I would like to know how you can redirect an external IP to localhost. Im trying to emulate the server for a simple program one of my friends coded in C++ (or something). It is basicly a login and register system, upon registering the program sends a HTTP request to the server (it requests a PHP file) with username & password parameters, if the username is not taken the server replies "1", if it is taken it replies "0".I made a PHP file on my server with the same name, though it would only return "0".So here is the deal, the program connects to a server that i dont have access to, nor do i have access to the program's source code and i can't change what IP the program connects to, so i will have to somehow forward the IP it connects to to my server's IP.
Hope posted in correct area. The other day I FTP pc backup files to hosting account. Now IE 9, Firefox and Chrome do not work but IE9 (64-bit) and Maxthon Cloud do. No malware and have internet connection. Filezilla comes up
Connection attempt failed with "EAI_FAIL - Nonrecoverable failure in name resolution".
On a Win7Pro-32 system running in XP mode, I'm trying to use ODBC (v5.1.9) to connect to a MySQL db on localhost. Interestingly, when using a username with remote host privileges I am able to connect to a remote db - this tells me ODBC is installed and working properly. Yet when I try to connect to localhost with a user DSN using a login that works on the XP mode host I get a Connection failed errorSo there's clearly something about ODBC to localhost. Any solution available?[Why ODBC in XP Mode you might ask? I'm trying to develop an Excel macro in XL2003 for a client. This is my attempt to replicate their environment without creating a mess of conflicts in my own working environment.]
my wampserver 2.0 used to show localhost in the browser but when i upgraded to 2.2 it changed to 127.0.0.1 in the browser. Though they mean the same, i would want it to show "localhost" in the browser.
I have a QNAP NAS and several devices (mostly Windows 7 and iOS devices)The vast majority of my networking setup seems OK - however on one Windows 7 laptop I am having problems. The Laptop can 'see' remote shares, access the Internet and ping other devices on the network - however remote devices cannot ping the laptop. Whilst trying to ascertain what could be the cause I thought that I would ping 'localhost' on the laptop - after all, it should be able to see itself!
I need to ask something: I have Xampp installed on my desktop pc and I would like can access my local websites from other computers within network, such as my notebook. Is it possible? Do I have to make some additional configurations on my router? I have tried to access the address 127.0.0.1 on my notebook but I didn't have success.
Windows 7 64 bitI went to the Microsoft website and reset the hosts file. (I just copied the text on the page that said it was for the Windows 7 hosts) Prior to the hosts reset, the only text in there was 120.0.0.1 localhost. Anyone know what this means? This happened one other time before, so it has to be something.
In UNIX, for changing the directory path, there is "cd" command. .This works fine in windows 7 too.. But the problem comes when we are trying to change the path using environment variables. .
In UNIX, cd $JAVA_HOME changes the path to the value set for JAVA_HOME,
Similarly is there any command in Windows which does the trick from command prompt for changing path using Environment variables. .
Does any one know how to get the win.ini missing fixed when opening bootcfg/msconfig not found. Also How to change "forcing changes in msconifg" to "not forcing changes" in msconfig from command prompt, as well as opening msconfig from command prompt w/ dos command(s) / paramteters.
Ok So I got myself into a unique bind here. I was trying to install some custom system files (for a theme) and I did it wrong and now I cant open explorer.exe . I dont want to goto a backup because this is a easy fix. (in my view). So I need to know how to run command prompt with administrative privleges from command prompt.
I am trying to do this command: copy explorer.exe C:Windows
So if there is also another command I can just tack onto that that gives me admin rights to do it. I would be happy.
When I type into the command prompt the following: DIR "C:UsersRoyMy Documents" I do not get a listing of the My Documents directories and files. Instead the message displayed is "File not found".
This download from MS gives an A-Z of command lines that can be used in cmd promptIf you find that once downloaded it won't seem to open properly then you'll need to unblock it. Right-click on the file and choose properties, look near the bottom and you'll see where to unblock it.Brief DescriptionThis download describes the use of the command-line tools used to perform various tasks related to Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
Could anyone tell me the sleep command of Windows 7?I have try that: Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep but it doesn't work, it will become hibenate. It seems my computer doesn't support the Sleep mode, but I can click the "sleep" option in Start menu and it run perfectly.
i always use in CMD "netstat -anob" to check all programs and ip s and ports and pid, but only one of my systems , windows 7, does not perform above order recently. It gives bellow message: " the requested operation requires elevation"
I think it must be for a hidden rootkit or backdoors.
I have been running win 7 64 bit on three different x86 64 bit machines for several years with little or no major issues other than searching for drivers and so forth. however out of blue today the run command which i can turn on or off via the task bar properties and elseware. What is the main difference between Powershell and Command Prompt? I use cmd quite a lot, and I know that certain functions in Powershell, such as diskpart, gets referred to command prompt, then what is the use for powershell? Why should one use it and what is the main benefit of using it?
I ran one of the performance reports today, which claims I have a disk with the dirty bit set. Recommended running chkdsk.Fired up a command prompt and typed chkdsk v: /f/r/x..Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode.SO, I right-clicked and ran the command prompt as an Administrator. EVEN THOUGH I'M ALREADY AN ADMINISTRATOR.Got exactly the same result. Went into the command properties and SET the thing to "Run as Administrator".UAC is turned OFF.There are days with Windows 7 where I feel like everything is 2 steps forward and 1 step back. How do I make it let me do a simple chkdsk - no I DON'T want to set something to have it run at boot, or go find some 3rd party program to do the same thing. I just want to run chkdsk from this box from a command windows.
I am seeing a utility that will let me enter the command that I use in XP and then tell me what the corresponding comand or sequence of comands are in Windows 7. What I am finding is I am spending many hours locating the correct set of sequences to do something which is very straightforward in XP and do the same thing in Windows 7. I end up going onto the web and have to search for the command and the information necessary to accomplish a task. An example of this is creating an ODBC connection. In XP it exists as an option in the Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Data SOurces ODBC. In Windows 7 now its buried in Windows System32/odbcad32. I am not seeing any real advantage of using Windows 7 other than running in 64bit mode. It seems that the order of where things/commands are located and what commands are called is many times changed as well.
bootable image that contains a command prompt other than the windows 7 install or recovery disks. I just did some troubleshooting today, and I'm not exactly an expert, so I had to keep booting back into the disk after verifying that my fixes didn't work .
On one of my PCs running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit I'm getting odd behavior when I use command line switches for Windows Explorer. When I create a shortcut with the following command line it works perfectly everytime: C:Windowsexplorer.exe An normal Explorer window opens. If I create a shortcut with the following command line it rarely works. It starts but just hangs and no Explorer window opens: C:Windowsexplorer.exe /e,c:That switch at the end of the command line should cause an Explorer window to open with the C: drive selected on the left pane. That's exactly what it does on all of my PCs except one.Obviously something is set differently on this one PC but I don't know what.
