View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having a problem with my memory getting tied up / used up and not being able to access it again until i reboot.
machine: dell xps studio 8100
os: win 7,
processor: i7 2.8
ram: 16gb (max it will take)
video: ati radeon 5700 (running 3 monitors)
versions: as far as i know i am running current versions of everything, including video drivers, flash, chrome, etc. (i've tried running chrome with both the build in version of flash and the system version -haven't seen a difference)
browser: i nearly exclusively run chrome / canary with auto-updates so am at the latest builds.what seems to cause me to use up / run out of memory is after i play videos (Internet, netflix, etc.), the memory seems to get used, but is not returned to the system, even if the browser is closed and re-opened.right now for example things are working fine; i rebooted my system a couple hours ago (but have not played any videos). i have adobe lightroom running, picasa, chrome and canary (currently 4 web browser windows open with 52 tabs open). task manager currently shows me using 8.20gb of ram, that seems pretty reasonable to me.
normally my system will keep running properly (if a program is closed, memory is freed up) right up until i start to play any videos (Internet, netflix, etc.) then it will start using up more memory. (of course i expect it to use more memory during playback) however, even if i restart the browser, the memory does not get freed back up. for example, just prior to the reboot, with everything closed, i was using right around 8gb of ram. once i rebooted, i was using 1.something gb of ram prior to opening any programs.however, once i start playing some videos, i never seem to be able to get my ram freed back up again unless i reboot the whole system. this is not just a problem with how much memory the system shows as being available, i frequently actually run out of memory. (task manager will show me as using around 15gb and then everything starts swapping out like crazy).
I have been having an issue and it is probably the video card issue. When I start a game or a video everything is ok for a while. But after some time video driver crashes (random polygons in 3d games go black and then back to life, flash video freezes) and then I get that my display driver has crashed and recovered or BSOD. I have recently reinstalled my system (it's OEM) but[CODE]

I just got the "No Audio Device is installed" message for the second time, and my Sound, Video, and Game Controller section on my Device Manager pulled a Houdini on me. I can't remember what i did last time to fix it, but I've tried everything that people have suggested on multiple threads concerning this. It was literally working last night as i was listening to music, today when i turned it on it said i had no audio output installed. I have an HP Pavillion dv9500. I upgraded from Vista Home 32-bit to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, but never had a real problem until now. I tried to find the driver on the HP site, but the driver didn't work. I've even tried to restore my computer to a week ago when i got a system update, but it keeps failing. There is also an exclamation mark on the Coprocessor under Other Devices in the device manager.

View 13 Replies View RelatedSo recently i was having a lot of AMD driver issues and crashes while playing Dota 2 and some other games, Now over the past 3 days i have been getting BSOD crashes as well while playing games. This does not happen immediately in games, it appears to be random.I reset all my BIOS settings just in case it was my overclock, but i had another this afternoon afterwards.
System specs:
-Windows 7 home premium x64 (Full retail)
-About 1 year old computer
-OS install about a year as well
I began seeing a blue screen about 5 months ago when I first got my computer, and after posting here with one BSOD report, I was informed of the fact that Avast Virus scanning software could be the culprit. After uninstalling the software, I no longer received the problem. 5 months later, the issue has come back. I've recently installed Fraps and Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5 on my machine. I saw the BSOD appear once again 2 days ago and it seems to appear while streaming video and installing a game. I also see my machine hard-lock while streaming video from time to time, but I think the BSOD does not officially trigger, so hard-locking is the result.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have looked all over the internet for an answer to this problem, but I cannot find one. You see, in my setup menu (or rather the BIOS? I don't really know. The thing that you press F2 for after seeing "acer" or "DELL") there is no video options tab. Just, if I remember correctly, "information, Security, Boot, Exit", and one other thing that shows the time, date, and total RAM. I cannot however highlight total RAM or video RAM (I have about 120 MB of VRAM, 4GB of total). So how do I change shared video memory if there is no video tab? I'm looking to boost performance (even if it's only by a little bit) in games. I'm willing to share more PC info, just ask

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new HD digital camcorder and have purchased 2 @ SDXC memory cards to record on to. Have now noticed a warning in the manual:- "Movies recorded on SDXC cards cannot be imported to or played back on computers not supporting the exFAT file system by connecting the camcorder with the USB cable. Check in advance that the computer is supporting the exFAT system. It further says that if connected to equipment not supporting exFAT and the format screen appears do not perform the the format as all data recorded will be lost."I have read that Windows 7 does support exFAT, but my PC hard drive is formatted NTFS and I gather this is the only option. I am therefore confused - does my PC support exFAT or not? Will I be able to transfer my videos to my PC to edit and and play them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7 64bit, Well I found out that ACT OF WAR cannot be played with windows7 that is over 2 GB of ram. On here I have 6Gigs So I found a solution to this problem by going to my system config,Boot, Advanced options. There I had brought my maximum memory from 6144 which was what it came with to 2000 which it is at now. And I applied it, an restarted my comp, and wonderfully my game worked. Now that I am no longer playing the game I wanted to bring the maximum memory back up to 6144 again. But every time I do change it through the ms config option, it just goes back to 2000 after saving and re-starting the computer. I have tried it 5 times, I select the maximum memory 6144 and save and restart but it kepps on reverting back to 2000 ?So my question is/ Is this a problem? and how can I bring it back up to the original 6144 or 6 gigs of ram ?

This includes clean installs of my drivers, registry edits and even a reformat and fresh installation of Windows 7.I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, with the following (relevant) hardware:
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe
Geforce GTX 580

I've played well over 350 hours of Battlefield 3 without a problem until I reformatted my computer for other, since resolved, issues. After the reformat It just wouldn't work. As previously mentioned I've tried all the common solutions for my issues, starting out assuming it was Battlefield that was causing them.I'm hoping it's not a hardware related issue, but I have a feeling that it might be. I've had this computer (custom built) for just over a year and a half.
