Sometimes when I restart or shut down and restart my system, the folder option somehow are being changed. I have to go to the folder options in control panel and reset the options to default. this will correct the condition until the next time restarted. I believe the condition existed before the update from 8 to 8.1 ....

Is it possible that virus cause this problem? It's actually impossible cause I have KIS2013 and it is updated.
Cant access to see hidden files and folders. I would suspect a virus, but iam not sure that's even possible. I got Malwarebytes, Super Anti Spyware and Malwarebytes Anti Root Kit, all show 100% clean. I need to see these files?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the folder "Download master" and "Eltima Software" can be seen via program "flash decompiler" where as under windows explorer it doesn't show it. on rightside you can see I disable all hidden system files, enable show hidden files, I have also tried to type in directory path on the top of window explorer and nothing works, although I'd assume cmd will work and will show under dir but thats not what I want.I have also searched net can't find any information about this Download Master folder and its around 2 MB.

But the same i checked with window 7,it is showing 1 extra drive whenever hardware plugged in,The ptoblem is only with windows 8 &8.1.
When i inserted hardware in windows 7,file showing its disk drive as CDFS so i think there is some malware related to CDFS in windows 8.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed windows 8 on an Acer aspire 8320TG with AMD HD 6370 graphics card. This laptop is according to Acer not suitable for windows 8 but it worked. However, my screen is extended to the right and I can't switch this off. Since I don't have a second monitor I only notice this when my mouse sometimes gets lost or when I make a screenshot. I tried changing some settings in the "screen resolution" dialogue, without success. Am I just not finding the right settings for that or is it some compatibility-issue?

However, i just made a new account (microsoft) and i installed this one app. I did not like it very much so I uninstalled. However, when i log in at my market and browse to my apps, under the Apps installed in device Sotxxxxx it shows that very app there, saying at the bottom "Not installed". What can i do? This app is also shown under Apps not installed in this device. I was thinking about deleting the current account, as i use different e-mail provider and create it again with same username.

A week ago, i turned on my laptop and discovered that my sound wasnt working. I cheaked the sound menu, it told my that the speakers were not plugged in. I looked in the recording menu which told me my build in mic was not plugged in.
I was able to have sound by plugging my laptop into my tv with a HDMI lead.
I got fed up with a slow laptop and no sound so i decided to reset my laptop, when the reset was finished my mic and speakers worked. I turned it off and when i woke up i turned it back on to find my mic and speaker was "not plugged in". All my drivers are up to date and i have no updates to do.
I just noticed my contacts from my Live account are not the same as the ones shown in my Windows 8 mail app (People). Looking closer at the properties in my phone, I noticed that some say Hotmail and other say Verizon Backup Assistant Plus.
My question is how do I get all the ones backed up by Verizon but included in my Live account so show up on my desk top(Hotmail Type)? How can I convert the contact type from Verizon to Live?

I ran memory diagnostic before, it show no errors.

When I'm in file explorer and click on My Pictures, it shows all my libraries. I don't want it to do this. This does not occur when accessing any other library.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed a pretty clean install of Windows 8 Pro (I used the upgrade, but I did the upgrade immediately over top of a clean windows 7 install). It is installed on an intel SSD. I haven't installed any applications or added any documents, or files. However, when I go to file explorer and right click on my drive it shows that I've used 69GB of space on the SSD! That's after doing disk cleanup and removing the previous windows files and temporary upgrade files. I couldn't believe Windows was taking up 69GB, so I investigated further. If I select the drive in file explorer and then select every folder displayed, and then right click and select properties, then it only comes up as about 13GB. Is there a known problem with Windows 8 computing space useage on SSD drives?

Is it because the network settings had network visibility option checked 'on'.

I just upgraded Win 8 on my Acer Iconia W3 Tablet (x86) to Windows 8.1. But now I have the problem that in the settings-app and in the righten menu (e.g. the search-function) every text is just a white (or sometimes black) box. In other Apps and on the desktop-applications the text is displayed correctly; and before I have installed Windows 8.1 everything was fine too. View 3 Replies View RelatedLately I have noticed a high disk usage with the computer using task manager. Things that cause this spike is conducting normal operations just as opening an application or the web-browser.
I do not recall seeing any disk usage on task manager for the past few weeks except yesterday (perhaps I did but I do not remember). It appears to me as if those application are using the HDD as RAM even though there is space on the 8GB memory. So I am not entirely sure.
I would like to know if it is normal for applications such as Chrome to be using the disk space? And if so, what may be causing high disk usage?
after doing a clean install of Windows 8 pro 64bit and installed windows updates.After the first restart "My computer" desktop icon shown up as "My Computer 32 bit" .I had some customized context menu on right click and that dissapeared too,the context menu customization still exists on registry at the computer clsid but no luck with the "My computer 32 bit" desktop icon that Im having now.....

The tabs for MSN and another user specific opening page can be seen above the Desktop window. I could not find a way to alter this strange behaviour or find its cause.
The laptop is new and has displayed this problem previously and returned to normal behaviour without input from the owner/user. The problem recurred after a restart following the installation of TeamViewer and Malwarebytes AntiMalware.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a couple weeks I have been streaming shows to my ps3 from my computer. On my PS3 I have access to four folders, Videos, Music, Pictures, and Playlists, the first three of which I can locate on my computer. When I want to watch a video, I simply copy it into the Videos folder on my computer, then stream from there.
Now I'd like to stream music, my problem is that my music isn't in my Music folder, I have it in a separate folder that doesn't show up on my PS3. Copying over all my music would take time, and I'd also have to redo my WMP playlists. I have tried adding this folder to my shared folder list, and to my Music library, but neither of these things made a difference.
I've spent a couple hours now trying to figure this out, but I can't seem to find anything on google that relates to my specific problem, but there is absolutely no way I'm the first person who's ever wanted to access folder's other than the 4 I've mentioned.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am the ONWER of my PC and should aloud to edit whatever files I want, but windows knows best so fine... ok... I enabled access to the hidden admin account. Because our user accounts that say admin is a way for windows to make us think we are system admins when we arnt. Every guide in the world says once the hidden admin account is enabled it will have no login password... mine does... what do I do? This PC is fresh out of the box no password was set. I need access to the hidden admin account unless this hidden admin is someone who payed for this PC and didnt tell me? Then Id assume I have the right to use my admin account on the PC.
