My laptop has a local C drive with a capacity of 160Gb. It has a free space of 149Gb and is partitioned at 37.5Gb for Drive D. The Drive D (used for Backup) is full and I need to increase it's size. The operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate - 32 bit. Is this possible

View 2 Replies View RelatedI made a mistake when installing Windows 7 on a 150GB hard drive which previously had three partitions.I formatted all three and chose to install the OS to a 75 gb partition.
Everything installed ok but I am 75 GB down on hard disc space.
Is there any simple ways to amalgamate the other 75GB partition to give me back my original size of 150GB?
Installed Virtual PC with WindowsXPMode. Seems to have gone fine but, when I start an application there, it appears in a very small window - too small to really use the application. In WindowsXP if you press Alt-Enter the application goes fullscreen but this doesn't work , neither does dragging the sides or corner.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed Windows 7 as a VM in vmware player (recommended by an acquaintance) so I could then run Adobe Lightroom as a windowed application in OpenSuse, I rather stupidly (it now appears) created the VM with a 15GB drive. When working with more than a coupe of images at a time I get out of memory errors in the VM, presumably due to the lack of free space for temp files in Lightroom and swap file usage. Is there an easy way to increase the VM drive or would it be simpler to delete the VM and set it up again with a larger drive.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have got some problem on the mouse pointer, after start the windows, and run few minutes, the size of the pointer just changed bigger itself, i haven't do anything, just use my PC as normal (e.g. after restart just open firefox and get onto internet), but few minutes later it just become bigger, i have try to go to system to set the Scheme but it just stay the same. can anyone help?
p.s. i'm not sure about this, but seems this happened when i use firefox when i scroll up and down on it, it was fine yesterday, but today i had few changing on my PC, first is i have change my display card from 2600 pro to 5700, second is firefox updated to 3.5.5, i'm not sure whether those effect anything.
p.p.s. my mouse is logitech MX1000 on ps2 port, with installed logitech setpoint 4.80, here are some picture for reference, hope someone can help my with this issue, i just want it to be small.., thanks alot~
more information, after the mouse pointer size increased, when i hold the left click on the top bar of the open box to move it, the size of the pointer will back to normal (just when i hold it to move something), but when i release the mouse, the size of the pointer will change back to bigger....-____-""

I have a big problem, I was using NetDrive to map my FTP Server to my computer for some time now. I was using Windows Vista 32-Bit, I just installed Windows 7 64-Bit. Now to a surprise I found out that NetDrive doesn't support 64-Bit Operating Systems as of this time. I have been searching no-stop for about 2 hours and haven't found much.
I found some posts that recommended another FREE program to use that is like NetDrive but they still doesn't support 64-Bit. I don't want to buy a $50.00 program like WebDrive for example. I have also tried to use windows explorer to connect to the FTP Server and doesn't seem to work well (mostly not at all). I don't know why?
So at this point I am asking everyone if someone knows of a FREE program or method that I can use to connect my FTP Server to a local drive on my computer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had Windows 7 installed under Western Digital 400 Gigabyte Driveat first I got the BCD error message so I tried a repair with the rescued disk. When I use the repair tool the drive is recognized as Windows 7 followed by the letters zero. If I boot to another drive both drives are listed but I cannot open the damaged drive and under properties it shows 0 GB. I tried using the command prompt and the bootrec commands and they appear to complete but still the drive will not boot and is listed as having 0 GB. I can not understand how I could have lost all the files unless the repair utility in trying to fix the disc wiped it clean.

I recently got an Acer 1810TZ with win 7 installed. My desktop runs win 2000 and the OS is currently less than 2.5Gb and I consider that bloated as originally it was more like 1.4Gb. I like to image and can easily put that on a dvd even without compressing the file.
On my new Acer the OS is taking up between 12 - 14Gb depending if I have a restore configured. I have partitioned the HD into several partitions. I only keep the OS and absolutely min stuff on my C drive and I have one partition dedicated to the page file only, 3Gb, and have all my programs etc installed on another partition. The recycle bin has also been reduced to 256mb on the C drive
Is there a way to significantly reduce the OS (C drive) to say less than 4Gb ?
