View 4 RepliesDue to my Windows XP ceased to being supported I have bought a new HP Pavilion 500-245ea desktop, intel core i5,6gb ram 2 TB Hard drive., with Windows 8.1 OS installed
I have tried and tried to send and receive emails with Outlook.com but I cannot get it to work, I have asked my 20 years old Grandson to have a go as well but without success, Outlook is now blocking every thing we try.
every thing else seems to be working fine and of course so much faster than my old computer.
Whenever I try to sync up my AOL account through the Mail app, it says that my email address "is unavailable". I try removing the account and re-adding it, all of my emails get re-synched, and then...nothing. Can't send emails, can't receive new emails. I tried checking and unchecking "sync mail", nada.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought an HP laptop last week and I am trying to learn about the features. I have spent 12 years with my old desktop with MSN as my provider using slow dial up.
I was surprised that my msn e-mail account was able to switch over to my laptop so easily, since Time Warner is my provider on the new laptop.
I can access the e-mails without a problem, but I can neither reply nor send e-mails.
Instead, I always get the pink writing beneath the e-mail address stating that " one or more e-mail addresses does not support this format sample@something.com. Yet all the formats are correct.
Why I can't send out anything?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had windows 8 . The most serious issue is my pop email. I had a Comcast email forever. It's attached to all my accounts - medical, business etc etc. Windows 8 doesn't work with pop emails so I bought and installed office 10 to use Microsoft outlook. I am missing at a least of half my emails. Important emails. I have spent countless hours troubleshooting with Dell, Microsoft.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm bravely tackling Windows 8 and am upset to find there is no button above web pages to 'send to mail recipient' or 'send link to mail recipient', which I found invaluable in XP.
The only way I could find to do it was create a shortcut on my desktop and then send that to a mail address but even that didn't work properly.
Still broken. FAX send will hang/redial. Didn't work in 8.1PV - may have functioned in 8.
The problem is FXST30.dll. Replacing it with the Windows 7 copy resolves it. This may require taking ownership.
I use Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) on my notebook, which has Windows 8. Quite often it loses read email, and I can't find them in any folder. I do NOT have Hotmail, and never have used Windows Messenger. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Windows Live Mail but the same thing happens with new install. Do I need to delete Windows Live Mail and install different email program? IF so,which windows email program should I use? I have 3 different email accounts that I use.

If I'm using Chrome and the "email this page" feature or using IE 10 and using the "emial with windows live", neither of them sends a clickable link. Why not? Is this fixable?
All I'm trying to do is move/organize my emails into folders, and although I can create a new folder, when the toolbar pops up, and I click on "MOVE", my screen greys out...has done this over and over.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would firstly like to say that I am no computing expert ( quite the opposite actually) and I find Windows 8 extremely confusing. I have set up( eventually) Windows 8 mail to receive mail from an extra email address as well as the initial one e.g [URL], and [URL]. Now, while I can read incoming mail from both, if I reply to mail coming in on the second address, the reply shows up as originating from the first address. How I can reply to an email that came in to the second address with that same address as point of origin?
View 8 Replies View RelatedNew Windows 8 machine. Want to keep my POP3 email, so have downloaded Windows Live Mail. WLM receives ok, but will not send. Error screen simply says 'Failed' under Status with no error designation. The WindowsLiveMail.log shows this at the point of the failure: "SMTP [rx] 535 Incorrect authentication data".
Now the weird thing is this: I have a Windows Vista machine running in the same room which also uses Windows Live Mail and it sends just fine. The account properties & settings (ports, checked boxes, login info, etc.) authentication data are identical on both machines.
In addition, the same settings are used in my iPad mail app and it sends just fine. But WLM on Windows 8 just won't send. I have uninstalled WLM and redownloaded it, but the same problem. FYI, my antivirus is Avast, and it is set to not scan outbound mail.
I have a laptop with Windows 8.1 x64 with everything up to date. It has the Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, that has Bluetooth 4.0.
I've added my smartphone, and I can send files from my laptop to my smartphone. But when I try to send something from my device to my laptop, it fails. My laptop doesn't show any prompt about "Do you wanna receive this file" or something like that. My smartphone shows a "Sending file..." dialog, but nothing happens.
I installed the stock Bluetooth driver provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, but nothing changed except for one thing: my smartphone automatically sent me that the shared file failed. With the latest BT driver, the dialog of "Sending file..." stays for a long time.
This happens with all the smartphones I've tried. I formatted the laptop like a month ago, and BT at that time was working perfectly, I could send and receive files. My laptop is working great except for this annoying problem.
I have a new HP desktop, 8 months old, with Windows 8. Send To has never worked properly. The only items showing are BD-ROM DRIVE (E), or Removable Disc (F) when a flash drive is inserted.
I cannot find the Send To folder using, Run > shell:sendto, or with Search. I have used Refresh with no result. As the Send To has never worked from new, it would appears to be missing from the software, or the software as written is unreliable. A software update would seem to be what is required to resolve the problem.
From the number of inquiries on line and in the forums, it appears to be a major problem. Can we hope for a resolution when 8.1 is released. It did work perfectly with XP, Vista, and Seven after all.
I have an old desktop PC (circa 2002) running XP
On that PC, I have been using Office Professional Plus 2010 & Outlook to access my email account (POP)
I just purchased a Windows 8 laptop. Since the Windows 8 Mail app will not work with POP email accounts, my email/internet access provider (Comcast) recommended using Windows Live Mail (I'm using 2012 version). This works fine for new emails. However, I have not been able to find a way to "move" the historical emails from my Outlook 2010 (PC) to WinMailLive (laptop.)
Exporting the emails from Outlook 2010 creates a .PST file which is not recognized by WinMailLive.
I tried using MailStore, but it will only archive email from the Inbox for POP accounts.
Any way to move emails from Outlook 2010 to WNL 2012, that is easier than forwarding all the historical emails to myself from the Outlook PC & then reorganize them in WML on the laptop?
After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, Internet pages and emails load slowly. After reporting this to a 2nd level MS Support person, he still hasn't fixed it though he has spent a lot of time on it so far. I finally Googled about the issue and found that many others were having the same problem. I have heard that disabling IPv6 has corrected the problem. I tried it but I couldn't do the last step to create a new DWord. After upgrading, I installed the latest drivers for the motherboard.t's about like the days of dial-up modems! Why can't Microsoft resolve this issue soon? I have checked my Internet connection for "speed" and it's not the problem. The only thing I changed was the OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new HP computer. Came with 8.1 and IE 11. Recently had windows XP pro, worked fine but needed to get a new machine. Anyway, lost outlook express, took a while to figure out to add windows live mail and set it as default, so now the "icon" in IE 11 works. Yahoo mail is my main guy but couldn't get it to set as default, although my Yahoo still works. So back to the issue, in IE 11, if I click on "File" / Sent, the "sent to" is greyed out and thus it won't work.
Computer is really slow, that will be the next challenge and what stuff to safely uninstall.

The first time I tried to download a word document from an email, a message came up asking how I wanted to download documents and I accidentally chose to open it in Internet Explorer. Now every time I try to download a word document from emails of any source (college site, work site, personal email) I get a message that Internet Explorer is not responding and the email never downloads.
I don't want to download the the files into Internet Explorer (even if that did work). I often need to edit these documents or work as a collaborative group on online assignments. Now I cannot even access them
