Debugging :: Multiple BSOD Errors - Unexplained Application Crashing
Apr 5, 2014About an hour ago I was playing Dota 2 (a game application via Steam) when it crashed. There was no error report or explanation, it just crashed to the desktop. Upon restarting it, after a few moments it again crashed.
I attempted to restart my computer and got stuck at an American Megatrend BIOS screen talking about a CPU failure. Going into BIOS I shut off the CPU Fan monitors and was able to successfully restart the computer.
After a few moments I got a BSOD error, Watchdog_Clock. I restarted and again after a few moments got an IRQL BSOD error.
I downloaded an application called SlimCleaner and this seemed to resolve the BSOD errors, but the Dota 2 crashing without explanation is still occurring despite verifying the cache, and then deleting re-downloading and re-installing all together.

Aug 20, 2014I've an odd issue. Every time I boot up my computer for the first time in the evening after work, it will freeze and crash several times but then remain fine for the rest of the night after multiple restarts. The cycle then repeats itself the next day.

Jul 19, 2014I built a computer recently. Since day one I get BSODs but the drivers, and Bug/Checks listed are never the same.I was thinking it couldn't be a single device or driver so I've:
Replaced the MOBO.
Repair Installed the OS.
Replaced the RAM.
It BSOD'd multiple times between each change.
The only things I've run are IE/FF and Ableton Live 9. Ableton is usually running during the BSOD but it was not the last time.

Sep 15, 2014We have a computer we're running Windows 8.1 Pro, which keeps crashing - typically overnight, and typically when we're running large computational simulations.
I have been working on parsing the WinDBG outputs, and finally got to:

But before that, I see:

***** Kernel symbols are WRONG. Please fix symbols to do analysis.
But I am not 100% sure what I'm looking at. In WinDBG I am pretty sure I've succesfully pointed the symbol path to download symbols correctly from msdn.
So we ran "dm log collector", the ZIP is attached.
p.s. We do have a large RAID drive attached via USB3; connecting that seemed to correlate to the start of these crashes, but that might be wishful correlation seeking.

Apr 27, 2014my brother brought over a burned dvd on easter, played fine, nothing weird happened. the next day BSODs like woah, firefox and chrome crashing at random intervals. i tried system restore, it seems to have decreased the frequency of blue screens but they still happen and the browsers crash just as often. i'm pretty sure i'm running windows 7 (i know nothing about computers) i'm not a hundred percent sure the DVD was the culprit, but its a big coincidence if its not. hopefully i did the diagnostic thing right, i'll try and upload. earlier something strange happened where i had no sound, could not open the volume menu, tried to click shut down, nothing happened. had to give the old power button smothering to restart and now it seems okay.

Sep 15, 2014I have an issue with my Windows 8 PC, as it keeps crashing (Page Fault in non-paged area). Not everyday and not while doing anything special. I can play games without any issue - and then be editing a document and it shuts down.
I replaced my HD for a SD back in May but since then i havent made any changes to the setup.

Jan 23, 2014Ever since I have bought this computer, it has constantly crashed. When I attempt to fix something, for example: re-seat the memory, made sure there was plenty of cable slack, etc. The system will then seem stable for 7-10 days. Then out of the blue, the system will crash several times in a short time (sometimes this period can be a few hours or a few days). Even though it has constantly crashed (in the hundreds of times) I would say I have actually witnessed it less than 10 times. There was one time though the system had crashed, rebooted, and then even crashed again before I even had a chance to log in.
The file included is from the last 2 months and it has 30 files. This appears to be a rather large number, this is nothing compared to what it used to be like when I first purchased this system a year ago.

Jul 10, 2014I have a Asus pc, that has been crashing all the time due to unknown reasons. I have experienced that as soon as it hangs due to some process that is taking some time, it usually ends with a BSOD. I can let the computer alone and when I come back it has crashed, apparently for no reason, since I have not been using it for anything.
It crashes and gives the BSOD for many different reasons, I don't have the complete overview of all the reason, but above two listed reasons are the most significant. I have been using WhoCrashed, but does seem to get anywhere with the information provided by this. The PC is a new laptop.
I have followed the instruction and I'm uploading the zip file created by SF Diagnostic Tool.

Dec 13, 2013I encounter really frequent bsod crashes (3-6 every day) with various errors on my relatively new notebook - Asus G750JH-T4080H. these include:
INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
TIMER_OR_DPC_INVALID
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
Additional info: They mostly occur when in windows, browsing the web using firefox. only very seldom they appear during gaming. i also have to admit that i made recent changes to registry (regarding "The server {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." errors in event log/viewer") because of another problem (but the bsods were already there before that changes, but maybe not so frequently).
I just installed the new 8.1 windows updates, 30 minutes later new bsod appeared (uploaded current Diagnostic Tool zip):

May 8, 2014Since 2 week my pc (a toshiba qosmio X70), that I bought four months ago, had BSOD at different time (Driver power state failure). Mainly when I start the pc. "WhoCrashed" reports said that differents drivers were in cause each time. Today it is ntoskrnl and ntkrnlmp.exe ...
I fear that there is a hardware problem ... Since I bought it, the pc make strange noise when I connect a usb device (a "bip-bip").

Apr 13, 2014I built my first PC in summer 2013 and since then have had multiple BSOD which have sometimes been really close together and sometimes really far apart. What I mainly want to know is if it is hardware related or just related to me installing any of the 14.x Drivers from AMD
The one thing I have noticed. If I remember correctly it never BSOD during games I feel like its always when I'm watching a video online.

