I have been all over the internet looking for a driver that works with this device. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate RTM 64-Bit. Every driver that I have found that will "work" absolutely does not work. Any ideas on a working driver?
I'm operating on a desktop intel dq35j0 and clean installed window 7 ultimate.
in device manager two errors appeared
pci serial port driver not installed ( code28)
simple communications controller driver not installed (code 28)
checked hardware id's in device manager as follows
pcven_8086&dev_29b7&subsys_4f4a8086&rev_02 for serial port driver
and the same hardware id for the simple com controller
Ive tried to search these drivers on intel site but get lost as to wher I may find these drivers.
the same issue is a problem on two other pc's after cleaninstall of win 7
1.) is an hp dx2000 nt
here the network controller driver has not installed
the hardware id is
pciven_0675&dev_1702&subsys_6692&rev_00
2.) is a hp pavillion dv6 (1125ei) notebook
here an "unknown device" driver not loaded
the hardware id is
acpihpq004 (double zero fout and not thriple zero four).
My Windows 7 64 bit install is all good except for the Synaptics touchpad integrated into my keyboard. It is recognized as a Microsoft Serial Mouse, but the latest Synaptics drivers don't seem to 'do' serial. I have tried the new 14.0 driver, as well as an older 9.0 version designed for 64 bit Vista, but to no avail.
I've also tried a serial to PS/2 to USB conversion, and though the touchpad is then recognized as an HID compliant mouse, I can't get it recognized as a touchpad with scrolling, etc. I can't use it as a PS/2 mouse because my new motherboard only has a PS/2 keyboard connector.

View 6 Replies View Relatedupgraded my O/S from windows professional XP 64-bit with a clean install of windows 7 Professional x-64. The motherboard is an Intel D972XBX2, and the PC that it is installed in works just fine. The devices connected to the on-board SATA connectors include a 500GB Hitachi HDD and a Lite-on DVD-ROM drive, and I do not have any problems with these. However, indications in Device Manager are that no driver has been installed for the serial ATA controller, and this is a big puzzle that has me stumped. I am unable to find any compatible driver from either the Intel driver download center, or microsoft windows update, for this component and I am unable to get any assistance from Intel Tech Support. This is simply because the D975XBX2 mother board is no longer made by them. I've had this PC for almost four years, and all hardware passed the Microsoft windows 7 hardware compatibility test which convinced me to follow through with the upgrade to this operating system.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Logitech USB headset, and it worked fine for the first few days I had it. I noticed, however, about two days after the purchase that it failed to work. My USB mouse worked fine, however, so I figured it was the headset. I discarded the headset and continued using the built-in microphone. Later, however, when I had to restart my system in order to install an update, my mouse stopped working as well (they work fine on other computers). I looked to see what the problem was in the Device Manager, and my Universal Serial Bus driver was apparently damaged.
As well as my Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller and my Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller. I attempted to uninstall, reboot my system, and then let Windows automatically reinstall the drivers, but they always fail to do so in the middle of the installation process. I then attempted to do a system restore the day before both the Windows update and then before the problems with the USB headset, but the problem persisted. If all else fails, I might have to reformat, but I do not want to have to result to that extreme since I cannot salvage anything of value onto an external hard drive.
The PCI to USB Controller has the error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
The OpenHCD USB controller has the error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
The Universal Serial Bus USB Controller has the error: The Drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28). The system cannot find the file specified. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Suunto dive computer that's designed to download data to a PC software program called Suunto Dive Manager. The dive computer attaches to the PC via a hardware adapter designed to plug into a serial port. Under Windows XP, I used a USB-to-serial converter to be able to attach this adapter to a newer laptop via one of its USB ports. The Suunto software and the USB-to-serial converter are both a few years old.Today I installed the Suunto Dive Manager software on my Windows 7 laptop. The software seems to basically run okay under Windows 7; however, when the USB-to-serial converter is attached to the laptop, the Suunto Dive Manager software reports that it finds no serial ports on the PC.Are there known issues and fixes for using USB-to-serial converters under Windows 7?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a TOUCHMATE PC with me, (Core i5 configuration). It came pre-installed with Windows 7 - Home Premium. I need to get back to the factory settings of this PC, but there is no such thing like that, (as you find in some laptops). So, I needed to install Windows 7 - Home Premium again with the same serial key, that i have.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyway, a month ago I bought a laptop which came with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. However, it had issues (for those who know about the issue, it's when "Not Responding" error constantly appears in all applications. Something to do with setting the drives to work in IDE or AHCI mode). So I put Windows XP on it, erasing the 7.
But then 2 days ago I got myself a desktop. It's relatively high end, but it's custom built. Did not come with an OS installed. So I put Ubuntu Linux on it. But I'd like to install the 7.
So can I do it somehow for free? I have the 7 Home Premium serial number on the sticker on the bottom of my laptop, but I don't have the DVDs. Is it somehow possible to download the DVDs of the internet, and then put my serial number in?
I know I could find it on the torrent websites, but I am not sure I want to do that. Would it be legal to download a copy of windows 7 from a torrent website, but then put my serial number during the installation?
i think i entered wrong serial for windows 7 then it doesnt enter to windows what a problem

It says vista and XP, but i figured since i have installed a dozen older games no reason this wouldn't work. But it will not accept the serial number it came with. I also tried vista and XP compatibility mode and ran the exe as admin?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI build a PC that's about a couple months old. All of the sudden one day I booted up and once the windows 7 boot logo shows up, the number lock light on my key board goes off and doesn't go back on. Once windows fully boots I move the mouse and nothing happens same goes for the keyboard. Also the Ethernet icon on the start bar shows there is no connection. It also indicates that there are no speakers hooked up, which there are. It seems like a driver issue, but all the drivers were installed and have been working fine for the few months that I've been using the system. Lso in device manager there are yellow triangles next to my Ethernet, sound card, and usb devises. And a message will show up at the bottom of the screen saying "installing devise drivers" then "devise drivers failed to install' or something like that.Maybe its a virus. View 8 Replies View RelatedMy motherboard friend and I am in the process of replacing the mobo/cpu. I assume that I need to reinstall windows again. But I do not have my serial from my win7 installation (legit).I bought it through my school when I was in school (through MS academic alliance program), and got it via download, so I don't have the CD case or anything that will have the serial. I thought I had the serial saved, but apparently I don't or have lost it.
Is there any way to grab it off the hard drive before I reinstall windows?
I took my computer in for some repairs and requested that I get Windows 7 installed on it since they wiped the hard drive for me to begin with. So they did that and never bothered to ask if I wanted 32bit, or 64bit.My motherboard and so on are 64bit compatible, and the sole reason why I want this is because many of my video-games claim that I don't have enough memory with the 3.25gb of RAM usage to use certain video settings. In reality I have 16gb of RAM ready to be used, unfortunately the 32bit Windows 7 can't use it. Kind of lame that in 2012 all versions can't simply do it, but I'm sure more technological reasons negate it.Now my questions are that my current 32bit Windows 7 serial key can be used with a different install CD that is 64bit? My sister has Windows 7 64bit CD and I'm wondering is that even legal to do to begin with, as well as possible? Oh and I'm aware they must be the same version such as Home Premium, which they are.
