Got solved by me deleting efi folder from ISO per Ultra ISO and finally I got it on my so called 4gig flash drive...
Figured I don't really need an efi folder because I don't have any UEFI at all.

How To Pin Two Files To Taskbar From All Apps Screen
Jan 24, 2013The "Pin to Taskbar" function, though always available for programs, appears temperamental in regard to data files (txt, doc, pdf). At the moment I find that if I pin a file to Start, the "Pin to Taskbar" option will then appear if I right-click it on the Start Screen or All-Apps Screen (though it still won't appear in the Desktop environment). But I'm sure I've tried that before and it didn't work then.
At any rate, on one occasion (January 9th) I was able to pin two files to the Taskbar from the All-Apps Screen (after making them appear there by putting shortcuts to them in the Start Menu folder). And yet -- although those two files are still on my Taskbar -- that method fails to work now!

Jan 9, 2014I have a need for inspecting a huge batch of files created by Word 97. They mostly consist of a complex mixture of figures that (I've been told) on the original Word 97 were all ordered into columns (but no *tables* format was used). On my Windows 8.1, I have Kingsoft Writer installed and this shows me just a jumble of words and figures whose meaning I can't easily guess. It can't obviously read the exact format of Word 97.
I know I can find a Word 97 Viewer somewhere on the Microsoft site - but nowhere I'm seeing anything mentioned as compatible with Windows 8 and I'm reluctant to install something that might compromise my great new computer. Would it be o.k. to install on Windows 8 a Word Viewer created for previous operating systems?
Can't Edit Files In Windows Apps Folder?
Nov 6, 2013There was a Metro app that I installed that I liked the functionality of but didn't like the fonts for; I knew where the configuration was to change the appearance (a CSS file in the C:Program FilesWindowsApps<app name> directory),
but when I tried to modify the file, it kept giving me an "Access is denied." error without any extra information.
I tried changing the ownership of the apps folder to my own account; didn't work. Changed the ownership of that specific file, and all the other files within that folder; still not allowed. I went into the PowerShell as administrator and tried copying or renaming the file; still "Access is denied." and nothing else.
Is there a way to make this file editable, or is the access blocked on a system level? I just want to change a few fonts around, but if Microsoft is trying to prevent me from doing so in order to protect its walled garden, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up on Windows 8.

Jul 3, 2014I am having a problem where any msi (and some .exe's) I have try to run to install a program have trouble accessing the AppData folder.
This is a recent install of Windows 8.1 (on a fresh drive) and then moved the user folder (which I think could be causing the issue). I moved the user folder using these steps User Folders - Change Default Location . I have proper access to the folder and everything. The most recent failure for me was Skype, after trying to launch the app which (seemingly) comes with Windows 8, I decided to install it myself. When I did, that box came up.
TL : DR - Programs will not install and it seems to revolve around my AppData folder.

For most of the apps, you cant delete them by generic methods, unlocker has to be used.
xbox video and xbox music apps are not getting updated (frozen in "pending state" all night long).

I recently transferred my music over from an external HD and now when I attempt to find them in my Xbox app I can't seem to select that drive. It only sees my SSD, and I do not want to install music on that. How do I make it so my apps pull files right from that drive?

As an example, I use an on line portal for my work and when I click on the program button to view an invoice it opens in an adobe file but then stays behind the program screen, I then have to go to the task bar to bring it to the front so it can be printed.

Oct 24, 2013installing apps on my laptop running window 8.1. I select install the app I want. The store downloads it and "installs" it. The files are hidden in the program files however in the start menu the app icon is just a box. When i click on it, it says that there is a problem and it cannot be opened. the store would repair the install. I have tried that but no luck. No apps seems to be working that I download and i cant delete them because there is no such option in the start menu. And then manually deleting the files is also impossible because windows blocks it even when i have admin rights.

May 8, 2014I bought 2 years ago an HP 2000 NOTEBOOK PC, it came with windows 8 and when i turned it on today it was like new, there-s nothing left, except some programs in my desktop, but they are like new (example: when i opened word it asked my named)
Everything is like if i have never used it before, and I couldn't find any of my documents. I remember this happened like a year ago, but restarting it all came back to normality, but now it wont fix doing that
Any way to find my docx. by using the search options, and i have found them my docx. files, but i cant find a way to integrate them again to my system because if i search them from a windows folder i cant find any of them in my documents or my pictures, so this are my questions:
1) is there a way to put back my configuration, files, apps and everything as it was or i have to manually insert my documents in my system and forget my apps and configurations?
2) i read that i can use restore point and this wont affect my files, but if it goes wrong (the restore point option) is there a danger that i lost the opportunity to fix all my files and configuration? (I am asking this because i wont risk my work doing something that it might not be able to change). doing this restore point will be the solution to my problem or is this used for other typo of problems different than mine?
3) what do you think is the problem or the reason that this happens? I am worried that this has happened before and that it might happen again and as is very important to me i would want to prevent it.

