Network / Sharing :: WiFi Connects But Say Limited Connection

i have a lenovo idea pad that will connect to wifi but says limited connection. I can use the iternet via ethernet cable with no issues. My ISP is comcast and I have one of their modems that came with wifi im guessing it doubles as a router seeing i direct connect to it with my laptop. however my wifi works for my xbox one, a nexus 7 tablet a xbox 360 ,a printer and two smartphones with no issues what so ever. They are not all on at once so max connections shouldnt be a issue. I've spent hours on the phone with comcast and they insist its the laptop and not the wifi, how to go about fixing the issue. I've checked the drivers and their up to date then uninstalled and reinstalled still no luck. i use firefox for browsing and AVG for antivirus.
I just bought a dell xt2 on ebay it came with windows 8 pro. My problem is that it goes into limited connection every ten minutes, even when i am next to the router. The error I get when i trouble shoot is the Default gateway is not available.
I Just Upgrade My Laptop Windows From 7 To 8.1 But I Have Lots Of Limited Wi-Fi connection And I Just downloaded The drivers For Win 8 From Hp Website But Still Have It And The Only annoying Fix Is When I Do The troubleshooting Think Its Says default gateway Not available Or something Like That . My Laptop Is Hp G7 Wireless Driver is Broadcom 4313GN 802.11 B .
I just traveled to a place where there is supposed to be wifi and I am staying here for a while. The wifi connects well through Ipod, but when connecting through windows 8 it accepts the password but tells me this connection is limited.
I searched through some threads and did some of the solutions such as the netsh reset for example but none have worked so far. Should I do a factory reset to my laptop?
My Windows 8 laptop is having some WiFi connection issues.
Basically what happens is that every 5-20 minutes I cannot access the internet on browsers and the wifi connection is listed as "Limited".
The laptop: ASUS Vivobook S200E
The WiFi: Sky wireless router (no idea about model, it's almost two years old) But what I will say is that my Windows 7 laptop never skips a beat on this network, nor does my wife's Mac, nor do our 2 Android tablets, the iPad, the iPhone, the Android phone, and various devices that our friends connect when they come round. Literally no other device has any problems on this network, so I know (by the process of elimination) the Windows 8 laptop is the one with the problem.
In order to fix the issue I have to disconnect from the network, wait about 30 sec and reconnect again.
My laptop is few months old HP Pavilion g6 OS: Windows 8 uses a ralink rt5390r 802.11bgn wifi adapter.
The wifi was working just fine suddenly it stopped. It detects my home network but every time it tries to connect ends up "unable to connect to this network". It connects to my friends wifi but not mine. And it connects with cable.
There is a red cross on the wifi network but it's green not GREY. It is not a modem problem because the other PC connects just fine. When I'm on wifi, cmd ipconfig gives me disconnected media for all the network cards on the laptop. Command netsh shows failure and access denied.
What I have tried to do for the past week :
I upgraded the adapter/ driver. My windows is fully updated. I re-installed the network card. I tried a USB wifi. I uninstalled the private server. I uninstalled my Norton because I thought it was blocking the connection I also deactivated the windows fire wall. I changed the SSID and PSW ... nothing worked. and of course I tried restarting, resetting, rebooting, deactivating and activating, disabling and enabling every single thing but nothing works.
I have an HP Pavilion g7-2233cl Laptop running Windows 8. I bought it new (refurbished) about a year and a half ago.
Until recently, I’ve had no problem connecting to the Internet via WiFi. But recently, although everything says I’m connected to our home WiFi and things are working swimmingly, I cannot access anything on the Internet. I get messages like “Unable to connect” or “Cannot show this page.”
We have other computers on the same WiFi, and none of them are having a problem.
I’ve tried several remedies based on tips I’ve seen on the Internet (using a different computer, of course). For example, I:
Deleted all the temp files.
Flushed a bunch of stuff using the Admin. Command Prompt: ipconfig /flushdns nbtstat –R nbtstat –RR netsh int ip reset c: esetlog.txt
I have a tiny wireless piece from realtek that my dad had bought. This piece was working fine up until recently. I had built my own tower and put the piece in there from our old one.. All has been working up until now. Now when I turn on my new tower the wifi connects but does not work. No browsers load and none of my services are working. It also messes up the wifi connection for the other devices around. My sibling will be using their laptop playing something like WoW and when I power up my tower the lag hits. From time to time it will drop my laptop's internet connection entirely. However, this is not the case recently. The router we use is a linksys e2000.
Every now and then the pages load but they are slow and blocky. My dad says it is usually caused by a loss of packets but I did the packet test in cmd and only had a 1% loss.
My connection just went 'limited connection' but I can browse and download on the web with ease. Also, my metro apps like mail, and news, facebook does not update, and also it's live tiles. Windows store app says it can't connect to the internet.
I'm using an Nvidia nForce ethernet built in an Asrock n68c-s ucc motherboard.I tried to find updates for this nvidia nforce but managed to get only for windows 7. so installed it, and nothing happens.
