Jul 9, 2013When I started a video on vlc, windows media player (classic to), etc, i watch the video normally for about 6 minutes and then everything become slow even the windows system. So i exit the video and in about 30 seconds everything turns to normal.
I have a samsung 550p5c-s03PT and my specs are:
OS:Windows 8 64-bits
CPU: Intel Core i7-3630QM Quad Core 2.4
RAM: 8 GB DDR3-1600
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (2GB DDR3) and Intel HD Graphics 4000
The laptop is brand new and i have already installed the latest Nvidia Drivers. The same thing happen on google chrome on youtube videos when they are fullscreen..when i put them in "window mode" again they return to normal speed.
Windows Media Player - Video Is Unwatchable?
Nov 18, 2012I have dowloaded some videos from BBC iplayer to play via WMP, when I open the file the media usage rights are downloaded ok but the video is unwatchable.
If there is no sound the picture is fine bt as soon as there is any sound white and grey squares appear and the whole picture is jerky and distorted..(but the sound is ok)
Windows Media Player 12 - Video Lagging As HD
Dec 27, 2013I am having problems with my Windows Media Player 12 on my Windows 8.1 Enterprise PC, when I publish a video from my JVC Everio HD Camcorder (Model NO.: GZ-HM300SEK).
Every time I click to play a video and when I skip the video along.. the image freezes for 2 seconds and it continues with a stutter. I am guessing that the PC doesn't handle a bit of HD specs (if I am right).

Mar 5, 2014I don't know what's wrong but every time I try to play a video in the preinstalled video player it crashes. It'll open the video and even play it but between every 8 to 10 minutes it shuts down and brings me back to the start screen and I have to reopen the video and find where I was. I know it's not the video files themselves because it's happening on every video and I can watch the entire video, I just have to reopen it multiple time and find the spot it shut down on. I could use a different program but it's my favorite video player and I'd like to fix it if I could.

Jun 10, 2013When using Flash Player within IE10 in 8, audio and video synch is fine at standard small screen, but when I go to full screen they do not synch. The video is behind timing with the audio. It looks as though the video skips now and then trying to catch up with the audio. I dual boot with 7 and do not have a problem with Flash within IE10 there, so I'm assuming it's not hardware. This happens on any site using Flash.
All the settings in both Flash Players are the same. The only difference is that my 7 OS is 32 bit with 32bit Flash whereas my 8 OS is 64bit with 32bit Flash.

Sep 15, 2014I just installed the Shark007 Codecs and reboot the PC. Because, I need to play.MKV video files. I didn't change that plugin settings. Now when I play the AVI video files which has dual audio (two languages), now Windows Media player automatically playing both audio sounds.
When I search on the internet, I found that setting Haali as the AVI splitter in the AVI tab will fix it. Unfortunately, in my situation, it didn't work. After I choose Haali splitter, it shows "Windows media player encountered a problem while playing the file" error.
So how do I disable 2nd audio auto playback?

Nov 4, 2012I did the upgrade from win7 to Windows 8 x64. When I try to use wmp I get audio but no video. I have tried reinstalling my codecs and different codecs like sharks, klite etc. I have reinstalled my graphic drivers. I have tried add/remove features, but no look. Its the same with wmc. I can play videos with quicktime. I was going to try a refresh, but I have way to many programs to reinstall, and a Windows 8 inplace upgrade doesn't offer to keep my apps & settings.
How I can repair or reinstall wmp without wiping out my system and reinstalling all my programs?

