Voice Chat Program - Computer Audio Travels Through Mic
Feb 8, 2011Whenever I'm on a voice chat program, my computer's audio (games, music, browser audio, etc) plays straight through my mic. I've muted the stereo mix and CD mix channels, but that does nothing. If I play music and watch my mic in the audio devices, the audio level on the mic itself is spiking, as if the music is going directly to the headset.

Dec 17, 2011I got a new laptop and using any voice chat program keeps making it lose net connection, finally narrowed that down after trying multiple things. Skype is running but if I use it to talk to someone, connection drops after a few minutes then comes back on after anywhere from a few seconds to longer, does the same thing when using Msn Messenger voice chat.

Mar 28, 2012so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!

Oct 12, 2011System has been blessed with a new lease of life. Faster, more responsive and my god Windows 7 looks sexy! Now, if there is a tiny niggle of an issue, then it is why I am posting today. I have the Creative Xtreme Audio soundcard on my system and Windows 7 has updated it to all the latest drivers. Sound seems ok and thus far it is not reporting any problems. I have the Creative Media Organiser and all the other mod cons etc etc. However, where has my Volume Panel interface gone? In Win XP, I had it permanently attached to my task bar. Basically, a little volume icon if you like in bottom right corner with everything else. You right click the icon and then you get the entertainment console where you can change settings etc. Looked nice, even in XP. I must admit I'm a tad disappointed it's not here in Windows 7 and also confused as to why everything else is here except that facility.Do I have to download it separately? I don't fancy putting my original CD in that came with PC from day one as I'd have to manually look for that particular component and extract it. Infact, I don't even know if that is an option as I am pretty sure it formed part of the whole "Medisource Go" package and I have that and it's up to date.

If you're not familiar with Xfire real-time messenger, you can check it out here: Xfire - Gaming Simplified, It's really a simple and easy communication tool to use, especially favorite in gaming communities. I recently dealt with an issue concerning BS Player and it forced me to install and uninstall a lot of codecs, sometime in the process, it messed up something with my Xfire settings. There was also this huge crash there once, it crippled and disabled all my display settings, e.g. folders and thei appearance, such as thumbnails, sorted either by type or name or even some programs associated with certain file types, such as .zip - GONE! - no idea, where this came from, but I believe it crashed and damaged some registry values and resetted some settings to the default. This problem is very similar to the outline x show content while dragging issue. It's however only happening, when resizing either the whole messenger (only a very thin outline, so it can be tolerated. and resizing chat-window, there appears exactly the same thick outline, as it though, it would be dragged, but it shouldn't show that! Because outline was disabled, when dragging the whole window, it's all right, no outline, but when you want to make it smaller or bigger, it shows and it looks awful. Maybe some registry went wrong or I don't know.

Mar 1, 2012I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)
