I ran combofix today and after combofix was finished I suddenly get the unidentified network message. I have tried flushing dns, reseting, releasing, winsock etc. When I do ipconfig I get tunnel adapter local area connection media disconnected unidentified network, tunnel adapter wireless connection media disconnected unidentified network. ipv4 connectivity no internet access, ipv6 no internet access.
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have been having problems with my new computer running Win7 Ultimate and have had to do an upgrade install. Now IE8 and Incredimail are unable to connect to the internet although Norton, Windows, System Mechanic, etc.,can all download updates
I CAN connect to internet just fine using my wifi BUT I CAN NO LONGER connect to 198.192.1.1!!! Any idea how to solve this problem? I'm using a Dell Insprion 1545 and Win7 32-bit. I never had this issue before, jut popped up when I tried using ICS on a different laptop, an IBM thinkpad T42 also using Win7 and connected to the same network via wifi. Again I can connect to the internet just fine on all my laptops, but 192.168.1.1 (for my netgear router) returns "unable to connect" page!!! have verified (via ipconfig) that my gateway ip is 192.168.1.1. I have valid IPs on all the laptops, but cannot connect to router setup page.
I did a very stupid thing and now need assistance. I have redirect malware or something on my machine.A search on the topic, talked about using ComboFix as part of a solution. I downloaded it, installed it and it started running immediately, before I could do anything else.I know that was not wise. Now trying to start anything results in "Illegal operation on a registry key that has been marked for deletion." System is Windows 7 Professional.
My computer has been lagging for about two weeks now. Figured I had a problem so I scanned it with a bunch of AV software (all in safe mode) to include: MSE, Malwarebytes, ClamAV, Hitman Pro, Bitdefender, and Spybot. ClamAV found two trojans and removed them, and I thought all was well with the world. I was wrong. Windows has been crashing and basic programs such as Outlook and Chrome have been sucking up major memory and freezing my system. So I downloaded it and ran the whole process. Like I said I was desperate. It wasn't until after it was finished, when I read the logfile and the quarantined-items file, that I realized that I was in over my head. I did some more research and found that I in no way should have been messing around with such a program, especially with my lack of IT background.
I ran combofix in my laptop (OS Win 7). After that I am getting error whenever trying to open files. "Illegal Operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion.
run ComboFix to get rid of the spyware, I got rid of it but in the process ComboFix deleted some of my files and placed them in Qoobox. How can I get those files back? Its really important as I invested lots of time on working with these files, they are .xml type ones. Also for finding them I used Pandora Recovery, I was able to recover these files with it but they were all 0KB. I have also not found any of this files in C:\QooBox\QuarantinePandora recovery shows that the files are located at C:\Qoobox\Test, but there is nothing there. [URL]
ComboFix was recommended to me in the past, so I disabled avast! and I ran ComboFix as an administrator. Once it was finished, my laptop rebooted and I was presented with the "Preparing Log Report" screen, so I eventually closed ComboFix. Nothing would run until I rebooted and now everything seems to have gone back to the way it was (sluggish performance included.)After some quick research, I came to realize that running ComboFix without assistance is a bad idea. I'd like to make sure I haven't done any damage to my system and, if possible, improve its performance.
My specs are as follows: Asus G50VT (BestBuy edition) Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Intel Core2 Duo P7450 (2.13GHz, dual core) 4GB RAM nVidia GeForce 9800M GS 512MB
Aftermarket Broadcom WiFi adapter (I needed this to run Mac OS X alongside Windows and Ubuntu, but only Windows is installed now.) Also, due to reheating, I recently removed the heatsinks from the CPU & CPU, cleaned out dust and applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal grease.
After I ran ComboFix, all my programs now receive an error message: Illegal opeertaion attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion. It doesn't matter what program I try to execute, I receive the same error message. I am also unable to start internet explorer on that computer. Is there some way to restore my computer to where it was before I ran combofix? I also can't get do a DOS prompt. I am running windows 7 64-bit.
I have a serious problem on a work laptop. I have some sort of malware.I believe I got it from downloading pdf files but I'm not sure. The symptoms are I am getting a lot of disk type errors. Also, my desktopicons are mostly gone. Also there were a bunch of windows popping up.My Desktop walpaper is now black rather than the default. Now, after running ComboFix, everything I try to run says Illegal Operationattempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion
Vds.exe is missing completely from service.mcs. I made the terrible mistake of actually deleting this service. Now several functions do not work on my computer. I have ran combofix in hopes that it will repair/replace missing files. I did keep the log file if anyone is interested in helping solve the dilemma.Mod Edit: Removed ComboFix log attachment, not germane to missing Windows services and CF is a malware tool which is not used in this particular forum while no information has been provided to indicate malware.
I have a Dell Laptop and use a MiFi internet connection. For some reason I can't connect to the internet since last night. I see that it says my IPV4 and IPV6 connections have "no Internet and Network access".
When I open IE all I get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page." I know it is connecting to the internet because it downloaded the updates. I downloaded AVG, Adaware SE and Spybot Search and Destroy on another computer. I put these files on a cd. I tried to install AVG and Spybot but they wouldn't install because they couldn't connect to the internet to get the necessary files to install. I've had this problem on friends computer some time ago but can't remember exactly what I did to fix it
new windows 7 laptop connected to internet via our home network initially, now will not connect to internet. It says it is connected to our network, but says no internet access.