Recently, something odd has been happening. On initial start up of my PC, the network fails. It will show the yellow exclamation point and show as limited. When this happens, I cant even ping my directly connected router. It shows as PING: Transmit failed. General Failure.
So far since this started happening, restarting works. Is there any way to figure out what the cause is? My drivers are up to date and it may have started when I updated to 8.1 but im not 100 percent sure. Not sure if there are any logs I can look at to see what isnt happening correctly when this occurs.
I just bought my daughter a Lenovo running Windows 8 and when I try to connect to my Wi-Fi I am getting Limited connection only and can't figure it out.
My computer keeps listing the internet connection as "limited". It does this randomly, I don't know when it will happen next. Restarting router/computer fixes it sometimes, but not all the time. Sometimes it takes about 4 restarts of the router until I get a proper connection. Trouble shooting merely describes the problem as having no connection and tells me to reconnect the router. This takes around 5 minutes each time and I'm getting tired of doing this, as it interrupts skype calls, games and conversations.
I'm having problems with my sony vaio connecting to the internet. For one thing it doesn't pick up wireless signal as far away as the other laptops in the house. The main problem though, is that often the bars will be lit up as if it is connected but there will be a little yellow warning triangle saying limited.
When it happens, I try disconnecting/reconnecting and turning the router on and off but most of the time I just have to wait until it comes back. Once it is connected it works fine. It is fairly a fairly common occurrence and happens every day.
We have an Eircom router and the wireless card (according to the outside of the box) is: Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11bgn).
I've been having a problem since I updated to Windows 8.1My internet wi-fi connection is unusually low and is not working after only minutes of browsing the internet. The problem is always fixed after I run troubleshoot problems and is saying that the default Gateway is unavailable. My netword card might be the source of the problem even tough I updated the drivers. I'm not sure which one I have because drivers from Ralink and Qualcomm seem to be working both.
I just got my new computer today and first thing I did after setting it all up was try and connect to the internet. I plugged in my ethernet cable I would only get "Limited Access" to the router I've spent the last 10hours+ trying to find a solution but not a single has worked now what to do.
I've tried manually putting IP/DNS but nope no luck. I've uninstalled drivers and reinstalled drivers, restarted router tried various cmd commands but I really just dont know what to do anymore.
So I bought this new Samsung Ativ book4, for some reason at random times the wireless goes to a "limited connection" and I have to reboot the computer to get a full connection. Do you think this is hardware or driver?
I heard Windows 8 is not very friendly with wireless drivers and Windows 8.1 is suppose to have better support for wireless drivers.
I am frequently getting page not found errors, and am having to reload, pages take a long time to load and it's pretty much 50-50 wether it will or not load at all.
I've tried rebooting my router. I have a Vergin Media 'Super Hub' which is only two months old.
When I am connected to my college's network, it works just fine, but every few minutes or so, my WiFi network connection suddenly goes to "Limited" and I lose my internet access. It doesn't actually disconnect, but it just says it is limited. If I disconnect and reconnect, it works fine, but then a couple minutes later it does it again. I can't seem to see any pattern to it, but sometimes I think it happens more when I am in a full-screen application like a game or Netflix or something. Also, this only seems to happen in my dorm building. If I go to another building, and connect, it seems that the problem goes away.
I just bought a Lenovo Y500 a couple of days ago and it came with a pre-installed Windows 8 everything seems working fine but when it comes to Wifi it randomly disconnects a lot , sometimes shows limited access and most of the time the signal strength bars keep going up and down.
I purchased a new Windows 8, Inspiron 15 7000 series - 7537 last December. I had been using a router at a hotel for the time, and it worked correctly. When I arrived home, I had a Belkin router, and i experienced network issues in that i could not connect to the wifi. I could connect with Ethernet cable. The problem was fixed through customer support eventually, but I now have a new Comcast router, and i'm experiencing what appears to be the same or a similar issue. I can access the internet fine by wire. With wifi, it says i have access to the internet over the internet icon in the bottom right, but i cannot access webpages. I can use skype, and communicate through it.

I really need the wifi on this router working for this laptop. Let me note that it works on other laptops, so it should be an issue with hardware or settings on this laptop.
I have an Acer Aspire laptop with Windows 8.1. My main modem is located downstairs in my house, with a laptop connected to it (it works fine, never any issues). Before, I had a router wired upstairs to connect my laptop to. Here's the problem - it doesn't matter if I am using a wireless or a wired connection, I get a limited connection. I will have Windows troubleshoot the problem, and it always says that the problem was that the Default Gateway is not Available, and it will say that it is fixed. However, this randomly happens over and over anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes after I just "fixed" it.
I have just recently tried running a wire across my house to plug directly into the modem. This worked for a while, but the same thing started happening. Keep in mind, there is also a laptop wired directly to the modem downstairs in my house. I believe (but I haven't checked this in a while) that if I connect to the WiFi from my modem downstairs, it works fine.
I recently bought a new laptop (Lenovo T440s, Win 8.1 Pro w/ update 1, Intel 7260AC). I've tried connecting via wireless in multiple locations, and haven't had any problems except in one location, which is at my office's public access WiFi. I can get onto the network and get internet access on my win7 laptop, and on my Surface 2. With the new Lenovo it appears that I've connected to the wireless network, but have no internet connection. When I initially select the network I get connected, and can open a web page. But then it switches to a "limited" connection and I no longer have access.
