Possible To Download Windows 8 Update Packages To Install From USB?

Is it possible to download win8 update packages to install from USB?
I have many machines all trying to update at the same time over wifi and takes hours just for the check to finish and many many hours for the updates... I figured if I could download a batch to USB, copy to few USB sticks then pop them on?
I want to upgrade a computer from Windows 8 to 8.1 but I have a very low download allocation (2GB/month) at that computer. I would like to download the upgrade on another computer (a Mac) that has a much higher download allowance and then transfer that to the computer I need to update. Is this at all possible?
I've been trying to download windows update on a fresh install of windows 8 pro with different dvds like Windows 8 Pro With media center & without media center{With & without activating it}. But every time I tried downloading it I get "Code 8024402F Windows update ran into a problem". I've checked my internet connection which is ok, I've tried downloading it with Windows defender, Windows firewall and Windows smart screen off but to of no avail
I've tried for several days after several reboots, etc. I am running a Dell OEM version of Windows 8 on an Optiplex. It just sits at "Downloading" and when I hover over it it says "0% complete". Apparently I can't use the ISO because I need a key which the OEM version does not have. how I can get this thing to update?
If you have, say, two laptops both running Windows 8.1, and it gets to the monthly Microsoft update Tuesday it seems crazy to have both machines independently downloading the same set of updates totalling around 300MB as was the case yesterday. Is it possible for one machine to run the updates, and then share the download files with another machine - whether via the local network (LAN) or via a usbkey or other media?
Certainly on my linux machines I have one machine run udpates and I then share the update package cache with all other machines saving considerable bandwidth on my home broadband connection. It would make a lot of sense to be able to do the same for Windows machines running the same version of Windows. The saving would increase even more if there was more than two machines in the same household such as if all members of the same family had their own machine.
I am on a limited speed line and Windows 8.1 has started to download the update. I now find that is it is some 3G in size and that will take days. How can I stop the download?
How can I stop the download of Windows 8.1?
Effectively I cannot do any online work until I can stop the download hogging the limited bandwidth.
I have check for updates set to Never. Occasionally I manually check for updates. Thing is, after 10 minutes I get the same 40 important and 2 optional update descriptions. Is there some way to set the high water mark so that I only get new notices without installing any updates? It's not exactly intuitive.
I have an xps 8500 and it won't update to windows 8.1 from the store. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the update KB2871389 and nothing happens. . I am also running in administrator mode while I am doing this and the windows troubleshooter says something about admin privileges.
When I going to download .Net Framework 3.5 (include .net 2.0 and 3.0) using the windows features, I got the error 0x800F0906in many times... then i try to install using with DISM using the below command,
The source files could not be found. Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.
The DISM log file can be found at C:WindowsLogsDISMdism.log.
Because of this i am stuck with all my work and really fed up with this both CBS and DISM log files are here [URL] ....
I got this Gateway this last year, and in the "store" it says to upgrade to 8.1, and I have tried and tried and it says that the download has failed, and cannot install. I have called microsoft support, and was on the phone with them for a couple of hours, and he escalated support to the engineers, they also called, and I allowed them remote access, to come to the conclusion, that my connection is too slow to upgrade to 8.1. So, I went to an open network and tried it, to no avail.
When I try to download Metro apps from Windows Store, I receive an error message saying "Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again later. Error code: 0x80010108".
I Googled it and tried to reset Windows Store cache by wsreset.exe but it didn't work. It occurs to every app I try to install.
I'm having trouble with installing Java. My PC mentioned that my java version is too old and that i need to download and install the latest version, but when i do. it reports an error of being unable to download it.
Here is what it said, unable to download [URL] .... for installation.
I purchased a Windows 8 Pro licence through a classified advert on another forum in Sept 2013 and now since Windows XP is no longer supported I decided to update my OS. I thought I got a good deal on the licence and when I went to try download an official Windows 8 file I couldn't. I contacted Microsoft who informed me my licence is a valid Windows 8 Pro VL licence. They were unable to provide me with a physical ISO to download from and told me to ask the person I purchased it from... who of course has since disappeared.