May 15, 2014I have been getting multiple BSOD over the past couple weeks. Its got to the point where I can't really do anything even remotely "taxing" on my computer without an impending reboot. Playing more lightweight games such as Hearthstone or WoW are guaranteed crashes, as is listening to music in the web browser while doing anything else. Last night in a desperate attempt to correct the situation, I ran the Windows 8.1 refresh option. Unfortunately shortly after rebooting into the fresh install I had another BSOD and multiple more today. Ive run chkdsk on my harddrive, and ran memtests on my RAM, all came back clear. I went so far as to remove my graphics card in an attempt to isolate any potential hardware failure, but on the integrated graphics I received the same errors.

Sep 15, 2014I built a new computer for my girlfriend, which of course ran fine at my house for 4 days, and even passed 12 hours of prime95. She lives over an hour away, and since I left a few days ago, she has had multiple problems with BSOD's. It seems to occur far more often when powering the computer on, and then it often takes multiple attempts to get the pc running - but once it is running, it seems to be somewhat stable. It seems to be somewhat random whether it will power up normally.
Some basic hardware info:
Intel Pentium G3258 with stock cooler running at stock speed (3.2)
Corsair XMS 2x4GB DDR3 1333
Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2V motherboard
Hanns-G HT231DPBU Touchscreen monitor
Plextor M6S SATA3 (6Gb/s) solid state

I am not sitting at the PC now, but I did manage to get her to send me the minidumps. However, I am not able to figure out what the error is, or even how to start looking for it. I have 6 minidumps, mostly different days, with 6 different errors. I am attaching the minidumps here. I've run them through online crash analyzers, and can't find a pattern.

Mar 19, 2014While doing seemingly resource light tasks such as watching a youtube video or listening to soundcloud, I would get BSOD. There are several different ones like the Watch dog one, pfn list corrupt, IRLQ not less or equal, system service exception and a memory dump.
I just did a fresh install of Windows 8 since I thought 8.1 was causing the issue. It started up around the time I upgraded to it and has gotten progressively worse.
Using an AMD HD7870 with the current non beta drivers. It caused it with the beta driver as well.
I checked all the RAM (4 sticks of 4) and they all worked individually.

Apr 14, 2014I recently purchased a refurbished Lenovo G505s about a month ago. Today I got my first BSOD, which was classified as "Multiple IRP Complete Requests" - this is the first BSOD I've gotten on this laptop.
The only other issues the laptop had was intermittently shutting down for some reason if pressure was applied on the surface near the touchpad.

Aug 21, 2014The most recent was a IRQL_not_less_than_or_equal_to, but over time there have been SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTIONS, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and a few others.
This is a Toshiba laptop with 32 GB of memory, a toshiba 256GB SSD and two crucial m500 960 GB SSD. I have updated the Crucials to version M05 of the firmware (latest) some time ago and the crashes are continuing.
Crashed appear to happen randomly, I can be just trying away and I get a BSOD or the machine can be idling overnight and when I get up it has restarted. When it crashed it does not always restart (sometimes hangs at 100%).
Have downloaded the Windows Debugger but from my point of view it has been less than useful.

Mar 14, 2014I'm currently using my desktop computer as an host for about 7 VMware machines running at the same time.
I guess specs are included in the dump, but I'll put them here:
CPU: i7 2600k
SSD: samsung evo 840 120gb
RAM: 2x 4gb DDR3 1600mhz
GPU: nVidia 570 GTX
Currently under windows 8.1 final release build, with every last Windows updates available. (fresh install since yesterday)
After maybe 2 hours of somewhat intensive tasks, my computer restart itself saying : "Your PC ran into a problem" in the blue ribbon UI.

even one time before installing win 8, when i inserted DVD of windows to install it, a BSOD accured!
windows is totally updated and hard disk is free of errors (based on windows error checking tool report).

Sep 15, 2014The computer would just freeze up and not go to blue screen, However, since upgrading to Windows 8.1 it has been giving me a blue screen and error message, what could be wrong. I am positive the errors over the years have all been by the same, as what causes them and what occurs after is always the same.
After booting up, if I decide to play a game, practically any that require 3-d graphics, the game will start to slow down and the audio will start to crackle. Then, the computer will freeze up. When I ran Windows Vista it just stayed frozen, but now during Windows 8.1 it goes to blue screen and shuts off. After rebooting, everything runs perfectible normally and I can run any game perfectly without slowdown or freezing. Then, after shutting down and rebooting another day the same problem will arise.
It's not necessarily the worst error, but I don't quite like leaving my computer in sleep mode as it still drains some power. From what I gathered for Blue Screen View, it seems to be a memory issue. The first error code I received when using Windows 8.1 was PFN list corrupt. That prompted me to test and reseat the ram. Windows Memory Diagnostic came out clean, but the error persists. The latest time I have had this problem, the error was Memory Management, 0x0000001a.
I have updated the BIOS to latest version and have overclocked my RAM, however, the problem existed before O.C.

May 24, 2014So my laptop has been getting multiple BSOD errors during or shortly after startup. I let my roommate download and play WoW and Ventrillo. And the issues started shortly after, first with the game simply crashing and escalating into the computer itself not working correctly. I figured the best place to start since it didn't have much stuff on it was to just put my stuff I needed on a USB and do a factory reset. Which seemed to make no change. I have run memtest once for four passes and it found no errors.
I can remember a few of the errors I have been getting.
Bad Pool Header
Memory Management
IRQL not less or equal
Kernal Security Check Error/Failure
There was also one or two other memory related ones that I cant remember the exact wording of.