Windows defender/firewall is on. No other security things that I know of (I deleted the Norton trial that came with it).
There is a screen that comes up when I log on with any device that asks you to accept that you will not download porn, steal the firstborn child, etc. I've bookmarked the page and been able to push the button to agree, but I still lose the connection shortly after that.
I don't have the internet connection anywhere on the computer (this isn't just a browser issue).
I've tried reinstalling the wireless driver. No luck. I have the most recent version (17), and I've also tried installing the Intel PROset/wireless software as noted in this thread (BT Public Wifi works on Windows 7 but not Windows
8.). But quite honestly I'm not totally sure what to try doing after that is installed. I ran the diagnosis tool, and got a failure on the ping test (No Response: default gateway, DHCP server).
I recently bought a dell inspiron 5520 laptop and I am able to connect to internet using my broadband ISP username and password and they had provided their own modem which works like a charm..
But as soon as I try to connect my laptop to LAN using the Ethernet cable in my room it says "LIMITED CONNECTIVITY" and while fetching the details of connection it shows -
IPV4 - NO INTERNET ACCESS AND IPV6 NO INTERNET ACCESS
Though it shows large amount of data sent and received.. and hence I am not able to surf internet.. All my frnds are able to do the same using their laptops in my room ..
And as for the wifi... It scans for networks and shows limited connectivity and I cannot access net .
I recently did an upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit to Windows 8 Pro 32 Bit. I am been experiencing an issue with my wifi connectivity only on my Windows 8 Laptop (Limited Connectivity)
Apart from that the Wifi works perfectly with my Windows 7, and other mobile platforms etc. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and the problem still persist. I've got a Acer Travelmate 5742G

I have a relatively new HP Envy (H8-1485ea), with no modifications made, running windows 8. I have had the been using it with a wired connection at university with no problems and on return home connected wirelessly. Initially I encountered no issues, however after about 2 days the status of the connection went to limited and has remained that way since.
On running the windows troubleshooter it stated that the "wifi doesn't have a valid ip configuration".
I searched and found to run the commands which resolved similar problems: netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ip reset rest.log hit
However as shown in the attached image for the second command resetting failed. I have also attached my ip configuration.
So my wifi drops randomly I have done almost everything I found on my goggle search such as; Unchecking power management, Max Power performance, resetting my tcp(think that's it), something involving ipconfig, and countless other things.
I really want to start back gaming on my pc but the random wifi drops really ruin my experience.
Also I may have a DNS server problem? My wifi is working fine on my gaming consoles, phones, and my mom's laptop.
My Brand new Laptop: Lenovo g505 after upgrading it to windows 8.1 from MS Apps store now i am not able to connect to internet i get "limited" or "No Internet Access". i have tried to re install the driver no luck
Lenovo support suggests to do factory rest but i dont want to go back to windows 8 ...
OK, it seems like I'm part of the vast conspiracy to not have 8.1 connect to the internet. Here is what's going on;
Wifi indicator shows "!" and reads "limited".
When I open the browser and click to diagnose the issue it runs through and ends with a message saying the default gateway has been fixed. About every fifth time it'll give me "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken." This computer works fine when plugged directly into the Ethernet cable from the router. Every other device on the router (other pc, xbox) work fine.
- Brand new Toshiba E55-A5114 with 8.1 - Performed all Windows updates, driver updates, then Toshiba updates - I have power cycled both router then modem, and modem then router - I have updated the driver for my network adapter Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 - I have disabled/enabled, uninstalled/installed the driver thru the Device Manager - In CMD I have flushdns, netsh winsock reset - Made sure the power management box is unchecked

My ISP provides service only via 802.11. I use laptop A most of the time. The captive portal for the service provider only allows one login per account at a time. The policy is intended to prevent multiple people sharing one account. It's just me, I'm the only user, but very occasionally I'd like to have a 2nd laptop access the internet simultaneously. No abuse, just the simple convenience of not having to logout from A if I need to use B for 30 seconds.
What I want to set up seems simple and it probably is:
WiFi Internet <---> Laptop A <---> ethernet cable <---> Laptop B
Such that Laptop B can share A's active WiFi connection without having to request its own unique address from the ISP.
At present, Laptop A has its network interfaces set up so: - WiFi is connected, active, functional. Selected the "Yes turn on sharing and connect to devices" in sidebar. - Under the wired network properties IP Version 4, I manually set addresses to be IP 192.168.10.1 Subnet 255.255.255.0 Gateway 0.0.0.0
Laptop B has only a wired network, set to IP 192.168.10.2 Subnet 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.10.1
A & B can connect directly to each other, share folders, etc.
What do I need to do in order to get laptop B to transparently use A's WiFi connection? My guess is that A needs to be set up to do some routing between the internet side and the 192.168.10 subnet, and B needs to be set up to look to A as its "ISP" ... but I don't know where to begin.
