seem to work. I'm stuck. What I did: Uninstalled QBs 2005 Trial using Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs. It appeared to perform the program uninstall successfully and it's no longer listed in Add/Remove. I discovered that my main computer had acquired the 'Pure Networks Platform' mess, possibly from when I installed a Linksys WRT 160n wireless router. The actual software doesn't seem to be on the setup cd, but I haven't downloaded it either. Have figured out that its give me slowdowns and wierdnesses and generally making me mad. Especially when I find that it does not show in Add Remove! Tried searching for Pure Networks remover, and other variations in wording. Find that lots of people have similar difficulties. What is the trick? Safe mode and delete the folders? Search the registry manually?

I use Windows XP. I have two problems using the Add/Remove function in my Control Panel: specifically I want to remove a program called "Creative Zen V Series (R2). The prompt after attempting to remove comes back with "The specific module could not be found" and leaves the program showing. I need to get rid of this entry. Secondly I want to remove "Calendar Creator 9" and when this is selected to remove, I get a prompt that says "To install the program it must first be removed using the Control Panel function Add/Remove. This is frustrating as that is exactly what I'm trying to do, NOT INSTALL the program again.

my computer got alot of errors, when i play warcraft3 tft in the loading screen sometime it will jam and i have to restart. and alot other problem have in my computer. ya i download a software call Free Registry Fix 3.0 from www.download.com, and i scan for error i have over 1000 errors in my computer. Windows Installation : Various files cannot be copied and/or not copied correctly. Giving blue screen of [enter] retry, [esc] skip or F3 to abort installation. Files constantly failing to copy : cyycoins or something, lots of .chm files, too many to mention. Curious thing is, same problems for both optical drives and both HDDs, varying both for many installations. Eventually I held down [enter] and the files went in, well some didn't but Windows booted fine.
Warhammer Dawn of War : Winter Assault. wh40k.cab is corrupt. Changed optical drives during installtion, installed fine. Could be hardware issue with my cdrom, Same game, when playing will crash to desktop. No error message sometimes, no indication of crash (no freezing or warning sounds or stuttering, just flat out BOOM, .exe gone. Sometimes error message appears to send error report, sometimes doesn't. Occurs while under load
I thought this could again be CDROM issue, with the copy protection not keeping the game running because disc wasnt read right.
Mozilla Firefox : Dunno really. Loaded it up to access webpage. Some survey appeared, then program locks up for maybe 10 seconds then crashes with firefox.exe has encountered error Windows built in message appears. Firefox is unable to load up again due to missing/corrupted .dll file error. Cannot page_read or something. I forget the whole error message. Guess coulda been important to save it to post here.
Whole system reboot. Idle one time, machine just goes down, then starts up again. Flat reboot. Didnt touch any buttons, then once in Windows 'recovered from serious error' message appears. Tells me after sending report its a device driver issue. Changed My Computer options to give the Blue Screen of Death so that the driver is named, nothing, just page_file_read or errors along those lines I know nothing about.
Don't know what is wrong. Hardware issue could be Optical Drive. But then again I have 2 drives, and the errors ocur no matter which one I use, same with the Hard Disks. I'm stumped. Its quite a huge issue. I have nothing on the drives, I backed all my stuff up before formatting after starting to get errors 1-4. I got these errors before format and immediately after. So would indicate Hardware issue would it not Can it be a BIOS problem? Or wiring, neither of which i have altered or been brave enough to look at.

Ever since I'd built my computer, I have been getting errors in internet explorer. These would pop up at completely random intervals (although it seemed to be more often when I loaded intensive pages). They would take the guise of problems that are all attributed to many things. mshtml.dll, ntdll.dll, wininet.dll, and a few other .dll files have been the error causing agents in the "more info" on the error popup. I have also had many blue screen errors such as bad pool caller, irql not less or equal, and page fault in_nonpaged area, to name a few
When I started getting these errors, I tried to look them up, but I found several different reasons for errors. Many errors had different problems such as various installed components, leading my to believe that it was a RAM error. I bought a PNY stick at BB and swapped it. Still got the errors. I then returned the PNY stick and bought an ULTRA X-Connect PSU. I tested it again, and I still got the same errors. Then, a new devvelopment occurred. I tried doing a repair install, but it errored halfway through, saying that a certain file could not be copied

Recently I installed "Ulead Video Studio 9" program on my computer. But for some reason it did not install properly, it crashed half way. Clicking on the shortcut on the desktop does not initiate the program. I decided to uninstall the program by going into the Add/Remove folder of Windows XP. But from the Add/Remove folder, I was not able to uninstall the program. Its like 174.5 MB file sitting on my programs folder. Tried to use DOS delete command to delete files. But it looks like will take few months to clear all the files. I was able to delete some files by going into each menu/sub menu etc. It looked like a very tedious process. There are thousands of files for this program. Does anyone know any good program to remove/uninstall this program without damaging other programs?

I go into my Control Panel and I click Add or Remove Program and I get this Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. With this extra info:

I was wondering if anybody can help me get rid of a number of program names i have sitting on my add/remove program, I try to remove them but when i do it tells me that the link does not exist and therefore i can't get rid of the name as i must have removed the offending programs manually instead of through the above program, as i should have.Is there a way of removing the wording, i have tried moving it into a removal program that i have, called emco move on boot, which is a drag and drop setup but i can't drag them across.

How does one remove items in the ad/remove screen when messages come up to the effect that the program has been incompletely uninstalled and cannot find certain files needed for removal. Am not comfortable going into the registry and doing anything because I do not know anything same and have been warned that unless you are an expert - leave the registry completely ALONE! Have been frightened to even open the registry let alone thinking about tinkering in it.

When I open the Add and Remove screen from the control panel 2 strange things are present.
1. There are dozens of listings that have no change or remove buttons, I don't know where they come from and would like to get rid of them.
2. There is a huge blank blank area, 30 programs displayed then huge gap before the next program you have to slide the bar almost to the bottom to see the next program.

My question is: If I use the Add/Remove Program function and remove a program which exists on my old IDE drive and a copy of the program on the new SATA drive, will it remove the copy on the new harddrive as well?

I just noticed that the Last Used Date shown for programs in the Add/Remove list does not always agree with what I know to be the case. For instance, Bridge Baron 14 show as being last used on 3/9/2004. I just finished using it this morning so it seems like the date should be today's. The same holds true for many other programs in the list.Do I misunderstand what the Last Used date indicates?

My add/remove program list is gone. I can click on the box and it opens but is totally empty. I also have problems with 2 browsers missing links or pics and have no clue how to fix that or if it is related. A while back my puter gave an error saying something like 800assist was missing but I am clueless I am running Windows 2000.
