i try to use "Disable driver signature enforcement" in Windows 8 Setting. But, it make my USB modem not work.
How i can rollback my setting?
I cannot disable driver signature enforcement I have using CMD, by bcdedit.exe , still not working (bcdedit /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS & bcdedit /set testsigning on ) even after running CMD as Administrator
Also, i have disable driver signature enforcement by setting ( general-advanced setting- etc) Still no effect
Need install unsigned drivers permanent on Windows 8, I tested
shutdown -o -r -t 0
Options advance and restart option 7 to disable drivers unsigned
The problem is when i restart my pc. I lost drivers. I need to restart again to use this driver.
How do I disable driver signature enforcement in windows 8.1 permanently ? I dont want to use that advance restart option all the time... is it possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to increase the USB sampling rate of my USB mouse.
This is how I used to do it in Windows 7:
Run DSEO and enable test mode.
Reboot.
Right click HIDUSBF.INF and select Install.
Configure the driver and set the polling rate to 500 hz.
Run DSEO and sign these two files: C:WindowsSystem32DriversHIDUSBF.sys and C:WindowsSysWOW64DriversHIDUSBF.sys
Reboot.
And My mouse runs at 500 hz!
Apparently, enabling DSEO in test mode does not work anymore, so here's what I've done so far in Windows 8:
In elevated cmd, I ran this command: bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON
Reboot.
My mouse is still running at 125 Hz. This is a nightmare. Then, I tried:
In elevated cmd, I ran this command: bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
Reboot.
Mouse is still at 125 Hz.
Do I need to convert the INF file to a CAT file?
I have an Xbox Controller S running on XBCD drivers for my Windows 8 computer. When I used these drivers on my Windows 7 laptop, I used DSEO to enable test mode, and it worked perfectly. Using the same method sends Windows 8 into a BSOD, so that's out of the question. The other solution is to reboot from the Settings menu and manually disable it at EVERY STARTUP. So, is there any other ways to disable DSE without rebooting every time I want to use the controller?
My computer is a 5-month old ASUS M11BB, 3.7GHz AMD A4, with Windows 8 64-bit installed.
I've had to partially reinstal my Windows 8. This means I lost almost all my software and drivers. Now I have the headache again. On previous OS instance I had somehow disabled strict drivers signature (WHQL) control, so I was able to install even unsigned drivers like betas. Now on new OS, the annoying messages popup again and I can't for god remind where I had it disabled.
What I have:
- uninstalled defender
- disabled UAC by sliding the slider down (however UAC is still reported as active in Security Center - a guide to totally get rid of UAC would come useful )
- This hack doesnot remove the problem.
I know for sure this control can be disabled like I was able to install almost everything previously.
Tried also this hack and it doensot work:

I wanted to install fastboot driver for my xperia SP, so i disabled driver enforcement at start up settings and from then on my keyboard on the laptop doesn't work. I am using windows 8.1

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo about a few days ago my windows 8.1 decided to shit itself and refused to start up. I started checking on the web for some solutions to my problem and one of them was to start up with the windows DVD and try running the repair tool and such.
So I decided to do that, but no matter what option I tried, be it repair tool, recovery, full recovery, roll back, none of the options worked, it kept telling me "this operation system doesnt support this feature" or something along those lines. So in the end I just desided to format the HDD and reinstall Windows 8 and its running fine right now.
My question is why wasnt I able to use those features, and how can I make sure I have those feature available for me in the future?
Note: As I was typing this I just realised the DVD I tried using to use those various tools was a Windows 8 DVD, the windows I had installed was 8.1.
Any way to stop the 8.1 upgrader from automatically installing (graphics) drivers as it sets up? I have an Acer AS4820TG with switchable Intel HD and Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, and I'm 99% sure that drivers for one of these are causing a problem with installing 8.1 Pro. The screen turns black after the second restart, when Windows is "Getting devices ready". After this point it stays black.. no input of any sort affects it. I tried waiting it out for a while, and eventually I just did a hard shut down, at which point Windows reverted to 8. I'm hoping that if I can get it to install without the drivers, I can manually install them from the desktop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy touchscreen stopped working when I updated to 8.1, but the Dell I bought came with no media.
