I'm having a BSOD (attempting to switch from DPc) error message.
I've attached the minidumps.
I'm also having problems getting the crash dump with the diagnostic tool. O.o It isn't creating a folder on my desktop. I've enabled crash info collection, too.
Edit: Nvm. Got the crash dump. It saved it on my other drive for some reason :P. Uploading now.
I've got a problem - after I turn my notebook Asus M51Va into hybernation and then turn it on, usually (not always) it crashes with BSOD (hal.dll 0x0000009f). When I start system after turning it off - loading of Windows never ends with BSOD and everything is ok.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, my laptop has been crashing upon waking from hibernation. I initially thought it was a trojan or virus, but after poking around more I think its either a HD or driver issue. I installed Who Crashed and Blue Screen View, which mostly return ntoskrnl.exe, but have also thrown in tcpip.sys, AMPPAL.sys, and usbhub.sys. Asus Install seems to think I'm up to date on all the drivers, but after looking at some of these files, I'm not so sure. Dumps attached.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWindows 8 is clean-installed on a new primary partition of a harddisk. All device-drivers came from DVD Windows 8 Setup, there is no any driver updated yet.
Windows 8 can go hibernation but can't resume from the hibernation. The Windows 8 logo dissappeared fast and the laptop immediatelly went off, I didn't see any blue screen.
Here I attached some files that are collected by SF_Diagnostics_Tool.
MEMTEST86 reported no error. BIOS has been updated to latest version (before ver.3303, after ver.3315).
Windows 8 worked great until I shut it down, went to turn it back on and it is HIBERNATING. I shut it down, took the battery out, left it plugged out, but when I try to turn it back on it just says "hibernating".
how to get windows 8 out of hibernation.
I have a DELL Inspiron 15 3521 running Windows 8.1 x64. Whenever I wake up the computer after hibernating my webcam is not working properly. A yellow exclamation mark is shown on the entry "Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E2D" under USB Controllers in Device Manager.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have problem with my dualboot. When installing ubuntu 13.04 and window 8 along each other, windows 8 won't hybernate (screen just gets blank and lock itself), tha same with turning computer off (when fast bootup is enabled). When i recover mbr using bootrec.exe /fixmbr (basicly switch back from GRUB2 so i cannot boot into linux) everything works fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne thing I noticed about Windows 8 is that there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to put my laptop into hibernation. For clarification, this means that that everything that is loaded into the RAM is written to a file on the HDD. The device then fully powers down. Upon pressing the power button again, the device will resume, similar to the way it does in sleep mode, but without have the power drain associated with storing the windows session in the volatile memory.
I went into the power settings and enabled hybrid sleep for both plugged in and on battery, but when I clicking on the power option in settings (by using the shortcut Win + I or by moving your mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen) there is only an option to put it into sleep mode. I know that it isn't doing hibernation because when it goes into hibernation, you must press the power button to bring it out of hibernation. I want it this way to reduce battery drain and to prevent accidental resuming if the laptop somehow opens while in my backpack...
I close my laptop before going to bed. And some mornings I wake up, and open my laptop, only to find out that it has shut itself down while I was sleeping, and now windows wants me to send an error report. This has been getting rather annoying.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI turn my computer on hibernate mode at about 10pm, and then at around 3am my computer turns on. I don't turn it on, just when I wake its on (I check the Event Viewer to see what time it turns on). I thought that hibernate mode was zero power, so how would it be able to turn on? Is there a setting saying that it should turn on at that time?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I lock my screen and leave my computer to do tasks while I'm away, the computer goes into hibernation after an hour or so. I tried fiddling with the power options, but no joy. I need to have my computer running while I'm away as I have it doing tasks like rendering video etc. I cannot have it go to sleep!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a random/strange thing happening on my Windows 8 Pro (x64). I have set up the system settings so that when I close the lid my laptop goes to hibernation. However, when I wake up my laptop from hibernation, from time to time, hibernation option disappears from system settings (I attached to screenshots). And, to get it back, I need to restart the laptop. This does not happen all the time. But when it happens, I don't get any hibernation option. As a result, closing the lid puts the laptop into sleep rather than hibernation and that is not very convenient when I want to leave fast. To get hibernation option back I need to restart my laptop.

I've tried this:
Code:
Dism /Mount-Wim /WimFile:install.wim /index:7 /MountDir:Mount
reg load HKLMWIM_System MountWindowsSystem32configSYSTEM
reg import Disable_Hibernate.reg
reg unload HKLMWIM_System
Dism /Unmount-Wim /MountDir:Mount /Commit
Where Disable_Hibernate.reg contains:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEWIM_SystemControlSet001ControlPower]
"HibernateEnabled"=dword:00000000
When I perform the install & check, hibernation is ON...
I manually installed windows updates yesterday. They seemed to have installed fine. I rebooted and went about my day...early evening i stepped away from my laptop for a few minute and came back to the lock screen. It had rebooted from a BSOD while I was away...I wasn't doing much on the computer at the time. Comodo dragon browser open playing a facebook game and winamp streaming some music...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to update to Windows 8.1 but I keep having issues. I constantly have failing Windows Updates. I have tried a couple different things, renaming the SoftwareDistribution file to .old, Windows Repair, and full clean install of Windows 8. I for the life of me can't figure out what's going on.
Currently, I am unable to install the SF_Diagnostic tool for some reason. It's hung up on downloading the necessary files from Windows Features. I have a mini dump from Windows 8 attached and will try to update it with the SF_Diag tool if it ever installs.
