I only get this bsod when I try to run a game that uses the unreal engine. I have done clean install of all video drivers using driver sweeper and the latest drivers from nvidia.com. Ignore audio drivers, i am using second pre xp sound card for studio purposes.

I have an issue with my EVGA GTX 280 SC, regardless of the driver installed I get a BSOD with nvlddmkm.sys error and a memory dump. It works just fine with the 6600GT I used as an alternative. I just wanted to know if anyone else is getting this error.

After the splash screen i get the bsod,the computer restart and then windows loads Normaly.
when i checked the minidump with "who crashed" it says the problem is with nvlddmkm.sys.
when i uninstall the driver and clean the reg. i dont have bsod.

I have two computers (mine and my wife's) which are, for the most part identical.. bought the parts all at the same time, just ordered them x2. The only thing I have changed since building them is my PSU.
From within Vista I popped the disk in and began the install process. It appeared to download some updates prior to installing. It restarted and did its thing.
It "seemed" to install fine.. I got to the desktop and started copying various drivers and programs to the desktop to install. As it was doing that, my wife jumped on and changed the wallpaper.. (I watched and that's all she did) I asked her to double click on the newest video card drivers to install them. They appeared to install fine.
A few seconds later the screen began to flicker on and off. Then it locked up and have the BSOD with the nvlddmkm.sys.
It would then restart and before actually loading windows, it would BSOD again with the same file name. Now it's in a loop.
I've tried reinstalling about 3 times. All three times I've booted from the DVD, repartitioned and formatted.
Every time, it will restart at the Finishing Installation step then BSOD with the same file name. I can no longer get it to boot to the desktop.
I'm using the same DVD I used on my PC. Zero scratches on the disk. I've also used an older version of Windows 7 via DVD and that version seems to have problems too. No BSOD but after installing it will restart and post a black screen with a blinking underscore indefinitely.
How is it possible that with identical systems one has problems and one doesn't? Any thoughts on how to correct this?
I've had multiple BSOD issues over the period of last few months, usually it was nvlddmkm.sys which I thought I solved with reinstalling nVidia drivers -> disabling some nVidia services routine. After that the errors came back, though much less frequent.
I've ran into another bunch of BSOD's recently though, when I started playing star wars the old republic mmo. (dxgmms1.sys, sys32k.sys)
My Windows 7 is:

- I've had WinXP SP3 x86 before, but I've performed a complete system wipe before installing Windows 7
- It's a full retail version
- Hardware age is about 3.5 years
- Windows 7 was installed in March 2011
today I was playing minecraft, and the screen just froze, I tried alt+tab, ctrl+alt+del, esc, and all the other keys everyone presses when in panic. But then I realized that nothing would happen and I shut the pc down (I unpluged the energy source).I turned on the pc again, and entered the game again, but the screen blacked out, and I shut it down again. Thinking it had something to do with some bug in my minecraft world, I deleted it and started another one, but again the screen froze and I was forced to shut it down again.At first I thought it was overheat, so I just waited some minutes before turning it on again. When I turned it on, I opened the internet browser (google chrome) and started searching for video cards (at that time I thought that was the problem) but the screen went black again, and this time the computer didn't turn on. On startup, normally the colors are white on black, but it was showing some magenta spots. and after a Blue Screen the pc rebooted and started everything again, asking if I wanted to start windows normally (like it does when you unplug the power source --'), showing BSOD and rebooting. the blue screen showed this:

I am getting BSOD on lenovo T510 ( i7 M 620 Processor, 8 gb Ram).the mesaage says nvlddmkm.sys error on BSOD.The Laptop works fine .I am trying to enable Hyper v on the Operating system.In order to use it i have to enable virtualization and memory protection in Bios.If i enable both virtualization and memory protection i get Bsod. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell this time it isn't a hardware problem. Like I said, I've been starting to get random, yes completely random, nvidia driver crashes. My screen will flash a few times and eventually just BSOD. Basically I've tried reinstalling drivers and rolling back drivers but the problem persists. I installed vista on a separate partition thinking there was some kind of weird conflict and whadya know, Vista, of all things!!, works perfectly.
That's how I know it's software. So my question to you guys is, is there anyway for me to fix this without reinstalling 7? I have a lot of data on there and it would be a major hassle for me.
Secondly, is there any way to reinstall 7 but to keep all of my settings and files? Like literally just replacing the OS files.
If there isn't I guess I just have to face the music and copy everything to the other partition and then copy it back ..
Just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (from Vista Home 64bit) and installed all drivers for every little component but my graphics card is giving me serious problemsAt startup, it will about 60% of the time give me BSOD, and I apologize for no dump info but I can't find how to get it. The error code is a 0x00000116 and everything is telling me I need a new driver but I have the latest version and there are very few Nvidia drivers to choose from

