So I bought this new Samsung Ativ book4, for some reason at random times the wireless goes to a "limited connection" and I have to reboot the computer to get a full connection. Do you think this is hardware or driver?
I heard Windows 8 is not very friendly with wireless drivers and Windows 8.1 is suppose to have better support for wireless drivers.
when i connect my hp probook 4520s to my sony vpcyb4ajg with Ethernet cable on my Hp wireless disconnects and can not be connected until i disconnect lan cable. but on my sony i have both wired and wireless connections simultaneously

I have problem wit limited wireless connectivity on my laptop (Samsung) but also on my iPhone 4 and my wife`s LG optimus 5 duo all at the same time. I changed yesterday my router speedport which performed wireless connectivity problems, with a same one- and the problem is actually the same.For every 30 minutes I have limited access on my laptop, iPhone 4 and LG 5. If i restart the router it is OK for a while, and then again the same story. Someone told me to switch off wireless option on both phones, which made connectivity normal on my Samsung laptop.
I repeated, I changed two routers and the problem persists.
Since a few weeks, I have a problem with my laptop running Windows 8.1 (Toshiba Satellite P50-A-12PBE). Sometimes, after bringing Windows back from sleep mode, I seem to have no connection to the internet. Windows says the connection is 'limited', wether I'm connected with a wire or wireless. Resetting the router doesn't solve anything, but rebooting my pc does. Since both the wired and wireless network are always simultaneously affected, I think this hasn't anything to do with drivers (I already have the latest versions by the way). I have made screenshots with ipconfig-results when I'm connected with a wire.

I'm using an Nvidia nForce ethernet built in an Asrock n68c-s ucc motherboard.I tried to find updates for this nvidia nforce but managed to get only for windows 7. so installed it, and nothing happens.
I cannot at all connect to the internet.

After receiving a new laptop several months ago I began experiencing wi-fi disconnection issues at times the indicator on the system tray indicates limited connectivity, that's when I know that I am about to lose the connection I use windows 8.1 so when clicking on the wi-fi signal strength indicator in the system tray the network status dialogue slide's in from the right of the screen where I pre-empt the drop off by switching the wi-fi off & on again.
Computer is acer aspire e series with a Broadcom 802.11n Wireless adapter.
I am currently having serious issues connecting my windows 8 desktop to wireless internet. It runs fine when hardwired in and I have tried to reinstall drivers I have run programs ensuring me they are all up to date. The computer is a HP Pavilion m8430f. The router is a Verizon router and I believe the company that makes it is actiontec m142wr.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, something odd has been happening. On initial start up of my PC, the network fails. It will show the yellow exclamation point and show as limited. When this happens, I cant even ping my directly connected router. It shows as PING: Transmit failed. General Failure.
So far since this started happening, restarting works. Is there any way to figure out what the cause is? My drivers are up to date and it may have started when I updated to 8.1 but im not 100 percent sure. Not sure if there are any logs I can look at to see what isnt happening correctly when this occurs.
i have a lenovo idea pad that will connect to wifi but says limited connection. I can use the iternet via ethernet cable with no issues. My ISP is comcast and I have one of their modems that came with wifi im guessing it doubles as a router seeing i direct connect to it with my laptop. however my wifi works for my xbox one, a nexus 7 tablet a xbox 360 ,a printer and two smartphones with no issues what so ever. They are not all on at once so max connections shouldnt be a issue. I've spent hours on the phone with comcast and they insist its the laptop and not the wifi, how to go about fixing the issue. I've checked the drivers and their up to date then uninstalled and reinstalled still no luck. i use firefox for browsing and AVG for antivirus.

The wireless hotspot that came with it will work on my family's iPods, iPad, and our family laptop, but not on my Toshiba laptop with Windows 8. I have tried my dad's iPhone's wireless hotspot, and it works on my laptop. View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer keeps listing the internet connection as "limited". It does this randomly, I don't know when it will happen next. Restarting router/computer fixes it sometimes, but not all the time. Sometimes it takes about 4 restarts of the router until I get a proper connection. Trouble shooting merely describes the problem as having no connection and tells me to reconnect the router. This takes around 5 minutes each time and I'm getting tired of doing this, as it interrupts skype calls, games and conversations.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with my sony vaio connecting to the internet. For one thing it doesn't pick up wireless signal as far away as the other laptops in the house. The main problem though, is that often the bars will be lit up as if it is connected but there will be a little yellow warning triangle saying limited.
When it happens, I try disconnecting/reconnecting and turning the router on and off but most of the time I just have to wait until it comes back. Once it is connected it works fine. It is fairly a fairly common occurrence and happens every day.
We have an Eircom router and the wireless card (according to the outside of the box) is: Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11bgn).
I've been having a problem since I updated to Windows 8.1My internet wi-fi connection is unusually low and is not working after only minutes of browsing the internet. The problem is always fixed after I run troubleshoot problems and is saying that the default Gateway is unavailable. My netword card might be the source of the problem even tough I updated the drivers. I'm not sure which one I have because drivers from Ralink and Qualcomm seem to be working both.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got my new computer today and first thing I did after setting it all up was try and connect to the internet. I plugged in my ethernet cable I would only get "Limited Access" to the router I've spent the last 10hours+ trying to find a solution but not a single has worked now what to do.
I've tried manually putting IP/DNS but nope no luck. I've uninstalled drivers and reinstalled drivers, restarted router tried various cmd commands but I really just dont know what to do anymore.
I am frequently getting page not found errors, and am having to reload, pages take a long time to load and it's pretty much 50-50 wether it will or not load at all.
I've tried rebooting my router. I have a Vergin Media 'Super Hub' which is only two months old.