Do you know if there is some way for me to revert to the factory install of Win 8 (not 8.1) in this situation?
I had my Acer desktop come back from the factory a couple of weeks ago. They did a great job in reparing it, however:
When confirming that they had did everything correctly, I out of curiosity, ran the ''reagentc.exe /showcurrent'' command from an elevated command prompt. Whoops, there was no recovery image specified.
After hurting my brain somewhat, I deduced I would need to mount the ''Push Button Reset'' partition with a letter - I used ''Z'' for clarity. *EDIT* So I could locate the folder that the image was stored in, and specify it in the command..** (I used Acronis Disk Director for this simple operation)
I was then able to use the ''REAGENTC /SetOSImage ... '' commmand and specified it in the folder in my OEM Push Button Recovery partition.
My question is this, if I unmount the letter Z, and therefore make it a hidden partition, I guess that Windows won't be able to find it if I need to do a recovery? Would you know of any work a round, or if I could perhaps use another command to specify the OEM recovery image, which is located in that hidden partition.
I noticed that automatic maintenance in Win 8 cannot be disabled. I maintain my pc regularly and do not need it. Is there a way to do it or should I let it run?

I really need a solution to permanently disable auto maintenance in 8.1.
I've tried everything in task scheduler. I've disabled 'Idle Maintenance' & 'Regular Maintenance' ... and I was finally able to find a way to disable 'Maintenance Configurator'. However, the 'custom triggers' for the latter are impossible to disable as is the 'daily trigger' which keeps re-enabling itself.
The auto maintenance is a law unto itself. It doesn't run when the system is idle. It runs whenever it feels like it ... which is usually when I'm browsing, streaming etc. I've put up with this for long enough. There has to be a permanent solution.
So, I've just bought a new laptop for university work and it came with Windows 8 pre-installed.
First thing I did when I booted the laptop up was install Microsoft Word and Norton Security, all fine so far!
And then it comes to downloading iTunes, latest Adobe Flashplayer/PDF reader etc and everytime it will get close to finishing. Around 98% or so, before stopping and saying 'The file download was interrupted'. So I press resume download and it comes up with another error message of 'The signature is invalid or corrupt'. I literally can't download a thing?
Also, I can't play youtube videos either. All I get is the 'buffering' circle, a black screen and a greyed out play button!
Windows 8 waits several seconds before it start my programs that are set to auto start. I would like to make Windows 8 behave like older variant. This new feature is of no value to me and annoying. The apps start too late and steal focus, or I just watch and wait stupidly for the apps to start while the system is basically idle... It's a lot quicke to start the apps manually lot of the, which of course defeats one main reason for auto-start.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to play an HD video though a projector on my laptop. The laptop plays it fine, but I'm worried about things like Windows updates, virus scans and other processes suddenly slowing it down or displaying messages on the screen while the audience are watching it. I know how to disable some of these things manually, but its easy to forget something and I was just wondering if there is some sort of "minimal" mode where only the bare essentials are running? For reasons I won't bore you with, burning to DVD or Blu Ray will not work in this instance, a hardware media player might, but I want to explore this option first.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is an issue for ages. Apparently windows writes zeros by default for all allocated files. Particularly noticable, when downloading with bittorrent, where the app hangs and the hard drive becomes unusable for quite a while. But it's also a problem more generally. Any such allocations will double the wear on HDDs and particularly SSDs, apart from taking twice as much time. I can set windows to don't write zeroes when allocating files?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIssues I've been having with my PC and mainly from trying to play ARMA 3 which has seemed to be the root of my Display Driver Errors and Crashing (Not sure why as this game was running perfectly for the first 3-4 months I bought the PC brand new and downloaded the game from STEAM...