Initially I got quite a way through the installation then it came up with an error saying the computer closed unexpectedly and had to restart to continue installation. I had got my monitor connected to the nvidia gt 9500 via divX.
Said Ok, pc shut down, then restarted with exactly the same message. Read up on the Net and said that it could be the nvidia card, so got to device manager and removed drivers so it had to use standard vga drivers and switched to the vga connection on the graphics card (I dont' have onboard graphics on my motherboard).
Well, now it doesn't have the old problem it has a new one. I am booting straight from the dvd drive and it lets me get to the Windows install page, I select custom install and it gets to anything between 2 and 72% of expanding the files (second stage on list) and then it blue screens with various errors. the last one being this:

I installed 285.62 P08 Nvidia Driver from the Dell webpage two days ago and it was fine and everything was good after the restart from the installation. After finishing up my session, I noticed that there is a window update so I shut down and left the computer to do the updating on it's own. Today, I switched on my computer to look at my timetable for today and after that put it to sleep mode.
After "waking" it up, I was met with a BSOD after like 5 minutes of use. I then decided to system restore to before i did the updates. It still BSOD albeit it took a longer time before that happened. Right now im using Safe mode + Networking to type this message out. (The computer does not seem to BSOD in safe mode so far). I did the steps listed but I could not get the perfmon step working. "An error occurred while attempting to generate the report".

Since the past 6 months i have been using my PC using my onboard graphics which is HD4200 (must be ATI), but prior to that i used to have my GTX 460 installed in this PC but it was on a 32 bit windows 7. On 6th Sept 2012 i re fitted my GTX 460 with the latest drivers of that day ( first i uninstalled the ATI drivers from device manager and then used driver sweeper in safe mode) but soon after installing the GTX in 5 minutes got a BSOD but all i could see was a percentage counter like 0-5-10-15... 100 and a reboot. All this happened in 5 seconds max i guess. I reformatted the PC and this time installed the previous WHQL drivers from nvidia namely 295.xx something but they didnt work either.All i had left to do was to remove the GPU and reinstall the onboard drivers and without my gpu pc worked great.

It crashes and WhoCrashed or Bluescreen view always points to ntoskrnl.exe or ntkrnlmp.exe or hal.dll it's always two of those 3. Other than games it runs fine. I did all the memory tests for 3 days and tried the best I could re-seat stuff. It's an alienware so they have it all secured in a way that makes it difficult to get around, and the case weighs around 105 lbs or something crazy.

I only get BSODs when exiting any game with decent graphics after playing for about an hour. If i play these games in windowed mode i dont seem to have that problem..When playing Battlefield 3 yesterday the game seemed to froze-up every 5mins and would only unfreeze if i alt tabbed and hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and then open the task manager (had the same problem in other FPS).My configuration, i have the latest drivers installed and i tried all kinds of older drivers for my VGA:

i'm getting Blue Screens when playing The Sims 3 and World of Warcraft, i have installed Windows 7 twice now and it still keeps going on, but i can play Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 without any problems.

I have been having BSOD for a while now and need some help resolving them. [code] I have tried updating drivers and and even re-formated windows and reinstalled everything, but still getting the blue screens.It seems to me that the problem started when i installed the geforce nvidia 295.73 drivers, but im not sure this was the original problem. I have tried reinstalling nvidia 265.58 through the newest 296.10. they all seem to give BSOD. Thought it seems more frequent with the newer drivers. Today i have had 4 BSOD while playing Skyrim.I am not sure why but a dump file is not always created only about 50% of the time. I am posting the ones that i have. This has generally started happening over the last two months, after I installed a new graphics card. Though previously, I didn't really play PC games, so It's hard to say if that's even the reason. It usually only happens once every few days, and only at some games at that. However, I started playing Tribes yesterday, and every time I play it, I get a blue screen within 10 minutes of play without fail. I've tried to see if there are any correlations between the BSODs and what I'm doing, but there doesn't seem to be. The only unusual thing is how often it happens when playing Tribes, a game that isn't nearly as processor, memory or graphically extensive compared to other games I've played without fault.The error, to my knowledge, has always been the same. With the blue screen stating some Uncorrectable Hardware Error. This is what I believe to be the error code in the Event Viewer.
