i just bought a new laptop, it has windows 7, i cant install programs from CDs or stuff ive downloaded. Ive tried disabling anti virus, fire wall, rebooting multiple times and the error when installing still comes up

I just reinstalled Windows 7 and added a new motherboard and cpu. I've been getting BSOD all day and it seems to be the same few errors every time, but at different intervals. I've attached a crash report from BlueScreenView.

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy custom built machine is about 9 months old. For the last 3 months or so it has been crashing multiple times per day (usually 1-2 per day). It doesn't usually crash for atleast 3-4 hours after the reboot. I can't find any thing to make it crash on demand and don't notice myself doing the same time each time it crashes. It seems pretty random.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It is the full retail version and was the first OS installed on this hard drive.
I have attached the results of the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app and the system health alert.
Already crashed 2 times today in 30 minutes. The first time i was just browsing, the second time i was playing Skyrim. This happens randomly every day. Windows 7 x64 This is what what i got from my latest crash.

I am getting the explorer.exe error multiple times in the day, I have also repair installed and also restored the system at the safe state of system but after sometimes the error occurs as before. I have also done sfc/scannow system file checking but it says the system does not have any integrity problems.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust set up WMC with my Ceton Infinitv4 PCI card. It's working well, but WMC is recording movies from cable TV multiple times (example: I ask it to record the Monday at 9 PM showing of Pulp Fiction. It also records the movie on Tuesday at 3 PM and Wednesday at 12.)
My "Series Only" settings are:

Channels: One Channel Only
Airtime: Specific Time

my internet stops working for ~30 seconds multiple times a day. I am using Time Warner Cable with a Motorla SBG6580 modem and Asus RTN56U router and a wired connection. When it drops the internet access icon in the bottom right doesn't change (no yellow exclamation point) and sometimes when I run the troubleshoot internet connections it will come back with "the DNS server isn't responding. The other computers in my house don't seem to have the problem. My computer uses a wired connection and am running Windows 7.

The problem is that Flash will not stay installed. Another problem (related?) is that I *cannot* install Itunes on this computer, it will error out each time, and Apple is notorious for telling me it is a Windows problem, nothing they can do, so I found a way around the "long pole in the tent" requirement of Itunes to Sync iPad/iPod, and this really isn't even a "problem" anymore as much as an annoyance. Other utilities, Avast virus protection, Malware Bytes, Spybot Search/Destroy with immunization, and always running Iolo System Mechanic.
All software and operating system is up to date with current patches and updates. A program I use regularly that may be suspect but also seems so innocuous as to have no bearing on it is a keyboard macro program, Keyboard Express v4. For example with this program, I can define some hot keys like ALT-CTRL-T which will insert some text I define to the program into wherever the cursor is at on the current web page or Word document. Always text, no graphics or funkiness here.
I usually use Firefox (v11.0) as my browser but interestingly enough, I discover that Flash has also disappeared when I go to IE (v9), and it appears there is a different Flash for IE than there is for Firefox, depending on which browser is used to download (multiple times daily) the Flash installer. An interesting aspect is that after I re-install Flash, IE and/or Firefox, then later on go to Outlook and click a link in an email, Outlook gives me an error message about not being able to open the link. But if I reboot, Outlook is now fine to click on and open that same link, although Flash has again gone away.

I recently performed fresh install of Windows 7 on this Laptop. The OS automatically downloaded and installed all the drivers. However after installation, now I am unable to connect to my TV using S-video.
When i connect the s-video, nothing happens. The application does not even detect the connection.
On launching the Intel Graphics application - under Display Devices, it shows the Operating Mode as Single Display. Please refer the attachment.
Before upgrading to Windows 7, it used to show Multiple displays.
Have also attached the Dxdaig information.
Can somebody help with getting the S-video display to work.
I have a desktop running windows 7 premium and will later purchase a netbook that will come with windows 7 starter. Started is dumb, and i want nothing to do with it. So can I use the same key with the installation on the desktop on the netbook without it causing issues? In other words, I want to install it on both machines. Is there a way to do this without getting another copy or using a keygen?

