View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased new PC with Windows 7. I cannot figure out how to transfer Photos from my HP Printer to My Pics Folder on my PC. When I had XP it was a simple procedure and I really wish I had it back as there are so many things on Windows 7 that confuses the hell out of me.

Is there any photo editing software comparable to the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. I have tried Gimp, Picasso and paid for other versions of Adobe. None are as user friendly and have the editing tools that PhotoDeluxe had.
View 5 Replies View RelatedExplorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI found out an issue on two DELL computers, I wanted to post it here if anybody else comes across the same isse. Hope this is ok with you guys.
iPhone is a Dominant Design though ;-) Started to test Windows 7 and discovered that the iPhone and iTunes got a problem with it. Windows 7 wants to install the iPhone as MTP USB Device, which fails. iTunes want's to access the iPhone (responds with Error 0xE8000065) and starts to freeze. Unfortunately the Windows Media Player 12.0.1700.0 freezes as well.
I guess Apples Service and the MTP Protocol from Windows are fighting against? The MTP USB Device is always being tried to be installed by Windows 7, with no luck. Somebody has a solution for this?
I recently used my new iphone USB got from Fry's (i used before without any problems) to my windows computer -- used itunes no problems -- any backups no problems. Suddenly it stopped working as it is not getting recognized by my computer. Now, getting error 43 on my device manager. I have windows 7 ultimate.I also used my usb with my ipod and iphone to my usb port in my car to use to play music and it cannot recognize it now. My radio turns off when I plug this in. My usb cable is new!! WTH! Then i used another usb in my computer and still won't budge! no recognition? Then used it in my car then to my work computer then to my laptopn and both usb's are not recognized. WTH?Note, all other usb devices work in my computer i.e.: External HDD and mouse/printer BUT my (2) usb cables don't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dell laptop running windows 7. I dont own an iphone. I never will. Once, about 15 months ago, shortly after i bought it, someone connect their iphone to transfer a file. 5 mins later he was done. Its never been connected since, nor has any other iphone.Since then, ive had an "iphone" icon showing under my computer which is seemingly a complete ghost. I cannot delete it, cant find any record of any iphone files when i search for them, right click simply gives me an option to open which does nothing, or create a shortcut.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anybody can help with the following.
I'm running Win7 Home 32-bit with all of the latest updates and also have the latest version of iTunes installed. I'm trying to connect an iPhone to my PC, via iTunes, but it is not recognised by iTunes, and I keep getting an error saying that it cannot read the iPhone.
However, the iPhone does appear in Windows Explorer (apparently as a camera, as I can read the DCIM file and look at the photos there), but as the iPhone is not jailbroken I cannot see any other files. The iphone is running iOS5.
From searching online, it appears that the problem may be that Windows thinks it is a camera, and has atatched a particular driver to it (an MTP driver). Others also suggest that I need to have the phone installed with a different driver (usbappl)
If I uninstall the phone or try and automatically update the driver then it says that there is no better driver.
I have also tried to specifically update it with the usbappl driver (by updaing the driver and using the "have disk" option and then browsing to where the usbappl driver is installed). In this case I get an error saying that "the folder specified doesn't contain a compatible driver for your device).
how I can get Windows to update with the correct driver, or some other way of getting iTunes to see the iPhone.
I would like to synchronize my Outlook 2010 (where I have all my contacts etc.) with iphone (where I have none - but I do ical and reminders). Can anyone help? I read a thread here saying one could do it via Google - but I don't really use gmaIl (I do have one account but not a very active one).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to use my iPhone as a modem but do so wirelessly through Bluetooth. After downloading the latest Centrino drivers for my laptop's Bluetooth adapter, I successfully paired my iPhone and my laptop. The problem is that I can only share music files. For some reason, I can't share Internet access over Bluetooth. It's not coming up as an option in the "Devices" section once both devices are connected. Am I doing anything wrong or do I need to create a network from within Windows 7? I tried setting up the drivers using Microsoft's internal database of drivers but it couldn't find any drivers for my Bluetooth adapter. As a result, the two wouldn't even pair up. Downloading the Intel drivers fixed that problem. But now, I find myself not being able to tether without USB.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'll start here. I'm running windows 7, 32 bit and I have an iPhone4 with most recent OS. Yesterday I mistakenly shut down the computer while iPhone was backing up/syncing with iTunes. Today when I attach the iPhone, the computer does not recognize it. iTunes DOES recognize the iPhone, just not windows explorer. When I attach my iPad, the computer does recognize the iPad. I did a Windows system restore and a reset of iphone that erased all settings, but that didn't help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Studio 1569 with Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB RAM, Intel i5 Core.
When I plug my iPhone into the USB port and open iTunes, iTunes says "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer." Then I'm asked if I want to "Set up as a new iPhone" or "Restore from the backup of:"
I've already connected this phone in the past. However, each time I reconnect, I have to either restore or create a new phone, both of with require deleted and losing info and media on my iPhone.
I've read about the Gigabyte P55 BIOS update. My computer doesn't have a Gigabyte Motherboard. I tried that fix anyway and the program wouldn't let me run it because it's not a Gigabyte product. I've read in some places that on some Dell laptops, the USB ports don't work well with iPhones. That's absurd and I can't imagine that would be the proble; I hope that's not the issue.
I have Win 7 Starter on an Akoya/Median Netbook and I can't get the system to accept my iPhone as an internet 'Hotspot' either in Bluetooth, or with the USB cable.
I have Vista and XP on other machines and it was relatively easy to setup.
Specifically Windows 7, not Andriod etc.
