So I can continue using the PC / Browsing etc and have that preview stay active ?

Not Able To Preview The Pictures - No Thumbnail
Aug 19, 2014I have a problem here, in the last two days, I can't see any preview of my pictures (not only pictures, but videos too). I've tried cleaning the old thumbnails using Disk Cleanup, but no work. Trying to untick the "Always show icon, not thumnail" in Folder Options, don't work too. Here is the screenshot:

Apr 22, 2014I have some trouble with thumbnail windows in tasks bar. A few days ago, maybe after official last windows update, but not sure, I found a very vexing bug in task bar. When I hover on task bar icons, the thumbnail windows pop-up and when I hover in it all the preview windows is goind under the opened windows but the thumbnail windows is still accessible so I even can close it but I can't see it. It's very inconvenient especially with couple of opened windows.

Apr 30, 2014Every since I updated my 8.1 to update 1 I have this annoying bug, the taskbar miniatures stop appearing and instead i have this annoying tooltip with whatever program's name I hovered last, that insists in staying above all other windows:
The only way to fix it is rebooting my computer, but it just comes back after a while.
I haven't found any link to any open program, any way I can debug this to find out why this is happening? I'm close to formatting the computer because of this annoyance.
Display EML In Explorer Preview Pane
Mar 14, 2013In Win 8 Windows Explorer, the preview pane seems to be able to display previews of all file types I really use except the type I use most-- eml email files. Is it possible to get the preview pane to show a preview of an eml file?
I have noticed that if I simply manually edit an eml file's extension from eml to mht-- it will be displayed in the preview pane.
I have hundreds if not thousands of eml files saved to disk. I really don't want to change all of them to mht because that eliminates email functionality of the file. Meaning, I would not be able to double-click the file, open it and respond to or forward it as an email message.
Mixed Language Display In Windows 8.1 Pro Preview
Aug 20, 2013I installed windows 8.1 pro preview successfully in English, and since I use French very often, I installed and changed the display language into French. I also checked two options concerning the welcome screen and account users to display them all in French and worked perfectly.
I noticed the watermark before changing the display language into French, then followed this method to remove it : How to Remove Windows 8.1 Preview Watermark | MyTechBlog the method worked fine, but when I changed into French the watermark turned out again, then repeated the same method until I removed it.
when I finished I noticed that "My Computer" which appears as "This PC" + "Control Panel" + when I open Control Panel everything appear in English. but my display language now is French except the aforesaid.

I'm using UxStyle and this theme: Windows 8.1 White Titlebar Dark theme by x0lis on deviantART . I tried:

Windows Media Player 12 - Video Lagging As HD
Dec 27, 2013I am having problems with my Windows Media Player 12 on my Windows 8.1 Enterprise PC, when I publish a video from my JVC Everio HD Camcorder (Model NO.: GZ-HM300SEK).
Every time I click to play a video and when I skip the video along.. the image freezes for 2 seconds and it continues with a stutter. I am guessing that the PC doesn't handle a bit of HD specs (if I am right).

Mar 5, 2014I don't know what's wrong but every time I try to play a video in the preinstalled video player it crashes. It'll open the video and even play it but between every 8 to 10 minutes it shuts down and brings me back to the start screen and I have to reopen the video and find where I was. I know it's not the video files themselves because it's happening on every video and I can watch the entire video, I just have to reopen it multiple time and find the spot it shut down on. I could use a different program but it's my favorite video player and I'd like to fix it if I could.

Jun 10, 2013When using Flash Player within IE10 in 8, audio and video synch is fine at standard small screen, but when I go to full screen they do not synch. The video is behind timing with the audio. It looks as though the video skips now and then trying to catch up with the audio. I dual boot with 7 and do not have a problem with Flash within IE10 there, so I'm assuming it's not hardware. This happens on any site using Flash.
All the settings in both Flash Players are the same. The only difference is that my 7 OS is 32 bit with 32bit Flash whereas my 8 OS is 64bit with 32bit Flash.

