Debugging :: BSOD While Using Android USB Tether For Internet?
Jul 17, 2014
From time to time I'm required to use USB Tethering to connect my Nexus 4 (Android 4.4.4) with my laptop so I can access internet (either mobile data or wifi from the phone to the laptop (because sometimes it gets better from where it is)).
The thing is that in around 95% of the times I tether the two systems I get a BSOD with the Watchdog Violation.
In attachment I've added the dump files as I saw in the forum faq.
This is basically a fresh install. I only really installed steam along with the drivers for my motherboard and gpu. It originally did it while on steam only but has since done it other places. Last night was particularly bad, as it would BSOD and then sit on a black screen while trying to load up. Turning it off and on eventually started it back up. Then it did a weird thing where it would keep rebooting itself. Eventually I shut it down for the night.
I receive a BSOD about once every day. And it only ever happens while browsing the internet (using google chrome), it NEVER happens while playing games (which I do about 12hrs a day), it only ever happens when browsing the internet.
I'm getting the below BSOD when connecting and using the internet at my new apartment after few minutes (usually after 10mins but sometimes less or more than that). This is not happening at my work or when using any other wireless networks.
I'm not sure if it matters but the connection at my apartment is kind of weird... I just followed the instructions to connect to a wireless network first and then setup another broadband PPPoE connection.
Very annoying BSOD problem, it tends to happen when surfing the internet and for some reason my internet keeps now coming up with that irritating internet has stopped working error every couple of minutes, I have tried to refresh or reset windows 8 but I cannot because I do not have a recovery partition or USB, I upgraded my version of windows digitally so I am looking to see if there are any other solutions first. I have attached the dmp file.
Problem: Cant transfer files from PC or Android tablet to tablet.
Version(S): PC: Win8.1 64-bit Android tablet: android 4.4 other tablet: Win8.1 not sure bit version
Detail: Need to transfer file from CD to Win8.1 tablet. Steps tried:
-extracted files from CD to .SFX archive and added a copy to PC and Tablet (android4.4) -tried over cloud, cloud upload failed and retried multiple times for same result. -tried direct file transfer from pc to WinTablet and from AndroidTablet to WinTablet with the appropriate cables, both times neither device detected the other -tried file transfer over homegroup, gave error message about "access denied" even after giving access on both devices -tried email but .sfx was too large (almost 800MB) -tried over Bluetooth on both devices (PC and android) again transfer failed -tried over WiFi connection, failed access denied -tried over Ethernet cable but only PC has Ethernet port.
I'm not sure when this problem started happening, but recently, when I plug in or unplug the power of my Galaxy S4, the computer will wake from sleep. I'm running CyanogenMod 11 on it, which is based on Android 4.4.2. I haven't installed or configured any apps on my PC to allow for this, nor any apps on the phone. How I can stop it?
I wanted to play around with Android some and I got this problem when i try to first open up the Android virtual session. I'm not all that familiar with the BIOS. I know how to navigate the BIOS, how to get to the BIOS, and I know it can mess you up badly if you do the wrong thing! (i.e. BIOS drivers)
Tonight when I plugged my LG G-Pad into my laptop it made the usual audible tone but is now no longer visible. Worked fine about 2 days ago, now nothing.. Interestingly enough it works fine on my desktop (Win 7) and my office computer (also Win 7), but all the sudden it doesn't appear on my laptop where I need it most. I considered doing a restore, but it appears I'll have to re-install 8.1 again, and I'm not too keen on that as it was a nightmare in itself
It's about the ASUS Transformer AIO. It runs in Desktop-Mode with Windows, in Remote Desktop-Mode with Windows and in Tablet-Mode with Android. Is it somehow possible on the tablet (32 GB eMMC flash memory) to delete Android and install Windows?
Is there any chance of dualbooting Dell Venue 8 Pro with Windows 8 and Android? I like Windows 8 but would also like to be able to use Android on this awesome tablet. If not dual boot, is there any other way of using Android as virtual machine or something that provides full touch and other sensor's support?
I want to install a multi-boot W 8 / android and I've already boot on "android-x 86-4.2-20121225" (without install) with my W 700 but the wi-fi is not recognized. how to find a version of android who recognized the wi-fi card of W 700?
I got a brand-new X1 Carbon ThinkPad about a week ago, and I have been experiencing various BSODs, which I have uploaded the minidump files of here.
They have varied from the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error to KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I thought that the problem was related to my graphics card (it still very well may be), so I removed and redownloaded the graphics driver, but to no avail; the BSODs still occurred. The only thing that the various BSODs have in common is that one of the red highlighted files in BlueScreenView is always ntoskrnl.exe.
I actually installed the Android on Intel Architecture onto my Samsung xe700t a few times over the last few months, adjusting windows 8 or android options to suit my needs, but a few days ago I decided to format my laptop and reinstall Windows 8 and reinstall Android as I have previously, I am now getting this error message at the very end of the android installation process:
I have updated the bios, I have made sure my laptop is in UEFI format, I have made secure the BIOS isn't in secure boot, I have tried various USB sticks, I have also made sure the USB stick is first in the boot order.
So why I can't install Intel Android onto my pc anymore ...
So, yesterday is the first time this has happened. It has never happened before. The first time it happened yesterday, I Was watching some TV shows online, and then I got the PAGE_FAULT(...) error code.
I tried running my Anti_Malware scanner to see if that could pick something up. It crashed again just as it started.
So I tried Advanced SystemCare. Again, same problem.
And it just keeps happening.
I tried refreshing my computer to see if that would do anything, but it crashed during that too.
I ran the SF Diagnostic program and I have the .DMP files (But I can't seem to upload them. Maybe I'm trying to upload the wrong ones, I don't know.)
Anyway, these are the specs of my system. HP ENVY DV-7 7270CA (less than 8 months old) running Windows 8 (as I wasn't able to update to 8.1. I got the 0x80000004 error, or whatever it was. I can't remember exactly), 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, Intel Core i7 3630QM, NVIDIA GT630M (2GB) GPU, and a 1TB 5400RPM HDD. Don't know what brand, I didn't check.
-Ram-TEST lasted nine hours and successfully completed -Change the motherboard (ASUS Sabertooth 990FX From R2.0 to MSI 890FX-GD70, the latter shall use at this time, the other I sold it) -Changed video card (ATI 6870 Updated NVIDIA 760) -Replaced SSD where the system resides, had a value SMART wrong, incorrectly replaced by Samsung (EVO 250GB) -Analyzed by-DUMP bluescreenanalizer and semrpe the same file with the same bug tails -Windows-formatted 3 times already

Now I'll explain when I turn on my pc at COLD (the day after practically) happens to me .. and not always! However, if you reboot immediately after work PERFECTLY, and for hours and hours! without presenting problems or other, and even under stress. The next day, however, having been off the night it happens it happens .. this blue screen without doing anything specific! Coincidentally, sometimes even if I do nothing on windows just turned on, or a complete on the internet, or other, causally!
I started a thread a while ago and You Fellas diagnosed the problem was the faulty RAM. So I bought and replaced using 2 other slot of memory that wasn't used before (i have 4 slots). It took some time, but sadly it started crashing again. 4 dmps and routine stuff attached. It happens usually in games but it happens sometimes in desktop so its random for me. What component or anything else is corrupted.
Since yesterday, I keep getting Kernel Inpage Error like every 15 mins I turnd the computer on. It runs on pre-installed Windows 8 after I bought it new a year ago. In the past, I have been getting BSOD, but it is usually after I wake it from sleep mode and the error is IRQL EQUAL OR LESS ..
