Nov 19, 2011when watching videos on Internet or google video or any video flash player. the audio will start to crack and pop. little at first then gets worst and worst. it gets even more worst when you change the resolution high. here is the weird thing. the crack and pops are gone when you maximize the video to full screen. this sometimes happens in windows media player as well. sometimes when editing in sony vegas pro 11. i will get random popping noises. and audio will not be playing.this happens on 3 different headsets that i use. 2 of which are 3.5m jack plugs and another pair is usb. the usb headset uses it's own audio drives. it's my steelseries headset.i have a realtek hd audio sound device that is part of the motherboard. it is up to date.i have tried using firefox, google chrome, internet explorer, all three didn't work.all my drives are up to date.

Jan 11, 2013I'm trying setting up a good partition design for my machine. First of all here are my system specs:
Asus Zenbook: UX32A-DH31-CA
i3-3217U
4GB DDR3 SDRAM
24GB SSD
500GB HD 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
The machine shipped with Windows 8 and I decided to downgrade. Last night I reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate x64 after following the instructions on the Windows 8 forum: Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7. This was successful, but I would to configure the machine differently. Currently the machine has Windows 7 loaded on to the SSD, C:. The System Reserved partition is on the HD (designated as Z: ) and the remainder of the HD is NTFS formatted and partitioned as D: I would like to do is partition my SSD into 2 partitions, 1 for the OS and 1 for the System Reserve. It's my understanding that this will speed up boot times? The only subsequent programs I would install on the SSD is Windows Office 2010.
For the HD I would like to create 2 partitions:
1 for programs and 1 for data.
What step am I missing after I clear my drives to get the System Reserve files to install on to the SSD? - It automatically created the partition on my HD last night. Does installing Office 2010 on the SSD make sense, or should I just keep all of my programs on the D: as space on my SSD is so tight for this install? Lastly, how do I change my default temp directory in Windows from C: to D:?
Different Noise , Glitch, Crack Coming Out Of Speaker / Headphone?

Since I don't listen too much music, I did not look to resolve the problem The noise is always present, but I could hear glitching when i play with my mouse wheel.When mouse is dragged travel trough some pages, I could hear clicking sound in the back.I did try to turn off every device that interface with the sound, no luck.My PC board is an old Asus P5B with the sound controller?

I'm not a programmer and have tried desperatly to install my Adobe Web Premium software I had on my old laptop running Windows XP onto my new laptop. I tried several of the suggestions I've read on several forums but the program stalls at 90% while checking system profile.... at the very begining of the load.

Oct 23, 2011I recently installed Adobe Design Premium CS4 on my HP Pavilion Elite desktop computer. Soon after, I started to experience long boot times of up to ten minutes.
So far, I have:
1. Ran HP diagnostics on all my hardware - all passed.
2. Checked in Event Viewer, which confirmed the long boot times, but gave me little idea of what causes it.
3. Rolled back my NVIDIA GTX 460 driver to version 270.61, but that made no difference.
4. Ran a full anti-virus scan in Safe Mode using Malwarebytes - nothing showed up.
5. Checked running processes in case the CPU was being overworked - again, nothing showed up.
6. Disconnected my Hitachi USB backup drive and my SD MS Office documents-backup flash card.
7. Ran a boot trace using Cluberti's tutorial, but the computer blue screened shortly after the trace started to run, so I decided not to pursue that line of fault-finding any further.
8. Reinstalled Windows and my applications and discovered that the long boot times only restarted AFTER I reinstalled Adobe Design Premium CS4.
7. Uninstalled CS4 and the long boot times appear to have disappeared.
So, as the title of this thread suggests, can Adobe Design Premium CS4 cause long boot times with Windows 7, and if so, why?

Jul 20, 2012I am experiencing difficulties when trying to uninstall/reinstall my adobe product At the beginning of the month, I had some issues with the activation which caused the program to lock me out. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program thinking thatothing changed. Had to call adobe to deactivate my serial.Long story short, the adobe help center rectified the problem with my serialSupposedly anyway. I have no way to test it because my current installation of photoshop is corrupt due to this licensing mishap. The only way is to start fresh and install the program again.This is where the hitch is. As I previously mentioned, I was able to reinstall the program once without issue. Now, I can't even run the installer from the DVD. A window stating "Setup is initializing" appears, then quickly disappears. Nothing happens afterwards. Also, I am unable to remove the program from windows. The entry is there in "Programs and Features," however selecting the option to uninstall it does absolutely nothing. No window appears or anything.
The problem seems to only be with the adobe installer. I can remove my other applications and install new ones just fine. It's just for some reason Windows refuses to run the Adobe setup now. It doesn't make sense. The disc is not scratched at all and has never been stored outside its case. I'm at a complete loss what to do next. I can't remove it and I can't reinstall it.I am running Windows 7 64 bit. The rest of my PC specs can be found in my profile. CS3 has worked perfectly on the OS for over a year now. All these problems only appeared this month out of nowhere.

Dec 1, 2009I have recently purchased a copy of Windows 7 Upgrade for my PC. Like an idiot, I upgraded my laptop and PC without realizing that you could only use one serial key per machine. My question is, what exactly happens if you never use an activation key on one machine? I was told that a message just shows up every day? Cannot Access USB Serial Converter
Apr 28, 2010I have a USB<->serial converter (several, actually) that I cannot get to work under Windows 7. I know the hardware works.
When I try to open the virtual serial port in a terminal program, I get an error message stating that it cannot open the port. When I try to use the old-fashioned command line method ("copy test.txt com7" from the "DOS prompt"), I get an "Access denied" error message.
More details: My computer is a dual-boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit / Windows XP Pro 32-bit system. The USB serial converter worked immediately under WinXP when I rebooted, and it even works in the WinXP virtual machine under Windows 7. I have the latest certified drivers (from FTDI), which are stated to function under Windows 7 64-bit.
The serial converter appears as it should in the Device manager. My computer has one physical COM port, and I can access that one without any problems.
The serial converter is a USB-RS485-WE-1800-BT from FTDI. I have tried a USB<->RS232 converter (don't have the model number here), but it behaved exactly like the other one. I also started the terminal program as an adminstrator (since I suspected access rights issues), but it did not help.
I have tried uninstalling the drivers, then installing the latest certified driver and the even later non-certified driver, but still had the same behaviour.

The dive computer attaches to the PC via a hardware adapter designed to plug into a serial port. Under Windows XP, I used a USB-to-serial converter to be able to attach this adapter to a newer laptop via one of its USB ports. The Suunto software and the USB-to-serial converter are both a few years old.Today I installed the Suunto Dive Manager software on my Windows 7 laptop. The software seems to basically run okay under Windows 7; however, when the USB-to-serial converter is attached to the laptop, the Suunto Dive Manager software reports that it finds no serial ports on the PC.Are there known issues and fixes for using USB-to-serial converters under Windows 7?

So can I do it somehow for free? I have the 7 Home Premium serial number on the sticker on the bottom of my laptop, but I don't have the DVDs. Is it somehow possible to download the DVDs of the internet, and then put my serial number in?
I know I could find it on the torrent websites, but I am not sure I want to do that. Would it be legal to download a copy of windows 7 from a torrent website, but then put my serial number during the installation?
