I don't remember seeing that listing before.I have a done a couple of System Restore points but none of them show up in the action center as "Generic volume shadow copy."

The reason for this was that when I started the computer it booted up fine until I had to type my password to enter windows; after that windows did not load. The system was restored to an earlier date and my question is: do I need to do anything else beyond the system restore to ensure the computer is working correctly? I have little idea about computers so I don't know whether the problem is still on the system or if the restore will have resolved the issue permanently.

All our PC are XP Windows 7 What we are finding is for some reason on log off or on startup it is trying to delete a profile but cant and event viewer show errors either with event code 1533 or 1530 Description:Windows cannot delete the profile directory C:Users<username>. This error may be caused by files in this directory being used by another program. DETAIL - The directory is not empty.When it cant delete the profile it the goes to put a local copy of the profile in the users folder as username.001, .002 etc All that is left is a couple of empty folders. (each time the folders are different) the are no security on this folder and they can be delete manually. Now i did google this and i know this is quite a know issue with the profiles not always being delete. I know about the tools used like uphclean etc which help with this problem alot of people face but its there a permanant fix for this or is this just typical behaviour that we all must live with?

My system has an onboard nVidia geForce 7100 Revision A2 / nForce 630i Revision A2
Most of the time my graphics card is working fine but sometimes (and to often to my liking) after a reboot, my system does not see my AMD and will send my video signal trough the nVidia onboard GPU and it might take several restarts before the AMD is seen again.
Anyone can tell me what i can do to prevent this or what to look for in my bios to disable the nVidia? I already checked but see no reference to a gpu in there.

Mar 21, 2012I recently reorganized my computer and this included a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new disk. I backed up all my data on the old disk so that I could make sure I wasn't losing any important documents or whatever.I'm now sure I've got everything off the disk that I needed and am using the disk as a storage disk for media. However, there are still folders that I can't seem to erase in the Program Files, Program Files (x86), and Windows directories. Most of the files are gone but about 12GB of junk remains that I no longer need. Whenever I try to delete what is left, it says I need permission from TrustedInstaller and it won't let me delete these files.Is there any way to blow these directories away without having to format the disk? I really can't format because the disk is almost full with data that I need to keep and I don't really have any other disks to temporarily back these files up to.

Jul 19, 2012Today my Windows 7 laptop wouldn't boot, returning a persistent Windows Boot Manager error 0xC00000e9. It recommended allowing Windows to start in a diagnostic state, which didn't work. I pulled the hard drive and put it in a USB adapter which I plugged into another Windows 7 system. I was glad to see all the normal directories off the root. When I tried to change directories to UsersFrank to copy off some critical files, it said I didn't have sufficient permission. What I need to do to accomplish this? I thought I was logged in as Administrator on the second system while examining the drive. Later I may try putting the drive back into my laptop and booting off a CD to try to repair the disk, but my highest priority is to get some critical files off the drive as soon as possible.