I have a HP 620. And I cannot connect to the internet. The Wireless button on my HP is yellow, (I know regularly it's supposed to be white, but it's not.) When I click on the Wireless icon, it show's an ethernet cable and a computer with an X on it. It says " Not connected, No connections are available".
I am fixing my mom's cousin's laptop Dell Inspiron 1750, which is unable to access the internet. This system runs Windows 7 and can't connect to any router wirelessly. The ethernet port on the laptop also has some bent pins in it, so it can't connect through wire either. The first thing I did when I looked at this computer was connect it to my wireless router and I got the limited connectivity symbol in the taskbar. So I tried to ping and did ipconfig /release and /renew in cmd and that didn't work. I also did a /flushdns and that didn't work. So I went into the internet options and checked if the DNS setting were set to acquire automatically and they are. I have also uninstalled the dell wireless utility as I find it bloatware and unnecessary. I uninstalled the WLAN driver and reinstalled it and that didn't do anything. I then went into safe mode with networking and discovered that I was able to connect wirelessly there. So i figured it could have been the antiviruses (McAfee) firewall or malware of some kind. I downloaded malwarebytes and scanned and found nothing so I uninstalled malwarebytes and so I figured it was McAfee.
my PC is randomly having trouble connecting to the internet. It is showing a yellow triangle over my web activity icon. I am getting an error that says "Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings." I'm posting on a laptop that is using the same internet connection.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1. I'm on an Asus G51Jx laptop.I'm currently at my grandparents house, and naturally they have no idea what their wireless password is. In order to avoid changing it (and possible having some awkward confrontations with my uncle) I'm trying to connect to their internet using WPS (on a 2wire router, if that's any help). Now, I was able to use my blackberry to connect with WPS, but I haven't had the same success with my laptop. According to the Windows help site, I should be getting a window that looks like this, but all I'm getting is this window.
My laptop used to connect to the internet thru my wireless router,I've reset the wireless router, restored my computer to the last time it connected to the internet.I now get the message after troubleshooting that I do not have a default gateway.what should I do next?
The last few days I've been having trouble accessing a website on my ISP so I downloaded a program called MaskSurf to get around the problem. It reduced my connection speed a bit but nothing serious. Today when I went to boot up my computer, I can't access the internet at all.
I very recently got rid of a trojan with the guidance of others. To be sure it was gone, they recommended I use combofix. After running the program, I am now unable to connect to the internet. I've run the network adapter troubleshooter which tells me "There might be a problem with the driver for the network bridge adapter."
I just bought a new PC and a Linksys USB network adapter. The adapter manages to connect to the router, however I do not have internet access. This is weird because all the other computers in my house are able to connect to the internet no problem. This is the second adapter I bought that has this problem they worked on another computer so that isn't the problem. What's weird is that when I tethered internet from my phone, I was able to connect my PC to my phone. I have all the drivers up to date.
I turn my PC off and go to work. I come home and turn it on, click on Google Chrome and... Can't connect. My PS3 and my moms laptop can connect and when I click on the icon for the internet connection it doesn't show any problemsI ran an anti virus scan, then crap cleaner and then a system restore and it still doesn't connect.I tried connecting and disconnecting it from the modem and still nada. I have no idea what is wrong and hope it is a simple fix,Ok now I just turned the modem off and back on and now the internet icon has the yellow ! sign I run detect a problem and it tells me it is configured just fine but it still doesn't work.Restarted PC, and the yellow ! is gone but it still won't connect.
I am not sure what is going on but I cannot connect to the Internet and Windows Network Diagnostics says that the DNS sever is not responding. I have it set to obtain an IP address and a DNS server automatically... Still doesn't work.
If you want me to tell you what ipconfig/all says please tell me exactly what you are looking for because I actually have no way of getting a file from my computer onto my phone right now. However the default gateway, dhcp, and DNS are all 192.168.2.1 while the ipv4 is 192.168.2.2 <preferred>.
Also, this happened when I had an iPad in transferring music, and I unplugged my Internet wireless adapter and plugged it into a different USB port, or at least I think that is when it happened. At any rate I got a message saying something about an IP address conflict which I did not pay much attention to.
One other detail is that it is not just my computer that can't connect. My iPhone and my friends iPad that I had plugged in so I could transfer music from my iTunes to his iPad cannot connect either..
son had to format dell with winxp. I had an older version xp disc I let him use to format his computer. after format he can not connect to Internet. I have a dell optpex running. dell has a folder that shows the drivers, In that folder Is a driver called broadcomm. can I copy that file & Install on his computer If needed?
My router has been acting strange and after I reset it I've been unable to go online.I tried pinging a few areas to determine the source of the problem but I'm still confused. Here's my "ipconfig /all" record which also shows the addresses I successfully and unsuccessfully pinged.-Running Windows 7 starter 32bit.-It's probably not the network drivers as I've been able to connect to other routers perfectly fine.
so. i connect my computer to a Wi-Fi connection to connect to the internet through a neighbor's wireless router. also I connect my computer to a LAN network to my wireless router to stream files to my playstation 3 and xbox 360. it seems so far that i have to have the lan line unplugged for my computer to be connected to the internet even though when my lan line is connected the network center still says i am connected to the internet.so while i am connected to wifi if i plug my lan line in i will become disconnected from the internet even though i am connected still..
