Aug 10, 2012I have Windows, Adobe CS6 and a few other things installed on my SSD, which is C. But it only has 120GB so I can't install all my software on it so I want the rest of my software to be installed on my 2TB drive, which is F. I followed various tutorials on how to edit the registry. I am running Windows 7 Home (64-bit) so I edited the 64-bit version of regedit. That didn't work. It was still installing programs into my C drive. So I edited both regular regedit and 64-bit regedit and now certain programs don't work, such as Windows Media Player.Is there a way to do this correctly? I was thinking of switching drive letters in BIOS, but one, I don't know how to do that, two, it would probably create a bigger mess. I know Windows 7 "wants" to be on the C drive.[CODE]

Jan 13, 2013So in the last month i noticed some of my folders i keep on the desktop change form the newer slicker icon of a folder back to the typical windows yellow folder. Then more and more until all of my folders where like that.Then all of sudden some sounds started to go from a normal contemporary notification sound to a dull sound from XP or older.Then about a week ago the "bar" if you will changed from a typical Win7 style back to a XP one where its dull. And its like that everywhere.
I have tried icon programs at first to fix the folder issue and unless i wanna do it one buy one its sucks and i just want them back to a normal win7 folder nothing fancy.I have tried changing themes via the ones pre installed and it might change my desktop wallpaper it never changes the "bars"Also tried other non microsoft theme programs with the same results.
ALSO i scanned my pc with Malwarebyes, CCleaner, WinASO, AVG and cleaned all up and so on rebooted all the same.Thought i may have installed too many apps or at least big apps (photo/video editing) and i uninstalled a few with no difference.So then i decided to check out my ram. So i make a bootable disc of a memory scanner. Ended up getting into the millions of errors with the ram i had and i stopped it before it was done with the intentions on getting ram and not waiting until scan was done to tell me i had 500 trillion errors lol.
Bought new ram installed it started her up and BAM .... same thing.I have not scanned this ram as my wife uses it while im at work and when im home i do alota 2nd job stuff on it so i dont like having it offline long.
Windows 7 Installed - Cannot Delete Files Or Change Ownership
Oct 24, 2012I just installed Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit on two machines, and then Firefox 16.0.1 on each. Trying to replace the password files in my new profile, I found that many of these folders and files (in UsermeAppDataRoamingMozilla) cannot be deleted, nor can their ownership be changed. They belong to me already, and I'm an administrator with Full Control.
I've tried 72 tricks, including Emco UnLockIt 3.0.3, Unlocker 1.9.1, Take Ownership registry keys, takeown (from the command line), etc. Nothing works. I can't move them, delete them or anything. Nor can Mozbackup create a backup profile (it can't write the backup). Why does Firefox create these weird locked files and folders? Why doesn't Windows 7 allow me to take control of them?

Sep 19, 2012Every now and then my WiFi stops working, and if I go to dev mgr, the General tab tells me that "No drivers are installed for this device" for device status. On the other tabs, however, I have all the details on the installed driver, and if I ask Windows to update the driver, it tells me that the best driver is already installed. The problem is solved by rebooting, but I find that annoying. I'd like to figure out WHY it does that. I've saved earlier versions of that particular driver from over the last three years, and the problem occurs with all of the drivers. This is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. The driver is an Intel driver; the one installed at this moment (it just happened again, and I have not rebooted, since I had a powerline enet outlet handy), and the version of the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN is 14.3.1. I have other versions of that driver saved, from 13.2.1.5 to 15.1.1_Ds64. I had reverted to the 14.3.1 because the more recent versions seemed to be worse about the driver disabling itself or whatever it is doing.Coincidentally with this, the event viewer shows that mmc.exe was terminated because it was hanging. I had just run sfc yesterday, and there are no corrupt files that Windows cannot fix, and there weren't even any corrupt files that it DID fix.

I just built me a new computer. I installed Win7 Ultimate. Everything is running pretty good. I went to look at the stats for my system and noticed the RAM. Windows sees the 8 gig that is in stalled but Im unsure why its only using 3 gigs.
