View 1 RepliesI bought my laptop about 3 months ago, i got BSOD relating event 41 task 63 kernel power many times and got twice BSOD today.
View 1 RepliesI have had three of these shutdowns randomly occur over the last 2 days. I have no warning on when they will occur.
The computer is only 5 weeks old, so i wouldn't except an overheat issue personally. I can think of no new software i have installed since this has started. So far, it has always happened while playing a game (Diablo 3) but that is likely just coincidental, as that is what i do most on this computer.
MSI GT70 0ND computer
GTX 675MX vid
16GB DDR3
i7 3630QM
About 2 months back i had a new pc build. Since then, either 2 things would happen. My computer screen will complete freeze, with a buzzing sound and i would have to manually restart or i would get a BDOS with a buzzing sound and the computer auto restarts. These crashes are completely random, sometimes it would happen couple times a day, sometimes i can go a week without one. i also notice about almost all of these happens when im gaming. and everytime i look at the event log, its always the same Kernel-Power 41.
This is the computer spec
OS: Windows 8
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750
Graphics Card: ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz
Mother Board: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO
RAM: G.SKILL Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)
SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB
This is what i got using WinDbg
Bugcheck Analysis:
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)
A fatal hardware error has occurred. Parameter 1 identifies the type of error
source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the
WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error conditon.

Recently I noticed a game that I had been playing had started to stutter and slowdown more than usual, the performance issues were to be expected as the games engine is notorious for being poorly optimized, however these occurrences were fairly rare in comparison to the issues i'm experiencing now.
It seems for the last two days the performance of said game had been dismal, where i'd get a mostly consistent frame-rate before, I now only have a stutter riddled mess.
Looking through the Event Log I noticed a entry shown as; Kernel-Processor-Power Event ID 37, the text below it shows this; 'The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 7 seconds since the last report' the entry had been generated at '7:56pm' of today, which I found odd, as I believe that's when I started my game.
This had not been the only instance it seems, there were some entries from a few weeks back that show the same thing, however they were few and far in between. It seem I have 3 entries, all from today (12:00am, 3:56pm, 7:56pm) all warnings.
My crashes are not related to BSODs. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY BSODs AND THUS DO NOT HAVE ANY DUMP FILES.
For about the past month and a half, I've been getting random crashes in Windows 7. My computer suddenly turns off and reboots itself. Just a black screen. Sometimes I don't get a crash for five days, sometimes I get one twice in the same day.
My copy of Windows 7 wasn't genuine. I did a completely clean install of a genuine copy of Windows 8.1 one week ago, just to rule out problems on the OS level. I just got a random restart an hour ago. I only brought over media files from Win7, so I'd say my problem must be hardware related, or something to do with my power socket.
Thoughts? Unfortunately, I can't change sockets easily, as I would have to move my computer into another room for possibly weeks just to see if the problem reoccurred (it's so rare).
The event viewer shows that these crashes coincide with Event ID 41: Kernel-Power. The event data is always blank as follows:
BugcheckCode 0
BugcheckParameter1 0x0
BugcheckParameter2 0x0
BugcheckParameter3 0x0
BugcheckParameter4 0x0
SleepInProgress false
PowerButtonTimestamp 0
My monitors do not turn off when the computer self-reboots and they are connected to the same surge protector as the computer. Does that pretty much rule out a socket problem?
My computer specs (nothing is overclocked):
i5 3570k @ base clock
Gigabyte Windforce 3X GTX 670 graphics card
Dell U2312HM (main monitor)
Dell P2214H (2nd monitor)
CM Storm "Spawn" mouse
Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard
Corsair TX750M PSU
16GB Corsair Vengeance LP RAM
MSI Z77MA-G45 mATX motherboard
Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB HDD
OCZ 120GB Solid 3 SSD
Things I've tried:
1. Ruled out overheating: my computer is very well cooled. Prime95 can't push any of my CPU's cores past 50C. My CPU runs @ about 35C during heavy gaming and my GPU doesn't seem to get past 40C.
2. Run Prime95 for about 14 hours with no errors.
3. Run Memtest86 to rule out faulty memory. I only did one pass, so I'm guessing I should do more?
4. Unchecked the "automatically restart" option in advanced system properties. It hasn't had any effect.
5. Uninstalled my GPU drivers and updated to the latest ones.
6. Tried to rule out a faulty PSU to no avail. Hardware monitor programs give me crazy voltage readings (8V on my +12V), but voltages seem normal in the BIOS. Should I buy a digital multimeter to test voltages under full load?
I have faced BSOD it says KERNEL_APC_during bla bla while booting into windows. i don't know what's the cause of this because it hapenned randomly (I mean sometimes I can go boot to desktop, and sometimes I faced the BSOD). I assume that maybe my realtekk driver is the problem .
Here I attach my minidump file.
I got my new ASUS laptop on Mother's Day this year, and the first event happened a week later. I've had this same event happen 6 times since then as shown by the attached image.
I'm comfortable with computers but am not an IT person so I'm not comfortable performing tasks within my system unless I know what the heck I'm doing or why.
W7 forum said overclocking (it's not), heat (this last time it had been in sleep mode while I was out and within moments of waking it up it crashed), sudden loss of power (it's plugged in AND has 100% battery left) and so on. In other words, it doesn't appear to be related to any of those things. It just randomly happens.
1) why this keeps happening and
2) how to fix it?
I've been very disappointed in my new laptop since getting it; I've NEVER had such issues with a new computer before..and I thoroughly dislike Windows 8 and I doubt I'm alone in that view.
Since today my friend is being hit with some BSOD's containing the text: "Kernel Security Check Failure"
We have no idea where this all came from, my friend did not download some sketchy, unstable, downloads or something. We did some research and it apparently is an issue with drivers, That gets no bell ringing because his computer was running smoothly about half a year now, with no major changes like an OS upgrade. We have found that it's useful to read some dump files.
We found the dump file locator software on this forum and ran it on his computer, and the result you can find as attachments.
I am getting a random BSOD and I can't pinpoint the cause. It seems to be completely at random.

