Realtek AC'97 Audio For VIA (R) Audio Controller Drivers Issue
I just installed Windows 7 and it seems awesome! The biggest problem so far is with audio drivers. I have MSI KT6V LSR motherboard (using VIA KT600 north bridge and VIA VT8237 South Bridge). I got the sound to work by installing drivers, but after I reboot the computer, sound didn't work anymore.

The volume icon in notification area shows a red cross, and when I click it, Windows starts a windows "Detecting problems". After that, it says that reinstalling the driver might help.

Via HD Audio Deck Incompatible Audio Driver
I am having trouble with my audio drivers (Via HD Audio Deck), I have tried installing them with compatability mode: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) The driver installs but most of the features don't work and exits the program.

I am currently using Asus p5kpl-cm mainboard (socket 775), and running 2 operating systems: Windows Vista 32-bit & recently installed Windows 7 RC 64-bit The exact same audio drivers work for vista 32-bit.

Video / Audio And Hdmi Card
I have a nvidia gt 9600 video card, and want to dual monitor to my large screen tv to use media center to watch movies, go online, etc. The card has 2 dvi outs, one goes to my primary monitor, the other I have a dvi>hdmi cable>tv set up.

I know I do not get sound out of this video card, but can someone show me the proper card that I can get both audio and video out with using my hdmi cable to do this? The geeks at Best Buy seemed baffled when I asked them about a video card, and using just the hdmi cable to do what I wanted.....I do not want to run multiple cables, etc...

Creative Audio EXtreme Sound Card
I've installed WinXP on the C: partition and Win7 on my D: (dual-boot). I have a Creative AudioXtreme Soundcard. That card is recognized by XP, but not by 7! (In the past I also used Vista, the card worked well with that OS). So I don't think it's a hardware-issue, because there are no problems with the card when I use XP.  Can onyone help?

M-Audio Fasttrack USB Sound Card Problem
Windows 7 works perfect on my computer, better than i think it could work. But the problem was on my sound card. It works fine but sometimes makes strange noises like interference (like "shhhhhhh").

I download the last drivers from m-audio web page  and continued with this noise, so I install the soundcard in other computer (Widows Vista) and it worked perfectly. I supose that my computer had a problem. I proceed to install Windows XP again and my sound card worked perfectly. Someone know what is the problem? What can I do?

Creative XTREME Audio Card - No Rear Sound
I just purchased and install a Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card and downloaded from Creative the Win 7 drivers. Everything started to go fairly well. I configured for a Quadraphonic Speakers configuration. Tested sound, using Manage Audio Device, at all four speakers and I could hear the sound. However, when I used the Window Medial Player or any other player, no rear speakers sound can be heard.

Dell Studio 1535 Audio Card Issues
I have Windows 7 32-Bit installed onto a Dell Studio 1535 laptop, with an Intel hi-def sound card. The OS recognized the card on boot, but won't let me install the Intel IDT drivers and doesn't recognize the mic port.

The sound card is such that the rear output changes to a microphone input when you tell it to through the IDT drivers, and I'm guessing the default drivers don't know how to handle that functionality. When I try to run the Intel drivers from a disc it gives me a "device is not found" error.

Hercules DJ Console MK2 - USB Audio Card Not Working
I am facing a problem with my external USB audio card: Hercules DJ console MK2.

I was using it with WinXP without problems, but 64bit 7 cannot install the driver.

I found a 2008 (designed for vista 32/64bit) version of the driver on the Guillemot-Hercules website but it doesn't work (on my system...).  It is an executable file (.exe), no way of finding .inf files.

Does anyone have the same trouble?

Is there any workaround to extract driver files from the executable?

Sound Card, Media Player, And Audio Recording Driver Issues
I have the following: a sound blaster x-fi and EMU 0404 usb sound cards. I also use a Line 6 Toneport DI-G (USB sound input), and all with Cubase Studio 4 (32-bit) and Sonar Studio 8 (64-bit) software on Win7 (64-bit). The issue is drivers. I can use the EMU asio driver through the 0404 to minimize recording latency.

In XP, I could also use media player with no conflicts. With win7, I cannot play media player when using this driver. I have configured asio4all v2 to get the emu as input and list the SB as output, with mixed results and problems with media player.

OK, so the question - I need to use the emu and/or the toneport for inputs (like to have both available when I open my DAW - esp. Sonar) and I can use the EMU for output and dispense with the SB, but what do I do for drivers that will also let me access playback of audio files through media player?