Frequently I get a crash when all that's running is a browser and Winamp (most recent one happened as I opened Winamp), but definitely had some in games as well.I've also had a few different error codes, the one in the title is the most recent and has come up before. The others I have gotten are 0x0000000A, 0x0000007E, and 0x0000003B. Computer is recently assembled but nothing fancy. Installed 7 for the first time a little over a week ago, Ultimate 64bit. Think I've got everything here asked of me, and will certainly scramble to get anything I missed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having quite a few blue screens lately after installing and playing a few games I bought off the Summer Sale not too long ago, and they seem to be jumping all over the place as to what the issue really is. It was mainly when I would play the game "Saint's Row the Third", which would result in a random BSOD between a few minutes to an hour or so of play, if the game itself didn't crash first for some reason, but I just recently installed TF2 for the first time on this new machine of mine and I've gotten several BSOD a day now as a result. Like... Now I get about 3+ crashes a day, and almost always guaranteed a crash whenever I try to run that game, compared to before where it was isolated to SR3 or the occasional one here or there.I got a message about a .sys file related to Avast! Anti-Virus trying to access memory after it was freed in a BSOD message earlier on, and it improved my stability quite a bit after I uninstalled the whole progam, but I've had a few more crashes since I wiped that out earlier today.

I would use a boot time imaging software to simply load the image but I am concerned about the license key for each computer.Could I update the cloned license information with the license I copied from each computer beforehand? Either by getting it from the documentation that came with the computer or by using a software tool to extract the key from the Windows 7 install that was originally on the computer before I overwrite it with the clone image.

Also I downloaded BlueScreenViewer and it came back with a majority of the problems coming from a driver called "ntoskrnl". I have ran memtest for about 8 hours (With about 8 passes) and came back with no errors so i do believe it is a driver problem other than that, I have no clue what the problemI went on to run OCCT for 30 minutes, whilst it was testing it stopped and said there was an error in core 1. I then ran it again and it stopped again saying that there was an error in core 0. I have uploaded the graphs from both of these test for analysis. The minimum temperature ranged from about 26 - 29 degrees (Idle) and the maximum was ranged from 64 - 70 degrees.

The setup required changing the registry settings in audit mode during the initial OS install. I am looking for this tutorial but now can't find it. I even posted in this post, but even those are missing so I can't just trace my posts. I'm confused as to why it is missing and am hoping anybody could lead me back to it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to do a backup with system image since Jan 15th on an Iomega 1TB external HD. Tried about 7 times and each time the backup fails at 57%. The message I receive with each failure is as follows- "Windows backup encountered an error when accessing the remote shared file. The semaphore timeout period has expired. Details: Error code 0x81000039" I chatted with a tech from my external HD manufacturer and he finally told me that the problem was with my OS and settings. I tried doing a backup on a different external HD and still failed at 57%. I have no idea which remote shared file the program is looking for. I have a home network and one other computer. That laptop was turned on so if it was looking for a file there it was available. The tech suggested that I turn off my antivirus and firewall and if I was concerned about intrusion to disconnect from the internet. Did that and the backup still failed. I have the same setup on desktop and laptop Windows 7 SP!, Vipre antivirus and firewall, and I was able to do a backup on my laptop. Another slight problem is when I have the Iomega HD running my computer will freeze randomly. For this reason I don't keep it on all the time but just turn on for a monthly backup. I was able to do one initial backup on that HD with no problem. I was told to look at the windows backup log files but they all have a .etl extension and I do not know how to open them to see if the logs give me any idea what file it is hanging up on.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my acer aspire for about 6 months and for the past 5 months this BSOD keeps happening at random times, and the symtem reboots and then restores.I have tried various methods to stop this happening - and I am now at a loss - I have tried puting hotfix on and also restoring to factory setting, i have heard about updating the bios etc but i am not great with the technical side of things.My computer came with windows 7 on it and it no disc - so how do i unistall it and then reinstall? i am hoping that i dont have to do thi however i see no other option.i should add that i contacted acer and that they have agreed to take it back and look at the hardware, however it its a software issue which i think it is - they will charge me 80 to fix it.
