I've tried several times to delete a folder from My Pictures Folder but
when I power up the computer the next day the folder is still there. I've
tried removing the green dot from the read only box in properties this has
not worked. Can anyone help me remedy this?
I have a shared folder which contains many folders for many users on my network and to make users folders recognisable we chose to fix a folder picture of every folder with the picture of the folder owner. The problem is that those folders never have a constant folder picture on all of my network computers as the picture always changes for some reason, I've tried to set permissions on thumb.db file

Problem 2: The view preference "thumbnails" in my picture folder is never saved! Each time I open the folder I have to set it on again! The problem is that my pict folder is not in the System disk.
I have just had windows xp home reinstalled on my PC due to a fault. I now find that all of my pictures saved show the name plus .jpg If I try to rename them a arning box comes up saying that the picture might become unusable if I delete the file extension. What can I do to only show the picture name.

I've discovered that it's my album folders that have been tagged (most likely by me) to have a custom Folder Picture.I want to remove all the Folder Pictures from my music album folders. I fear I will have to do one by one (which is a LOT!) unless I can find a reverse procedure in the program I suspect caused this to happen. That program is Tag&Rename, and I suspect I accidentally added custom pictures to these folders when I was adding album art to the individual music files

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've had problems with my computer background for months -.- and it's really getting on my nerves. i'd like to find a solution to my problem.. when i right click my desktop, click properties, click desktop.. and browse and find the photo i want to set, it looks fine in the preview but when i apply it, half of it is off the screen in the corner. i tried changing it to stretch, center, tile, i re sized the image to my exact desktop size, i also tried different resolutions and still no change! please if someone can help.. i've googled this Many Many times but none of the solutions worked for me, i've also tried multiple images... View 13 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I try to work with a picture in an application the application crashes when the "my pictures" folder is viewed in Thumbnail.
examples:
1) From windows explorer when I go to My Documents click on My pictures and select thumbnail view and explorer crashes
2) if a picture is embedded in an email and I right click and select save "save picture as" the "my picture" folder pops up in thumbnail view and I get the error "ms outlook has encountered a problem...." if I report or don't report the error outlook crashes.
3) If I try to insert a a picture into excel...inset>picture>from file. The application opens the "my picture" folder in thumbnail view and then excel promptly crashes.
4) If I try to change the wallpaper on my computer and go to browse which opens "my picture" folder in thumbnail view and guess what...the application crashes. Here is get the error

I am using windows XP pro and MS office business edition 2003. I have a dell latitude d820 and I have recently have had the hard drive cleaned and everything reinstalled up to service pack 2 (service pack 3 eliminated that fax console which I use so I am NOT using SP3)

Looking under 'properties' it says there are 0 bytes, 0 files, 0 folders. But when I hit delete on the Milk Drop folder I get a message saying the "Directory is not empty". I've uninstalled, reinstalled and uninstalled Winamp to no effect. The main problem is that it prevents Norton Systemworks running properly. It gets stuck when doing the system (registry) checks and when running Windoctor Wizard it stops as soon as it reaches the MilkDrop folder.
I have a folder that I can not delete. I had a bunch of folders with music files in them. I was re-arranging, renaming, and deleting them. At the end of the day, there was one folder that I could not delete from the recycle bin. When I tried to empty the recycle bin, it would delete files until it got to this one. Then I would get the message:(Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk). I would then have to go into the recycle bin and delete the remaining files manually. But this one would still not delete out of the recycle bin.

I deleted all the folders from my desktop except one. I keep getting this error message that I cannot delete this particular folder because it is being used by another person or program and to close any programs that might be using the file and try again. View 10 Replies View RelatedHave accumulated 28 folders and subfolders of AAWTMP in C:Documents & Settings/UserName/LocalSettings/TEMP in the last couple months and am unable to delete any of them. Error msg says "Cannot delete Directory is not empty". There are NO files in these folders and properties show 0 bytes in every folder. This is reportedly a folder created by Ad-Aware at every scan and is supposed to be removed after the scan but I just kept accumulating them until the last week when it stopped. Now the AAWTMP folder opens in the same directory on an Ad-Aware scan but is removed after the scan is completed and the program is closed but I'm still left with these 28 undeleteable folders.I have located AAWTMP in the registry in several keys under Lavasoft and also AVG but deleting them there does no good. I have uninstalled Lavasoft to see if that would unlock them but it didn't.
Besides trying manual delete and renaming each individual folder, have tried CCleaner - Ad-Aware - Spybot - Ewido - Killbox -Counter Spy and Unlock and repeated these in Safe Mode under Administrator. Online scans Housecall/TrendMicro - Panda - Symantec show nothing.Opening the folders shows nothing at all, just empty folders, even though the error message continues to say that they are not empty. Nothing will delete them, so far.