What is wrong with my laptop.
I turned it on and I could not connect to the PUBLIC WIFI network that I usually connect to when I'm out. Then I tried connecting to other networks and they all just had a little piece of garbage icon on the wireless symbol.

I restarted my computer about 10 times, went into my device manager, used windows troubleshooting, uninstalled and rolled back my Intel Centro Wireless(M)2230 wireless driver. Nothing will work. I can`t really take a screenshot of my ip config /all.
I have an Acer Aspire laptop with Windows 8.1. My main modem is located downstairs in my house, with a laptop connected to it (it works fine, never any issues). Before, I had a router wired upstairs to connect my laptop to. Here's the problem - it doesn't matter if I am using a wireless or a wired connection, I get a limited connection. I will have Windows troubleshoot the problem, and it always says that the problem was that the Default Gateway is not Available, and it will say that it is fixed. However, this randomly happens over and over anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes after I just "fixed" it.
I have just recently tried running a wire across my house to plug directly into the modem. This worked for a while, but the same thing started happening. Keep in mind, there is also a laptop wired directly to the modem downstairs in my house. I believe (but I haven't checked this in a while) that if I connect to the WiFi from my modem downstairs, it works fine.
I just traveled to a place where there is supposed to be wifi and I am staying here for a while. The wifi connects well through Ipod, but when connecting through windows 8 it accepts the password but tells me this connection is limited.
I searched through some threads and did some of the solutions such as the netsh reset for example but none have worked so far. Should I do a factory reset to my laptop?
So my wifi drops randomly I have done almost everything I found on my goggle search such as; Unchecking power management, Max Power performance, resetting my tcp(think that's it), something involving ipconfig, and countless other things.
I really want to start back gaming on my pc but the random wifi drops really ruin my experience.
Also I may have a DNS server problem? My wifi is working fine on my gaming consoles, phones, and my mom's laptop.
My Windows 8 laptop is having some WiFi connection issues.
Basically what happens is that every 5-20 minutes I cannot access the internet on browsers and the wifi connection is listed as "Limited".
The laptop: ASUS Vivobook S200E
The WiFi: Sky wireless router (no idea about model, it's almost two years old) But what I will say is that my Windows 7 laptop never skips a beat on this network, nor does my wife's Mac, nor do our 2 Android tablets, the iPad, the iPhone, the Android phone, and various devices that our friends connect when they come round. Literally no other device has any problems on this network, so I know (by the process of elimination) the Windows 8 laptop is the one with the problem.
In order to fix the issue I have to disconnect from the network, wait about 30 sec and reconnect again.
This morning I installed an optional update from Windows Update. It was Ralink Technology WLAN 802.11 wireless LAN card.
Since then, when I try to print to my wireless network printer, the network would disconnect then come back on after a while. The update shows up in Update History as successfully installed but not in the installed updates. System restore is of no support here. The network configuration page shows normal. The web does not appear to be affected. I made a new network connection for the printer but it did not work.
Is there a way to reverse this update or should I uninstall the 802.11 LAN card and let windows re-install anew.

I just installed a new wireless ac adapter and I do get a 1.3Gbps connection to my router. However when I test this connection by transferring some large files I get about 350Mbps for sending and 600 Mbps for receiving. When I transfer the same files with a 1Gbps wired connection I get about 970Mbps for sending (I think that includes some caching) and 760 Mbps for receiving.
Are there some options in Windows 8.1 Pro that can be set to get better wireless performance?
Just bought a new Gateway desktop with Windows 8 and can't maintain wireless internet connection.
Connects sometimes, but drops unexpectedly.
Sometimes says it can't connect, but does anyway and works fine. Sometimes it can't see any networks.
Usually can only see my network, though I am in a condominium surrounded by many networks.
My HP laptop (Windows XP) in the same room has a solid connection so I know the wireless signal strength is not an issue
I saw the "unstable wifi" post and tried removing network devices from power saving, that didn't work.
i use a usb Wireless adapter to acess the internet, and my signal is always good. The connection works fine too. But in some sites (more specifically in a flash video player that i have to use many times) and when i try to download uptades via Windows Uptade the connection just drops, and in most of times i have to disconnect the USB adapter and plug again to re-connect.
I don't use any antivirus, any 3rd party firewalls, nothing. I skirted the updates problem downloading them from the MS site, instead of Windows Uptade, and the uptades have installed fine, but itill pisses me off. The disconnect problem happens sometimes when i try to download something via Torrent (using Bittorrent), but in these days it happens most of times in the Flash player. This don't happen in youtube, curiously.
I installed hyper v on my machine which is running Windows 8.1. Then I created a Virtual Switch on my wireless network. After that, it was not working in the VM but the wireless connection in the host was working fine. After that, when I connected to a different wireless network, it did not work. I deleted the bridge, uninstalled hyper v, but it is still not working. I installed hyper v again, but it is still not working. The wireless connection connects to the wireless network after putting the password, but does not give network connectivity to the internet.
I need to get the wireless connection to work again.