Sep 15, 2014I just installed the Shark007 Codecs and reboot the PC. Because, I need to play.MKV video files. I didn't change that plugin settings. Now when I play the AVI video files which has dual audio (two languages), now Windows Media player automatically playing both audio sounds.
When I search on the internet, I found that setting Haali as the AVI splitter in the AVI tab will fix it. Unfortunately, in my situation, it didn't work. After I choose Haali splitter, it shows "Windows media player encountered a problem while playing the file" error.
So how do I disable 2nd audio auto playback?

Mar 20, 2014I'm not sure if this problem is with the GPU, but I think it might be a good place to start.
Up until recently, I was running Windows 8.1 on a custom build with the following: Athlon II X4 610E processor, Silverstone NT01-E cooler, MSI 890-GX MoBo, 4GB OCZ DDR3/1333 RAM, Zotac GeForce GT 240 GPU, AuzenTech X-Fi Home Theater Sound Card, Western Digital 2TB Caviar Green, Corsair GT 120 SSD, Samsung SH-B083 ODD, and Silverstone NightJar ST40F PSU.
With this build I noticed that there was a certain tendency for the screen to "flicker" when the video changed (ie, starting a Netflix video, a Hulu video, movie on WMC, etc). It generally occurs at the start of a video and it's conclusion, being most annoying on Hulu because it does this at the start of a segment, just before the commercial break, and during the commercials.
Since I'm transitioning to gaming on my PC, I replaced several components, upgrading to a EVGA GeForce GTX 770 DUAL SuperClocked GPU, Intel Core i5-4570 processor (stock cooler), CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) RAM, ASUS Q87M-E LGA 1150 MoBo, and CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W PSU. I also reinstalled Windows 8.1.
I had hoped that this would clear up my issue as a side benefit, but that is not the case. In fact, in some instances it's frequency has increased, mostly only occurring at the times I've come to expect, but I was watching a Hulu video just a few minutes ago and the number of times the screen flickered was nearly unbearable.

Listed in alphabetical order it's how I can pull or access anything I may want @ any given moment w/out leaving Desktop to look for something. I simply scroll up & down for the desired item & it saves changing screens to go get something. A few, like Weather, Calendar, News I'll usually keep sitting on the APP Bar @ the top-left of the Desktop.

I have tried reinstalling my codecs and different codecs like sharks, klite etc. I have reinstalled my graphic drivers. I have tried add/remove features, but no look. Its the same with wmc. I can play videos with quicktime. I was going to try a refresh, but I have way to many programs to reinstall, and a Windows 8 inplace upgrade doesn't offer to keep my apps & settings.

Explorer Preview Pane Not Showing Preview
Feb 13, 2013I went from XP to Windows 8 Pro. With XP, a pictures folder allowed the icons to represent a small version of the picture; the filmstrip option was a nice bonus.
With Windows 8, the icon, no matter what size, has a generic look to it--same for all the pictures. I enable Preview Pane, and the same thing happens. No preview of the picture on the preview pane, just a much larger generic icon.
I see screen views on the web of it actually working, but I can't get it to.

It will list the site asking for permission to store information on my computer. The link I have attached below gives instructions on how to remove this pop-up. Is this flash player thing safe or is it some kind of virus or malware? The attached link refers to it as spyware. If I were to remove the Flash player program, will it affect playing games or whatever on my laptop.

Jul 23, 2014I got a new video card, namely the Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X to replace my old (broken) video card, namely the Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 Boost.
The problem is that I get no video signal when linking my new video card. The vga-led on motherboard turns on red (normally never) .
I thought my motherboard is broken, but then I tried the video card (Radeon HD 6950) from my brother and he just shows video signal. (vga-led turns not on red this time on motherboard) .
I would also say that on the box of my new video card is a 750 watt power supply recommended, but I only have a 600 watt power supply build in my pc.
Thumbnail Pictures Deleted - How To Restore
Jan 29, 2014My problem is that all my thumbnails that would normally show as the actual picture in any file or folder including ones saved to the desktop have all been replaced with a windows generic mountain and sun cartoon. The only way I can see what any individual picture file is ...is to physically click on it and open it up in a viewer. This is a royal pain to try to find any individual picture to say the least.
.I get a error message saying restore could not be completed...try choosing a different restore date.........I have tried them all.....same error message
