View 2 RepliesI changed via the dialog the TEXT SIZE via the screen resolution in the control panel to CUSTOM SIZE.With one of the newer "Cinema" or Very Wide screen (1680 X 900) displays after I'd increased the text size to over 160 % I didn't get the possibility to SAVE any documents any more via the SAVE AS button. The SAVE dialog would appear but the SAVE button was missing. The effect was noticed in Office 2007 (all programs) Notepad etc etc.Seems to be a Windows fault as this should not be allowed to happen.on more traditional "Squarer" type monitors -- no problem.

View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently I used a software AVG PC Tuneup and it has never been a problem for me until a couple of days ago when I decided to install it on my DELL. Now, I went to system advisory and did a system scan on recommended settings, I pressed 'fix selected' and my Wifi was disabled, I tried everything. I can't get my wifi to work without plugging in my modem directly ot my pc. I noticed my wifi radio was disabled, so I pressed the F2 button but nothing worked. I am trying to re enable my wifi radio / wireless radio connection button but it won't work.
My program intel my wifi utility tells me my wifi is disabled but I can't enable it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to set the default save location folder for downloads in IE8 to the last folder that the same file type was saved in? It makes no sense to default to a single folder and have to browse through to the desired folder for every single download, so I assume there has to be an option somewhere.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer is running windows 7 ultimate. From the last few days I have noticed that my computer does not save changes before shutdown or restart.
Take for example you have placed the recycle bin folder on top-left corner of the desktop which was earlier placed on the bottom-right corner. Then after restarting you would get the recycle bin folder again on the bottom right corner. But if you save something in the disk like a document in Documents folder, then it will still be there at the disk even after restart.
I bought my new computer about 3-4 months ago but the other day it decided to stop saving web history. It will show some pages but not all. If it does save, it will save the initial page but nothing after that. Normally when opening a website, a bar will appear above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that says 'Website found, Waiting for reply...' on the left hand side and 100% on the right, etc., that bar is no longer appearing. I've check the internet options part and the 'delete browsing history on exit' is unchecked. Disk space is set at 250 and days at 20. I'm running windows 7, IE 9.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to add a button that creates a new text document and put it next to the New Folder button in Windows 7, so that clicking it will give me the same result as right-clicking in the folder and choosing New>Text Document.
I have read this page: Add a Custom Command Button to the Windows 7 Explorer Toolbar - Windows 7, Explorer toolbar, FolderTypes, command bar, custom button, RegEdit, registry, jscript, Dan Rollins
and this page: Adding custom buttons to the Explorer command bar winJade
So ive got the button appearing, and i can get it to open the actual program Notepad, but not create a new text document inside the folder. I dont know if its just a variable i need to add onto the command line "c:windowssystem32
otepad.exe", or its a different command altogether..

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this or whether it is a problem with my system but my windows key button seems like it is sticking. Normally, to use windows shortcuts you would do something like windows key+m to minimize all windows. Well what I find is that periodically the key seems to stick and if I type "m", for example, it will minimize all windows. Basically any key I hint will do whatever it is programed to do as a windows shortcut, if that makes sense. I know I can just disable the shortcuts but I was wondering if there was any way to fix this. Currently, when the problem arises I just hit the windows key button and it seems to reset it and everything goes back to normal. I didn't just buy the computer now. I had Vista on it before and never had any problem related to the windows key button.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing a strange (and very frustrating) issue in the last few months in relation to my wireless network profile. At home we recently changed our wireless router. It seems to be working fine on every machine in the house (running everything from XP to OSX to Win 7) except my machine which does the following:On reboot, no matter what, it seem to not want to save the wireless network profile and will continually look for the old wireless network (which I try to delete but seems to re-appear every time) and force me to re-enter the password for the new network. It reverts to the state it was in before the new wireless was picked up, trying to connect to the old network which should be removed.
Today, I tried to run a "clean" start-up. I went into msconfig and under the "services" tab and disabled all services not from Microsoft - This stopped it from reverting and looking for the old network. I got the idea from a thread on the microsoft forums which said to try and locate the service related to the wireless card (I was not able to find mine from the list). As i start to bring the services back in, it puts it back in the state with the old network and does not want to save the new one. One of the services seems to be holding something to stop it from saving in the way it should beIf this helps, this screenshot has all the services (the only one cut off is "Steam Client Service" - Valve corporation which i tested in isolation and did not seem to cause the issue)I've searched this to death and can't find any solution, one of these services seems to be holding it.
Ive been having a problem with my services program. My laptop (vaio) has been having problems with the hot-keys and I found out the problem was that the Vaio Event Service doesnt start when I turn it on so i turn the service on and set the service to start automatically at start-up.

During this time I had that password I did use windows' system image utility to backup my old 500GB drive to restore it on a 1TB drive and I did that while I had this password. Now, when I try to change the password it will not save the change. When I change it, I can logout and it will accept the NEW password, but once I reboot or shut down and it comes back up, it only accepts the OLD password.