Jul 17, 2014Not sure why, have never experienced this in previous versions of Windows,but I can't seem to get pdf files to open in Firefox.
Using the latest version of firefox, video drivers, and adobe reader.
Got adobe reader installed fine, and adobe flash player installed fine,but still pdf files won't open in firefox.
when I click on a pdf file to open it in the browser, it doesn't do anything,its like the link to the pdf won't open at all. Happens every time.
Only way I can open pdf's on the web is to right click on the pdf link,click on 'save link as' download it to the computer, and open it in adobe reader.
I can do that, problem is this is my wifes computer, and she's not as computer literate as I am, so she has to ask ME to do all that for her whenever she comes across a PDF document on the web, which happens alot with her taking online classes right now. don't want her to have to call me every time she needs to open a pdf document ya know? especially when its something small like a groupon or something she only needs to view once to print the thing...

Upgraded To Windows 8 Pro - Cannot View Personal Files In New Apps Screen
Jan 3, 2013I've upgraded from Windows 7 PC to Windows 8 Pro (not clean install) today and I can't now view my personal files in the new apps screen. E.g If I go into the photo app it says there are no pics available. I thought I'd lost the data but when searching around I noticed a folder had been created on the new desktop which was the same name as my PC name in Windows 7. Clicking into this folder took me to Users folder -> and my folders which contain all the music and photo files etc.
If I launch Explorer, On the left hand side of the Explorer screen (where it displays the Library docs) I am unable to select any of these or drag files to these from the folder described above. Also, when connecting my iPhone, it asks if I want to import my pics. I know all of these have already been imported but it doesn't recognise this and tries to import them all again, I assume into the new location in Windows 8.
Is this something to do with permissions. I've used my hotmail account to set up as a new Windows 8 profile and this has Admin rights. Or do I physically have to copy he data to the new location where personal library files are held in Windows 8.

I tried Microsoft's solution of unchecking the box under options that says "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" but it was already unchecked. I checked it and unchecked it and I'm still having the problem. This is using Excel 2013 with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Dec 22, 2013On my old Win 7 and Win Vista and Win XP laptops I've had no problems opening and viewing my old MPEG-2 video files. My new laptop running Win 8.1 will not allow me to view them.
Windows Media Player will only recognize them as audio files - not video - though the sound will play. Real Player is the same - the application will open and begin playing a file but only as audio file. I've tried the built in Toshiba media player and it shows errors and won't open the files at all.
Again - these are conforming MPEG-2 NTSC 760X480 video file (old analog home movies) captured using an ATI video card dongle to connect to my video source and an old version of capture application ULead Video Studio. These files conform in every way to MPEG-2 standard/format and will run on all of our PC EXCEPT the new one running Win 8.
I bought and loaded a video editing application from Corel and it will open and play these files perfectly so why won't Win Media Player and Real Player recognize them when running behind Windows 8?

Apr 15, 2014Out of the blue today when I opened PSE 11 and then tried to use it to open a file on my Desktop, it went to sleep. Task Manager showed it "not-responding". Rebooting the computer did not work. After a couple of tries, I waited for 2-3 minutes and it then displayed files on the desktop. I switched the location it was searching, which was Desktop to my photo folder, and everything started working normally. Closed and restarted, and it was fine opening files from my Pictures folder. But, when I switched it to Desktop it went to sleep again for 2-3 minutes. At one point it got a message, which I forget exactly, but basically saying it could not find the file it was searching for??
It seems unique to the Desktop location. The Desktop is part of the operating system (Windows 8.1), and on a SSD. The Pictures folder is on my HDDs. I don't recall making any changes to the setup.
Summary of the symptoms:
1. Only is slow with File, Open, or File, Open As, when the location is the Desktop
2. Operating system (8.1) is on a SSD. Normal file folder is on HDD.
3. Same actions when location is Pictures on HDD is normal.
4. Process Explorer does not seem to detect any activity going on during the "sleeping" mode