Feb 19, 2014When I ran a video with subtitles in Windows 7 over RDP, the video worked perfectly but my subtitles didn't load. But when I played the same video in Windows 8 over RDP, they did.
Is there something...different about Windows 8's RDP that allows this to work?
Windows Media Center Doesn't Show Subtitles
Feb 12, 2013I'm mainly using WMC when I'm watching something. I have installed a few codec packs so most of the time it works fine.
I've got an episode of Naruto that suddenly didn't show the subtitles, though. (I've watch about 300 episodes of Naruto before this one and they all showed subtitles properly.)
At first I thought there was something wrong with the episode, so I opened it in Windows Media Player Classic (using CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack- which is the greatest thing since VLC) and it worked fine, showing subtitles with no problem. (However, the subtitles looked different, so I'm guessing there's another translator or something involved.)
So why doesn't WMC show subtitles when MPC does?
It's an .avi -file, and the subtitle is "built-in", so there's no extra file or anything.
EDIT: I tried with another Naruto Episode, which is in .mp4 format, and the subtitle works in both WMC and MPC. I still want my WMC to be able to play all files and subtitles, though.

It will list the site asking for permission to store information on my computer. The link I have attached below gives instructions on how to remove this pop-up. Is this flash player thing safe or is it some kind of virus or malware? The attached link refers to it as spyware. If I were to remove the Flash player program, will it affect playing games or whatever on my laptop.

Jul 23, 2014I got a new video card, namely the Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X to replace my old (broken) video card, namely the Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 Boost.
The problem is that I get no video signal when linking my new video card. The vga-led on motherboard turns on red (normally never) .
I thought my motherboard is broken, but then I tried the video card (Radeon HD 6950) from my brother and he just shows video signal. (vga-led turns not on red this time on motherboard) .
I would also say that on the box of my new video card is a 750 watt power supply recommended, but I only have a 600 watt power supply build in my pc.
Win 8 Video App And Flash Video In IE10
Nov 24, 2012I'm having severe playback problems with the Video app. Whenever I try to play any video from my PC (avi or mp4), it just freezes on the first frame while the audio continues. If I try to skip it will eventually play properly for 2-3 secs, but then go blocky and freeze again. I've tried playing videos that I rented from Xbox Video, and they play perfectly. All videos also play perfectly on both WMP and VLC. Is it just a very poor app?
I am also having trouble viewing any flash video content in IE10, both Metro and Desktop. Youtube will not play any video in Fullscreen; even at 480p, playback is jerky, with an almost "strobe" like effect on movement. When I was using Vista, IE would quite happily play Youtube videos at 720p in Fullscreen with no issues. If I try to play the front page video on Vimeo, the whole page freezes up. There is no option to disable video acceleration in the flash menu, so I am at a loss as to what else I can try. I have upgrade my graphics card from 256MB to 1GB in the hope it might make a difference, but it didn't. Have just downloaded Chrome and can play Fullscreen 1080p with that no problem.
I was wondering if the two issues might be related? I have looked and looked for Adobe Flash settings all over Windows 8 but can find nothing.
Why Does Win 8.1 Still Enable Superfetch On SSD

Well I did a clean install of 8.1 Pro and after I installed everything, I ran the winsat formal command in DOS so it can run WEI and do the needful
I noticed that Superfetch is still enabled/
I have 32 GB of RAM and an SSD why isn't it disabling it?
I know I can do that manually but I am wondering if it is beneficial to keep it on on my setup
This is how my RAM usage is after rebooting and leaving the system idle for 10 minutes:
On Windows 7 my RAM usage would've been much higher indicating that it is loading programs in the prefetch I'm not sure it is really doing anything on Windows 8 even though the service is active and enabled by default

Jun 12, 2014I recently upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 8.1 pro as I wanted to enable bitlocker encryption on the laptop.
The issue is that I can't seem to enable or find bitlocker in any of the area's outlined. When I try to right click on the C: drive I don't have an option for bitlocker. When I go into control panel, there's no bitlocker icon. When I do a search on the machine for bitlocker I do get a "manage bitlocker" icon, but it's doesn't do anything when I click on it.
I have followed the tutorial on this site and downloaded/installed the reg files to enable it on a non tpm device. Can see that they did update the policy on the machine, but still no joy.
When I go into PC info on the machine in question I don't see anything about bitlocker. It's like it's not there. Do you have to add a windows feature to enable it?
