Remember Start Run History, But Not Program History
Nov 3, 2009Is there a way to have start->run history kept while not keeping a history of the recently launched programs from the menu?
I know under the properties you have "Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu", but this is what controls both.
I'm figuring theres probably some registry entry that will let me control them individually.
Windows 7 Won't Save Web History
Aug 5, 2012I bought my new computer about 3-4 months ago but the other day it decided to stop saving web history. It will show some pages but not all. If it does save, it will save the initial page but nothing after that. Normally when opening a website, a bar will appear above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that says 'Website found, Waiting for reply...' on the left hand side and 100% on the right, etc., that bar is no longer appearing. I've check the internet options part and the 'delete browsing history on exit' is unchecked. Disk space is set at 250 and days at 20. I'm running windows 7, IE 9.

Sep 5, 2011I recently bought a new desktop (Dell Intel core i5 2500 processor, 8gb ram, Windows 7 64bit Pro version). It is set up for automatic updates and I have not tweaked or added anything except Norton anti virus software. I am running IE9 (v9.02).
Yesterday I went to check up in IE9 Browsing History for a site I had visited earlier and found it was only displaying internal sites on my desktop visited. None of the various websites I had visited showed up. I looked back to earlier days and it was the same, nothing except internal searches.
I looked on the web for fixes, and found suggestions to check Internet options to check if it was set to Delete Browsing History when exiting search. It is not. Also to check if I am running In Private Browsing. I am not. And to try a reset of IE9 - I did and it made no difference.
I also have a Samsung Netbook running Windows 7 starter and the same version of IE9 (9.02) also running Norton anti virus and that is working just fine. So is it related to having Windows 7 64 bit version? Is there a fix?

Nov 23, 2012IE9 has stopped adding webpages to my history (view => explorer-bars => history). This has been happening for 3 days now. The only entries in history are now regular files (like JPGs) under the heading "Computer", but no URLs or webpages are listed below that.
Two days ago I increased my history storage from 250MB to 512MB and increased the number of days to store from 250 to 512. Unfortunately, nothing has changed.

I have the 64Bit Ultimate Edition btw.But no matter if I download that Messenger directly on the Facebook page or from some other Website, I can't get it installed. I double click the file, Windows pops up and asks me (as usual) if I want to install that file, I say yes. Then you would think that something would come up next, but it doesn't.When I check in Taskmanager, I see that the installation process just disappears out of the active Processes list after a few seconds.

Nov 16, 2012I am using Win 7 64bit. I am unable to get to Facebook (and Mozilla, probably many others) through IE 9, Firefox, and Chrome.
If I use Win XP, I can access Facebook from all three browsers. I have tried multiple PCc/Laptops and the same thing happens....it works in XP but not in Windows 7 x64.
If I run an XP virtual machine within the Win 7 machine, I can access Facebook.It seems to be something with Win 7 64bit (maybe 32bit as well?)
If use a web proxy like HidemyAss.com I can at least bring up the Facebook login page, though cookies become an issue.
I have followed multiple suggestions from other sites i found such as clear cache, DNS cache, resetting TCP/IP stack etc.

Sep 7, 2011I recently upgraded my mothers computer to a dual core with Windows 7. She loves to play games and her favorite is Video Bingo in Facebook (Mesmo games). Since this upgrade bingo will freeze up after the game is completed prior to awarding tokens and asking if you would like to play another game. So far I have tried Windows Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox web browsers, cleared the cache for both the browsers and the computers DNS cache. Additionally, I have disabled tcp autotuning, removed remote differential compression, and removed IPv6. Also, I have upgraded the graphics driver. All Windows 7 upgrades are current, Adobe flash and shock wave in addition to all adobe programs are the most recent. The computer is a Dell Optiplex 740, AMD Athlon 64x2@2.2ghz, 4GB PC6400 800Mhz ram. There are other Mesmo games that are not responding correctly also. Every other App seems to work correctly and other than these issues this computer appears to work flawlessly. Unfortunately, these are my mothers favorite games. This problem doesn't exist with Windows XP.

I uninstalled to make sure it was not a faulty install. I made sure I had enough disk space, I made sure it was not deleting as soon as I shut down, its set to 20 days. Went to the location where it supposed to be stored and even there it only has files I have accessed that are on my computer.