I have been using my asus laptop but recently started blue screening. When trying to shut it down the screen will go black, but the system lights remain on and it remains running, however irresponsive. It also began showing a blue screen with the warning "Driver power state failure".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Lenovo Flex 14" and have been getting BSODs out of nowhere, usually after a while of surfing the net.
I thought the ram is flawed so I went back to the store for a new ram and the BSOD problem halted for a week but now it's coming back again.
I have attached the dump log using SR.
I'm getting random BSODs lately. The errors say
"Kernel IN Page error" and "Critical Process Died"
After reboots, some of my software gets reset (i.e. I need to relogin to chrome to get my preferences/plugins back)
New Machine turn on after being disconnected from the power plug back in a few minutes later , turn on , BSOD ,, restarts then starts fine and runs no issues , shut down fine restart fine , take away from a power source wait a few mins plug back in turn on BSOD lol
BSOD: Driver IRQ Not Less Or Equal
SF Grab attached
So Since upgrading to windows 8 pro about 2 weeks ago, My computer seems to BSOD with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I attached the pulled from the "SF Diagnostic Tool". and attached them to the thread.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMain Symptom : The new PC stops responding after several hours (sometimes a few) of intensive work and then it shuts down.Sometimes it produces a blue screen with the "critical process dies" message and sometimes doesn't.The problem was appearing also after fresh install of 2 versions of windows 7.Now in official Windows 8 it appears also. All these 3 windows versions were working fine on other desktops.
Event viewer : One critical error appears every time : Event ID 41 , task 63 , kernel-power.
Connected Peripherals :
1)Keyboard
2)Stylus pen
3)Printer
4)Wireless usb adapter
5)Stereo speakers
6)usb hub
7) four external hard disc drives
What I personally tried so far and what the technician did :
1. Tried 3 versions of Windows to see if the problem had to do with them. The problem appeared in all versions.
2. Updated all drivers and MB and VGA drivers of course. No result.
3. Ran memtest and hard disc check. No problems.
4. Disabled one of the two audio drivers ( disabled nvidia audio and left enabled the realtek audio). No result.
5. Disabled sleep.No result
6. I personally checked for 3 hours how the PC responds with only mouse and keyboard connected and without heavy use. The PC didn't crash. The technician also did the same with his mouse and his keyboard for 10 hours but without heavy use also. The PC didn't crash. The technician returned my PC and said that he couldn't find any problem in his lab and that the problem must probably have to do with the peripherals.
So when the problem really appears : The problem appears when all the peripherals are connected and after a little bit of intensive use. ( Photoshop many hours - Transfers of thousand of images from one external hard dick to the other - Printer and internet use ).
The same peripherals were used on the old PC with winxp, in the same electricity plug, and there was no problem at all.
I have spent a lot of time to understand if the problem is software or hardware related. My guess goes to a possibly problematic PSU.The PSU is Corsair 650W and new of course but i think it can't handle many peripherals and intensive use.If the problem was driver related then i guess that the crash would appear not only after heavy use but also after normal use.Another guess is that there is a problem with usb controller and that's why the peripherals that are connected via usb are causing problems,
I attach the SF diagnostic folder.
Lately just after I updated my Windows 8.1 all of the sudden my PC started shutting down for no reason and I had to restart it. It often occurs during the morning hours, but it also occurs during the evening hours, too. It's a Kernel Power error with Event ID 41, Version 3, Level 1, Task 63.
Here's the zip file and text document attachments I made which contains more information about what's going on with my PC.