Edit: had to manually enable .NET Framework in order to get the diagnostic tool to install. The mini dump is still the same regardless so I'll keep that there.
it started happening about a week maybe 2 weeks ago but ill get random Bluescreen
View 9 Replies View RelatedI started experiencing crashes when I was playing League of Legends and they increased in frequency and now my PC crashes as soon as I boot into Windows.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently I've experienced random BSOD's in Windows 8. Although my computer know-how is limited at best, I knew it was best to upgraded my pc in steps. The first week I installed a SSD (with a fresh install of Windows 8 on it) and ran without any problems. A week later I installed 16 gigs of (new) ram (with the SSD) and everything ran fine.
The problems started two weeks later. I haven't made any changes to my pc or driver upgrades since then. If I idle in windows everything works fine. The same is true when running Office or browsing the internet. BSOD's occur when:
- Playing games (modern or old), either after 5 minutes or after 3 hours (seems very random but frequent);
- When wathing a HD youtube movie (BSOD's when doing this seem very rare though);
i got another diffrent BSOD today when i turned on my computer here is the dump folder So here is the explain i turn on my pc it turn on it went to windows and few seconds later i got BSOD
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a long history of BSOD issues on this system, and have exhausted my patience in trying to fix it. I have done my own research to no avail, and have even utilized my warranty to get parts replaced. At this point in time I have a replaced motherboard and video card but the BSOD issues have actually increased in frequency.
For testing I have re-loaded Windows. Ran tests on the memory. Replaced the hard drive with an SSD. Updated drivers as best as I could based on the version of Windows and availability of drivers, and as mentioned I have even had the Motherboard and Video card replaced. The only hardware left to rule out is Power Supply and CPU.
We have a computer we're running Windows 8.1 Pro, which keeps crashing - typically overnight, and typically when we're running large computational simulations.
I have been working on parsing the WinDBG outputs, and finally got to:
Probably caused by : GenuineIntel
But before that, I see:
BugCheck 124, {0, ffffe0011caf8028, be000000, 100110a}
***** Kernel symbols are WRONG. Please fix symbols to do analysis.
But I am not 100% sure what I'm looking at. In WinDBG I am pretty sure I've succesfully pointed the symbol path to download symbols correctly from msdn.
So we ran "dm log collector", the ZIP is attached.
p.s. We do have a large RAID drive attached via USB3; connecting that seemed to correlate to the start of these crashes, but that might be wishful correlation seeking.
Since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 (from 8.0) I'm experiencing BSOD a while after Windows has started (about 30 seconds). I updated all my drivers by different means to be sure all is up to date.
Attached : the SF_diagnostic "grab all" file (zipped with my user name).
My Sony Vaio Multi-Flip has been causing a lot of pain recently. A couple of months ago, it was making a lot of noise (which apparently came from the fan) but the problem resolved itself and has rarely occurred in the last 2 months. The engineer said at the time, that it was most likely a fan noise (as opposed to the HDD).
However from the last few days, the laptop shuts down out of nowhere (without a blue screen). This happened 5-6 times consecutively the first time, after which I was somehow able to do a system restore to a couple of weeks earlier, to see if it might have been a software issue. That temporarily seemed to fix it, but a few days later the issue is back. It happens every now and then (say once or twice a day). The laptop just shuts down completely in a snap. What might be causing this? I have an important business trip coming up and the last thing I want is for this to happen when I am in a client meeting.
I notice my CPU temperatures are normally between the 55-70 degrees on average usage, so I wonder if replacing/cleaning the fan is the way to go?
Also, every now and then, I hear a "beeping noise" and I notice this is usually when I lift the laptop up or tilt it slightly, while it is still running. This is shown as a critical error in my event log, with error source "Kernel Power" and error description " The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
DM Log collector results attached as SF Doesnt seem to be working for me on Windows 8.1. The greens status bar doesnt go past the "u" of "lunch" text above it despite waiting for ages.
trying to install a driver for my internet connetion, the installation goes just fine, but when at the end, where the drivers start installing, the PC gives me a BSOD no matter how I try regular installation, copying drivers files from a PC on which internet is working (this PC, working on Windows7). The full message is:
Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (USBXHCI.SYS).
The specs of the other PC (notebook):
Asus X552L
Nvidia Geforce 820m
Intel core i5
4Gb RAM
2 3.0 USB ports
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
I am scratching my head, my machine is HP Z600 with windows 7 professional on it and I upgraded it with Windows 8.1, after the installation was done I've got two BSOD till now. I am not a technical savy person so I looked up online and found this place.

Windows 8 installation. Apparently, my PC now randomly decides not to boot properly either from sleep or hibernation. It will go into sleep just fine (though managing to keep it sleeping for more than 5 seconds has been a chore itself), but sometimes it won't be able to come back from sleep properly: it will either black screen on me (very uncommon), or it will keep restarting several times, until either the "Automatic Recovery" pops up, or I manually reset it.
In all my years working with computers, I haven't seen anything like this :/ Services look fine, running apps also look fine, no virus found on a complete check of all almost 10TB of data...
Right now, I'm just about ready to drop the whole thing and go back to Windows 7.
I have used Pragon HDM 14 to migrate existing Win 8.1 installation (gpt with uefi and secure boot) to new hdd. Migration went ok, system booted up from new hdd. However after that it seems hibernation does not work. When I hibernate and power on back pc, it does a clean start. System event log says the system has shut down inapriopertly. I have tried to turn off and on hibernation, disable safe boot, nothing worked.
