View 8 RepliesI am wanting to set up a 32gb usb drive for installing windows onto laptops and netbooks. What I would like is a bootable usb drive that lets me select which version of windows (XP, Vista, Win 7, 32 and 64 bit versions). I have iso's of all of these but I am not sure how to go about getting them on the drive and be bootable.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just clean installed my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and after installing all my apps and drivers I'm finding a stupid and irritating problem.every time I download a .torrent file and tell it to open with (uTorrent) default app it will open another instance of the app and then I have to close the older one because it doesn't register that it has a new torrent only in the new instance does it. this also goes for anything I download with IDM Internet Download Manager whenever the completed download dialog appears another instance of IDM open in the tray and the older instance doesn't register that it has downloaded the file.also I have always used Enqueue in Winamp and even with the settings like that if I enqueue or open a music file it opens another instance of winamp instead of just opening in the current instance. the allow multiple instances is not ticked.I'm not sure if there are other programs doing this but this is really troubling me as I have just finished a clean install and am happy with my settings.

I ran chkdsk and after some time it finished repairing the errors. However, now my system gave me 4 warnings saying that none of my security features were working. I use AVG Internet Security 2012. When I click on the AVG Icons or try and repair by clicking on the warnings, nothing happens.I have read that I should reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate to solve the problem. Sadly I did not partition my hard drive went I built the PC, and of course I do not want to lose any programs, files, etc. So what are my best options?
1. Back up my hard drive and bring everything back over once Windows in reinstalled?
2. Buy an SSD drive for one of my extra bays and install Windows 7 Ult there? Is this even an option since I already have Windows 7 Ult on my PC?
3. Is it possible to partition the drive and move Windows to this section? Then reinstall Windows without affecting other programs and files?

Aside from the surge itself, what other negative effects could arise from experiencing an outage while multiple programs are open and running? For example, if I lost power while regedit was open, could it change or possibly cause damage the registry itself? The machine in question is currently running Win 7 SP1 64-bit.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOk, so i have a few questions. instead of making thread for each. i am posting them hear.
1. like the title says, i want to know how to create one shortcut to launch multiple programs( Two or three programs at once)?
2. My second question is, is there a way that i pin a folder on taskbar and when click on that icon.it expand( only icons and their name in small space) like a fan( pop in and out). just like the Rocketdoc.?
3. And at last. how can i prevent a program from appearing in taskbar. like i have installed a skin for WMP and i like it to stay on the desktop.
I have recurring "not responding" programs in Win 7. The affected programs are MS Office, Cad programs, Photoshop, etc. I tested my ram and all is good. Processor and temps are all excellent. Hard drive has no bad sectors. All drivers have been updated. Problem usually (but not always) goes away after reboot. Velocity Micro running Win 7 64, 8 GB ram, Intel core i7 870, nvidia gx 275.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn Windows 7 I have no problem selecting multiple files in a normal folder for example. The problem is when using a program (such as Freestar AMR MP3 Converter) I cannot select multiple files at once. This can make using the program extremely tedious and time-consuming if there are large numbers of files to convert. It is not just this one program that does it, because other programs also fail to allow me to select multiple files. Again, I must state that this only seems to happen when using certain programs and not generally in Windows 7. Also, a small unrelated question: how do I get out of 'Libraries' view in My Documents and basically disable the Libraries view permanently, and just have it normal like in all earlier versions of Windows?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'll start out with my PC's specs: Intel i3 processor, 4GB memory, 500GB HDD, onboard sound and video.Recently, I have been receiving the "Not responding" error in multiple programs, in addition to a lot of hangs throughout the system. For example, if I use a web browser for an hour, it probably happens 4-5 times. This happens in both IE9 and Chrome, and it appears to be random. It doesn't matter if I have 10 programs and 5 tabs open or just the browser with 1 tab. Also, sometimes it will hang if I'm simply dragging icons on the desktop around with no programs open.
Some more potentially helpful information is that I can open every single program I have pinned to my taskbar at the same time (I have 10) and they will all open with awesome speed, no hangs, no problems at all.I at first thought it was registry issues, so I downloaded CCleaner and ran both the system cleaner and the registry cleaner, and it has helped none. I desperately need this issue fixed. I use my laptop for everything, including taking notes for my college classes, and the hanging hinders this a lot
I am trying to get my wife's new computer up and running without any BSOD or program failures. Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have three medical clinics and the front desk staff float from clinic to clinic depending on their schedule. I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems. The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening. My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
I have been getting a fairly random blue screens and I cannot pin point it myself. I know a bit about diagnosing and repairing issues but this one is just a pain in my butt. I am uploading the dump files and I hope someone can give me a hand I am running a sfc scan right now to test for any problems too. Also got this off the TSG SysInfo Program.

I have attached a second monitor to my laptop which runs Windows 7, however, I need to set different resolutions for different monitors, because the display does not fit to fill the screen on both monitors.
It is also noted that the display is replicated, and I would like to have the effect of having different desktops e.g. being able to use different applications such as debugging code on one monitor on an IDE such as Visual Studio, and, viewing the browser on the other monitor.
Currently it does not seem possible since the behavior seems to be that the same resolution is replicated on both monitors.
I use WhoCrashed to analyze these errors but I dont know how to solve. Maybe my hardware cause these.

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get two monitors, a small 1024x768 LCD, and a 46" 1920x1080 TV, to display the same wallpaper at different resolutions. My graphics card is older, a Nvidia Quadro FX 1700, but it is perfectly capable of driving both displays at the same time. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to get it working if it's possible.

No need for an ISO