File Type: txt Critical Error Details.txt
My pc just started crashing a few days ago. I will try to be brief because guess what you all really need to see is the zip file. I have tried a few things to work with this code 41 kernel and I am not sure what is causing it. I am mostly crashing it seems when I try to use windows features/tools. It cant seem to complete any recovery etc tools before crashing. I have attached this file...
View 9 Replies View RelatedLately I've been getting the same BSOD over and over. It wasn't as bad at first, but at this point it happens almost every day, sometimes multiple times.
View 8 Replies View Relatedthis laptop is freezing - requiring a hard reboot - every week or two and I can't seem to determine from the logs where to look.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile playing war thunder on steam my screen went black and i couldn't do anything. I restart my computer and play again it crashes. After one more time i look at my event viewer and find critical error event ID:41. I don't whether its the game or my pc.

I have started having BSODs since last week. They seemingly seem to occur at random after using my computer around an hour. My computer is 2 years old, and I have never had problems with it, nor have I made any changes in the last weeks.
I have run chkdsk on both my drives, and they do not have any problems. I have also run a memorycheck (3 runs) and everything seems to be fine there as well.
After the first BSOD last week, my computer did not want to start up anymore, since for some reason my SSD was not the designated boot drive anymore. After changing this back it starts though, only to crash after a while again.
I have used the SF Debug tools, since my computer for some reason does not create dumpfiles in the designated folder.
I get randomly BSOD on my Windows 8.1 and I don't know whats the problem.
I have attached the files made with SF Diagnostic Tool
I started to get this bsod randomly, even when computer is not at 100% load. When I shutdown computer it creates dmp file with error too. When computer bsod with kernel security bsod it creates log with bugcheck error 0x00000139..
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I started getting BSOD when the PC is restarting saying kernel security check failure.
I have to hard reset 3-4 times in order for it to boot normally.
I keep getting blue screen all the time, its so frustrating, ive reinstalled for 2nc time now and this error doesnt go away. I dont know what to do, i dont know if it is a hardware problem or a software problem, ive run RAM and HDD tests and passed both. And everytime i get blue screen, the bios reverts to some old settings ive had.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've bought this computer before 1 month and started to having problems with BSODS when it had windows 7. It was IRQL not less or equal errors and so on. I thought it was hard drive problem with bad sectors.
What I did was completely format the hard drive (low level format), Installed Windows 8.1 with graphic drivers (other drivers were already included) and started getting kernel security check BSOD errors.
I've been working on my mothers laptop and she has a HP Pavilion G6-1C51NR. She told me her laptop was a bit slow, so I decide to upgrade her to Win 8.1 from Win 7. I did a fresh install of Win 8 then updated to Win 8.1, now here is the weird part. Every time I boot the Laptop I get the Kernal Data Inpage Error once, then it restarts itself and it normally boots into the OS and I am able to use the laptop fine. This never happened when she had Win 7 on her laptop, and she had no viruses either. It started to happen ever since I installed Win 8 to her laptop, it happened on Win 8 and on 8.1. I have even re-installed the OS multiple times to see if it fixes it, but nope still has the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't remember the exact details but my computer Blue Screened with something about kernel memory exception (not entirely sure). This has been going on for weeks and I normally just ignore it.
Unfortunately its getting worse and I have a feeling my hardware is at fault but I'm not entirely sure.

So a few nights ago I was on my computer. The power randomly went out in my neighborhood without warning despite the fact a storm wasn't present. I restart the computer and continue. Later that night I receive a BSOD Kernel System Check Failure and have to restart again. Now 3 days later, it does the same thing once a day. Except today was different. After my third blue screen I opened up chrome to research the matter when a message popped up to inform me that my chrome settings had become corrupted. This makes me worry that this has its roots in the bowels of my system's memory.
These are the files that windows suggested I send to microsoft:
c:windowsminidump-60414-17484-01.dmp
c:usersmasonAppDatalocalTempWER-61359-0.sysdata.xml
c:windowsmemory.DMP
I know you can't do too much with these, but I thought it might serve some purpose.
