my wampserver 2.0 used to show localhost in the browser but when i upgraded to 2.2 it changed to 127.0.0.1 in the browser. Though they mean the same, i would want it to show "localhost" in the browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am still experiencing the dreaded Windows 7 "let us take control of your system" scenarios. As usual, if I create a folder and attempt to save in it, I am denied access, though this is not such an issue, as I use Take Ownership to handle this.
My problem is all of the subfolder in the My Documents folder have Read Only as the attribute and I have tried everything I know to change it.
As a last resort I have used a command prompt and used the attrib command to do the job, but with no success trying various different combinations. I tried just running command normally and then tried it as an administrator, but again no success.
This was the final command I tried attrib -r +a "H:My Documents*.*" /S /D but still no success. Does anyone know a way that will work to remove the read only attributes from all of my folders?

There are other folders in C:WindowsGlobalizationMCT that I want to use as well but not allowed to change properties.
I copied them into the MCT-US folder on 1 computer but would rather just change properties on my other computers.
My system is hidden my folders and I can't show it now because it hidden by operating system. How do I show it?

It is basicly a login and register system, upon registering the program sends a HTTP request to the server (it requests a PHP file) with username & password parameters, if the username is not taken the server replies "1", if it is taken it replies "0".I made a PHP file on my server with the same name, though it would only return "0".So here is the deal, the program connects to a server that i dont have access to, nor do i have access to the program's source code and i can't change what IP the program connects to, so i will have to somehow forward the IP it connects to to my server's IP.

On a Win7Pro-32 system running in XP mode, I'm trying to use ODBC (v5.1.9) to connect to a MySQL db on localhost. Interestingly, when using a username with remote host privileges I am able to connect to a remote db - this tells me ODBC is installed and working properly. Yet when I try to connect to localhost with a user DSN using a login that works on the XP mode host I get a Connection failed errorSo there's clearly something about ODBC to localhost. The Laptop can 'see' remote shares, access the Internet and ping other devices on the network - however remote devices cannot ping the laptop. Whilst trying to ascertain what could be the cause I thought that I would ping 'localhost' on the laptop - after all, it should be able to see itself!

View 2 Replies View RelatedTLDR: I get the "A disk read error occurred" error but the system disk is readable and checks OK in the recovery USB. So, I have two hard drives--a terabyte drive with some data on it and a smaller drive with the Windows 7 installation on it--and a USB drive. I made the USB drive into a recovery USB using the instructions here Installing Windows 7 System Recovery into USB Flash Drive | Raymond.CC Blog with the addendum found in the comments. I made a system image of the smaller drive via the control panel and then put the image in the terabyte drive. I then replaced my smaller hard drive with a new drive of a comparable size.In order to restore the drive, I booted into the recovery USB, formatted the new hard drive with ntfs, made it active, and ran wbadmin start recovery -version:xxx -items:C: -itemtype:Volume -backupTarget:C: -recoveryTarget: where C was the terabyte drive and D is the new drive. I may have the drives mixed up here, but I assure you I had them correct when I actually ran the command
After a reset, I got some generic error so I went back into the bios, and set the new drive to be at the top of all boot lists, and then rebooted. It was at this time I got the above error. I feared that my drive was actually DOA, so I booted back into the recovery. I did a D:;dir and saw that all of my old files did indeed exist, so I figure it was a boot issue. I ran the boot repair utility in the recovery menu and it said there were no errors and I should restart. I didn't restart, and instead ran a chkdsk D: /f and found no errors. I did a bootsect /nt60 /all /mbr and restarted and still nothing changed. I even tried a "bcdedit /timeout 10" and I do not see the boot loader before getting this error. Not sure if that is expected or not but I'll throw that in here.
