View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed the RC on a Dell Latittude D600 Laptop. Installation went smooth with the exception of driver hunts. The only upgrade I did was add a 1GB RAM (laptop has 2GB max).
I went to logon (out of hibernation mode) and laptop didn't boot. No BIOS, no HDD activity, just the green led power light was on. Thought I may have experienced a major hardware/motherboard malfunction. so i completely shut the laptop down and put it aside for a day or 2. Out of curiosity I booted it up today and it boot up totally.
Got the Bios screen, HDD activity all seemed ok. I did a complete shutdown and rebooted and BAM. didn't boot again!! Decided to take the battery out and rebooted. Amazingly, the laptop booted normally! Put the battery back in and wont boot normally.
This is my 2nd replacement battery bought directly from Dell in 1 yr. So, I am thinking I have a motherboard/power issue. BIOS sees the battery, but sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesn't.
So any ideas on how I can check any of the motherboard connections? laptop way past warranty lol. BIOS is updated to newest (A15) and memtest was ok.
I have a Dell D600 Lattitude laptop that was running Vista Home Prem.I usually do clean installs but I thought I would give the upgrade option from Vista to 7 a try. Anyways, the upgrade went really smooth. I realize that ATI doesnt support the 9000 series anymore. I was wondering since windows had a driver for the 9000 series for Vista, would it be possible to use that one? The only prob I am having is I cant seem to find the driver anywhere. (googled it etc...) Windows update catalog only lists XP/2000 drivers I dont think I could install the 9000 series driver in XP mode because of WDDM.
Laptop Specs:
Intel 1.6 GHZ
ATI Mobility 9000
2 GB RAM
Realtek onboard sound
Intel onboard wireless ( really surprised this works in 7!)
120 GB HDD
i need this drivers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 32-Bit installed onto a Dell Studio 1535 laptop, with an Intel hi-def sound card. The OS recognized the card on boot, but won't let me install the Intel IDT drivers and doesn't recognize the mic port.
The sound card is such that the rear output changes to a microphone input when you tell it to through the IDT drivers, and I'm guessing the default drivers don't know how to handle that functionality. When I try to run the Intel drivers from a disc it gives me a "device is not found" error.

View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently I had a virus that was apparently unfixable so I reformatted the hard drive by using the factory image restore option. This however made the computer unuseable as it would not even turn on. I got Dell to send me the Windows Disk and the Drivers & Utilities Disk. I reinstalled windows and the computer worked fine again....although looked a little odd in the desktop/internet. I installed my game and tried playing it but it wouldn't let me play. It says I don't have the graphical requirements...which is odd because I played the game before the computer had to be reformatted. Even when I click on solitaire I get an error message that says: "Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on."
When I go to device manager and look at display adapters, the only thing that comes up is Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I've tried downloading every driver from Dell and from the disc they gave me (they are the same files) I unzipped them to the location it wanted but it made no difference. Finally I sat in chat with dell support, whom I hate by the way, and he did all the same stuff I did before saying I needed to try reinstalling windows 7, but this time delete all the partitions, then reinstall the drivers. I did that...twice afterwards and nothing made a difference.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two computers. One a year old and one brand new. Both are running Windows 7 64 bit and both are running the exact same version of Windows Media Center. On my old computer I have my Windows Media Center TV configured for channel 3 and the cable attached to my internal TV Tuner card. Then, to access different channels I simply use the remote controller that came with my cable company set top box. Never any problems. Now, I am trying for three days to have Windows Media Center set up the TV stations on my new computer.
The device manager is finding the TV Tuner Card that I installed. All the drivers are up to date. I can use WinTV to find and play channels so I know there is signal coming from the cable...the same cable that feeds my old computer...I simply unhooked it and attached it to my new computer. So, it's driving me crazy that each time I try to scan for channels I wait for 10 minutes each time only to get a message at the end saying "no tv stations found" or something like that. What could I possible be doing wrong since everything is the same between the old and the new computer?
i need to update my sound card drivers.... i am on windows 7 and went to the biostar website to update my on board audio drivers and there was nothing available for windows 7.... only vista,xp, etc.

2) Inserts into PCI-slot makes computer auto-start.
3) Windows does not auto install the card, but the drives on the CD works perfectly and the sound is fine. No problems in device manage.
4) But when I shutdown, the computer restats. Happens every time. Have to shutdown manually on the button.
5) Tried a different PCI-slot, but problem persists.
6) Tried temporarily removing the card and windows shuts down as intended.