So I downloaded the Windows 8 Pro x64 ISO from MSDN, installed great, product activated perfectly, my old pc is running and booting fast and I actually like it. However when I try to update the scroll bar just constantly scrolls left to right and the progress bar shown at 0%.
I have googled, and deleted the folder called the DOWNLOAD folder in SoftwareDistribution following advice online, however this still does not fix the problem. Occassionally I have got the files to download after the 0% progress says different, and when it comes to install these update files, nothing happens.
Is it because I downloaded a dodgy OS version from MSDN? it is the 915417.iso that I used.
Also can I update to Windows 8.1? When I installed the first few times I tried to update through the Windows Store. it said I require updates. Some files might have updated, I did a "shut down and update" option once and since that the option of installing Windows 8.1 has disappeared.
I have installed windows 8.1 Update 1 after lots of issues and now this update has become a nightmare now .I have been getting BSOD from them when I play some game (Steam Dota ) most of times was getting this BSOD
I installed windows 8 pro and here are the issues I am having.
Every time I install (Pro Disk) when it finishes and restats, it goes right back to the beginning of the install Once I can get it installed, once the first screen spins, it stays black, but if I sleep and wake it, it goes right to the sign in screen-weird.
Then, it says no updates have been searched or ever installed, when I search I get the Error Code 80248007 cannot update.
I can't do clean install for win 8.1 update 1 retail pro version, due to product key problem.i tried many keys still the same problem, key isn't valid, the key that i bought is working only when upgrading from windows 7 only?
When I search for updates with windows update it finds the drivers I want but it gives me an error message whenever I try to install them.
I already tried downloading the latest windows update (when I install it, it says the update was succesful and asks me to restart, but when I search again after restarting the update shows up again and lets me install it again).
I also tried deleting and renaming my software distribution folder and using the windows troubleshooting program.
Overall I'm not really too fussed about most of the things it's trying to install apart from the drivers for the wireless reciever for my xbox controller as it won't work without them. When I try to install the driver files through device manager it gives me this error message
my main reason for mentioning the windows update problem is that I assume the problems are linked as the wireless reciever works perfectly on my laptop. Up to about a week ago it also worked perfectly on this computer using the same usb port that it uses now.
As you can see, on the 19th, it suddenly began to say "NULL DRIVER". I checked my system restore and it tells me that I installed a windows update on that day just before it suddenly stopped working. I tried reverting back to this restore point (before the update) and nothing had changed, the device still would not work.
i have recently installed windows 8.1 on a new extended partition while keeping my windows 8 in previous partition. do i need to install the store windows 8.1 update ? as shown in another thread this looks like it has the update
i tried to install winrar 5.10 beta 4 on windows 8.1 update 1 and i received a meessage from windows:this sofware can not be installed on this pc.contact the company from the software.
So I had to do a System Repair thing where Windows would repair itself and removing all my apps but keep my documents, photos and music etc. So I was reinstalling every program again and also wanted to install the updates.
But I ran into 0x800f0922 error code and I couldnt install them. (I run Windows 8.1 Pro) I was trying to install Adobe Photoshop but couldnt continue cuz .NET framework 3.5 was required. But after trying to manually download + install I got the same error (0x800f0922). I've tried almost every cmd command but couldnt fix it.
I just reinstalled Windows and tried installing the updates again, but same thing. I cannot install any update at all.
I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 and yesterday evening I updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1. This went good. Only this morning I noticed my webcam don't work anymore. Before the update it worked fine. I use it daily to talk with my girl.
The only applicatie we use it for is facebook. When I use Dell Systeem Detect, and I let it check my webcam, it shows and it gives images. So I think it is not a problem of the hardware.
I also tried to download Dell Webcam Manager 2.0 but that says I dont have a special card in my laptop. Also when typed in my service tag in de website, I didn't get any new drivers / programs for the webcam.
