I have a Windows XP and when I turned on my computer this morning, my taskbar and start menu weren't the standard blue color, but grey, like an older version. I've tried fixing this in my control panel, but it just says I'm already using a blue taskbar & start menu. I really like the modern look of the blue taskbar.
This may seem trivial, but it's bugging me. I have a windows XP and i have the windows classic theme. Every time I put a picture as my wallpaper the color around the words under my icons doesn't blend in with the picture but stays a solid color, so there's like little boxes of blue of white. How do I make those icon words blend in with the picture?
My Windows instalation of 2000 has somehow gotten rid of my avail to use 16 and 32 bit color settings. I can not bring it back. 98 had it and now my view of some internet pages is horrible.
My 4 year old niece was using my parents Dell PC Desktop. Its a pretty new computer. She must have pressed something because now the color is all screwed up. It has a red hue to it and the blues are too bright and the start button isnt green, its black. The resolution only goes to 32-bit. There are no other options.
I have windows XP and there are a few things that are starting to get on my nerves. First, everytime I start the computer the Color Quality goes from 32 bit to 16 bit for no apparent reason. Second, my cat walked on my keyboard and now everytime I start up the computer the Magnifier comes up. Neither of these things get in the way of using anything. They're just annoying and I can't figure out how to fix them.
I just upgraded to x64 version from 32 bit XP. But to my disappointment, the display properties only show up to 32 bit. Where is the 64 bit option? Here is the hardware I have: I had thought that while playing games, wherever there would be unmixed colors, they would now be mixed properly, like steam coming in dark areas in a game, or too many colors not fading into each other properly. But looks like I would need to do with the 32 bit only I guess.
Windows XP has only three color schemes to choose from. I wondered if there was a way to add new color schemes (and for that matter, a place to specifically find new color schemes) without installing software like Style XP or WindowBlinds. I just want to configure the color scheme, not everything else. Can this be done?
Is their any way to change the windows color schemes. Im sick of the three colors blue, silver, and green. Can someone tell me how to get more colors. (I just want new colors not a whole new theme).
I stared having this problem after installing SP2 on my compaq presario with Windows XP Home Edition. I'm using sbc yahoo dsl as my ISP, when i run the sbcyahoo program to log in, the window appears but it's all white, the text is there but no background color(background is usually light blue), and when my browser opens to the home page is the same thing, and to make things worse the text on the page is way too big. I use both browsers IE and SBCYAHOO and it's the same problem, I already tried to change browser settings on both but I have no changes at all, also I tried going into different websites and they all have no background colors.
does anyone know how to get it to be the normal way (dont know how else to explain it) and by normal i mean for the descriptions to not be boxed around with a seperate color
I have Windows XP on a DELL. I tried to download the display monitor driver for E772C. When I tried to follow the instructions after downloading which told me to follow the following path: Right click on the background. Go to properties which pulls up display properties. Click on the Settings tab. Click on the Advanced button. Click on the monitor tab. Then it said to click on Properties but is grayed out so I still cant change the color to more than 4 bits.
I would like to know if it is possible to change the colour of the font we see on our desktop. Is it possible to change it to black or some other colour?
Some unknown application is running which causes the Taskbar and window buttons to appear with a mottled green and gray pattern. Changing Windows desktop themes and colors can reset the colors, but then when I start a new application, the screen goes black (indicating the display settings are changing), then comes back with the mottled pattern. I have used various tools to try diagnose what the culprit application is to no avail. I'm sure its some dumb thing my daughter downloaded knowingly or knowingly. I've used msconfig to stop some programs from loading that I thought would be the cause, but that didn't work.
I just got done reinstalling XP and now am having a few problems. I can't seem to be able to adjust the screen resolution/color. I don't have any sound. And I get messages about errors in the regisitry telling me to go to http://fixreg32.com to fix them (spyware?).
I have just started using XP pro. On previous Windows machines I have selected the color scheme of Rainy Day. I can not find this with XP. Can someone tell me where to find this as a download?
In windows 2000 I am trying to compress a folder. I did this by creating a file and I put some fake files in it and then right clicked the folder, selected tools, folder options, view and selected display compressed files and folders with alternet color. From what I was told the file names and folder name would turn blue. In my case just the file names turned blue. Why didn't the folder name turn blue as well?
I know this is simple but it's driving me nuts that I cannot fix it. The Help desk just updated my computer and now there are boxes surrounding the names of the desktop icons. I do not want these boxes. When I change the desktop color, it changes the color of these boxes. How do I fix this so there is no box and it is clear with just the names. I can't stand looking at this!
I am using Windows XP and for about 2 months (I guess) certain websites look funny. As an exmple, the background for Yahoo is white even though I have tried to change it to a theme that yahoo offers. The text size also is too big and all over the place- looks weird. I have tried everything I can think of but i am a novice and am wondering if there is some simple answer here or something else I can try? Is it XP or a problem with my browser? MSN also has only a white background with big letters that look awkward. If I try to change the background to blue, it won't do it. It's driving me nuts!
well my dads new high tech workstation that he just updated and prepared for professional work will not save themes as classic or keep his color settings.he sais at work when the optimized the pc that it worked great and as soon as he braught it home this started happening.does anyone know what could be the cause of this? basically everytime he sets the winows to "classic view" as soon as he restarts its back to normal.my dad is one of those ocd ppl so hes all getting freaked out over it.

Using, in Ctrl Panel Display/Appearance/Desktop, I've set the color as Lt. Blue. When I reboot, or even while I'm working, the color has changed to a darker blue.I've downloaded and installed new display drivers and I've restored to an earlier setup, but nothing works.
I got a virus. i took care of the problem but my desktop is just white. i still see the icons but the wallpaper is white. if i right click and go to properties i can change the base color but not the wallpaper design. if i go on the internet and set a picture as background it does nothing, but if i log off it will show.
Is there a way to select the color of text and icons in a deselected item. The stuff in the appearance tab permits color selection of the text in a selectedbutton -- one that will do something it clicked, but I can find no way to select the color of the text in a button that WILL NOT cause an action if clicked.
I recently changed the overall output to printers from B/W + color to only B/W to help on save a little cost on inks. Now I need to print with color and I can't find out how to get it turned back on. Where I changed it was before the printers so the each printer's properties won't let me change it. I should have wrote it down and soon will if I get a resolution here. The ink bars on the printing status blocks only show black ink so I know the command is set before them. Any help someone may give would be greatly appreciated.