Ok so here's some background on my PC and where I'm at:
Well I had ONE crash a month ago and haven't been able to get ARMA 3 running right since, it started while crashing when trying to connect to the a MP Server, it basically went all Display Driver Error crazy with lines and boxes jumping on the screen then went into complete crash mode, after trying all of the Display Driver Error methods of fixing (ReInstall Drivers/Beta, launch parameters, etc. none seemed to work) ran IOLO System Mechanic software scan and fixed the problem for a week or so then it was the same old problems once again...of course *sigh...
Then, I did a complete system Restart where I fully cleaned my files and PC, re installed Windows 8.1 and all that, now after I reinstall Steam/ARMA 3, all is running good on my PC, no Display Driver Errors or any BS, but then I start up ARMA 3, tweaked some of video settings and went to Exit the game and it all crashed and burned and went back to Display Driver problems again!!!??? Also wondering if my ACER model PC Monitor could have anything to do with the crashes? (its about 6-7 years old but still has a 75hz Refresh Rate dunno if that can cause Disp Driv Errors?)
I've done system REFRESH and RESTART and even tried the newest AMD Driver and Beta Drive for my Graphics cards....the main problem seems to be the Distorted Lines jumping on my screen and boxes when I right click start ICON go blank or have werid lines in them as well...I also have the PC settings pop up saying my Windows is not Activated/Registered? I can recall that it seems like this problem happens after I run the Windows Recommened & Important Updates (after a Fresh Re-Install of Windows) that the Disp Errors start happening...
How to properly install Windows 8.1 on an AMD Radeon PC and the proper drivers I need or the way I need to install them? I read somewhere that You need to have Windows Defender off when updating the display drivers?? I bought IOLO System Mechanic which seems like it does a lot but wasn't able to solve my issue last night, did a complete Restart this morning and my PC seems to be running fine but I haven't run ANY windows or driver updates yet or installed ANYTHING... My PC came with the Windows 8.1 install Disc and MSI Driver Disc.
Here are my PC specs:

I have a dual boot system Windows 7 & Windows 8.1. When I start my PC I get the DOS black and white 'Choose An Operating System'. View 8 Replies View RelatedOK I have Windows 8, and am using Windows Live Mail which I down loaded from day one.
Question:: How do I put an avatar and signature on bottom of my e-mail so it is always there automatically?
I have never done this before, but noticed some people do have it.
I have just brought over my Gmail account into my Outlook.com account. I can now send or receive GMail using the Outlook.com web interface. Is there a way I can create seperate Signatures for each email account (@outlook.com and @gmail.com)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, it all started after i had my nvidia drivers error "Nvidia windows kernel mode driver error". After this error windows started being really annoying and laggy. Usually it lags most when i turn on computer, it takes a lot of time to load files, and strange thing happens after i turn it on. Just a few seconds after windows loads pictograms on dekstop windows strangly loads them again... I checked my disk usage, it goes to 100% sometimes and when its at 100% windows getting laggy. Usually reinstalling windows works, but I cant reinstall it atm, I got a lot of important stuff in it (and I made one disk). I am using windows 8.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer has always had intermittent BSOD but generally it's been only 1-2 a month and after a system restart everything works fine. In the last couple of weeks I've been getting BSOD after only a few minutes of operation every time I start up and generally after these errors the computer won't boot - sometimes it will be a black screen after BIOS check, sometimes it won't even get that far - just black screen without the BIOS check even starting. Usually the only way to get it to boot again is to disconnect the power and remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard. I've run driver verifier which has indeed generated it's own minidumps but I don't really understand what these error reports are trying to tell me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to disable the 'sent from windows mail' signature on my emails. From my gmail account I have done this flawlessly through the account settings, toggling signature to off. However, for my other account, the option to remove the signature has been disabled. I believe it is because it is the account linked with my microsoft login, and therefore integral to Windows 8. At the bottom it says (paraphrased) 'This is the microsoft account you use to login to windows, to change this account, you must go to 'change pc settings'
Whilst I can find 'change pc settings' in the Windows 8 menu, there is no option to remove email signature here from what I can see.
I had the default then decided to change it. The slider is set to yes, yet my signature does not show up. It does have a small url in it...could that be a problem? I am on 8.1.