PCMCIA Audio Card Echo Indigo Doesn't Work
Echo is an amazing little pcmcia audio card with professional features like ASIO, WAVERT etc support. It officialy has only vista drivers (and vista wavert drivers).

When I install the vista drivers on windows 7 USB ports stop working immediately after the system installs the drivers (or registers them!?) and ALSO wireless AND wired adapters of the laptop also stops working immediately and the only way to turn the computer off is by hard-resetting after that point..

My system is : Samsung Q45, T7500, 2.2ghz core2duo, 2gb ram, broadcom ethernet, intel wireless adapter.

Any clues?

Switching From HDMI Audio Output Back To Built Audio Output
Win7 RC (64 bit version) Recently I had to plug in just a monitor and speakers to my system (and unplug the HDMI TV input).  Per the control panel, it correctly states that there is no HDMI device and standard line out is the active device.  (Little bar graph goes up and down as audio supposedly is being outputed).  (If I boot XP the audio works just fine.)

My question is can anyone provide a pointer to where to look to see where the audio stream is going (I think it is still heading towards the HDMI port).

Hardware - I7, MSI X58 MB, ATI 4350 graphics card, NO audio card (just built audio).

Cannot Find Creative Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio Sound Card
My fairly new PC: Core2Quad Q6700 on ASUS P5K (Intel P35) with RealTek HD Audio chip, plus Creative Soundblaster Xtreme Audio internal sound card.

I've installed Windows 7RC on a new partition on my HD alongside Vista Ultimate. I've experienced no installation problem, but Win7RC does not recognize my SB sound card at all! So, I can't even update the driver!

It recognized the Realtek chip and my external USB mic, but not the sound card that had been installed for audio quality!!

To come to think of it, I've had the problem with Vista, with my Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro 10.1 not recognizing the "existence of any sound system" in an administrator account I used to install the software. However, the software recognizes all my audio systems in my other user account (admin) and the software runs smoothly!!

Any connection? What's the problem here? Anyone have any idea?

Edit: I also found that the stereo mix feature of the Realtek HD audio isn't recognized either. (Recognized in Vista and my old XP)

Finding Audio Card Type & Driver
I'm having trouble getting Bass out of my subwoofer and need some help figuring out this problem. I have played with the WOW effects and equalizer in Windows Media Player and the subwoofer does work there, but it's very weak and doesn't kick in at all with other programs or online.

I don't know too much about audio, but I do know I'm having troubles since updating to Windows 7. I recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium. My Audio setup is a set of Altec Lansing speakers and a Subwoofer. The system as a whole is connected to my machine at the Green audio jack. All wires are plugged in firmly and tightly.

This leads me to believe that I need to look into a Driver Update. Unfortunately, I don't know where do begin finding my Audio card type or driver. If anyone knows how to find this or figure out which Driver update might be useful for me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Computer To TV Audio
I want to connect my Windows 7 desktop with my TV.

The audio out ports on my computer are a mini plug (green) and what appears to be a single RCA type plug (labeled "digital audio out"(orange.))

The audio in port on the TV is what appears to be a single RCA type plug (green.)

What cable solution do I employ?

I'm under the impression that a stereo mini plug is an analog solution, but I'll be surprised to even find one that ends in a lone green RCA type plug.

VIA Audio, 1 Port
It's been a while since I've gotten my sound "working," but my current problem is that only one of my audio jacks work, one on the back. I know it's not the hardware because it used to work on vista. It hasn't been that much of a pain because i didn't have to change often between audio output devices, so i just dealt with it- getting back behind the computer and switching out cords. Now i'm doing it a little more frequently, so I can still just deal with it, but if anyone here does know something that may help, it would be very nice of you to let me know.

No Audio Via HDMI To TV
I installed Windows 7 yesterday and at first I had no audio to my TV via the HDMI cable. I adjusted the settings via the sound icon on the taskbar, playback tab, changing whether the speakers or the Digital Output Device (HDMI), Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec was the default. Eventually I got it to work.

Today, however it has stopped working again and no matter what changes I make, nothing works. When I right click on the playback device Digital Output Device (HDMI) and choose TEST, I get the message: Failed to play test tone. All sound comes through the laptop speakers.

I went to device manager and checked the driver for the codec and it was up to date.

When I was using Vista, to get the audio all I had to do was plug in the HDMI cable and the sound automatically went through the TV.

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?
