Sep 1, 2012Most of the returns are for solutions for the exact opposite (cursor hidden not showing) The ones that are for my trouble send me to control panel check box that I have checked.
I am using a Logitech G500 mouse, the bloatware (SetPoint) has no cursor "hide" option. Though it does not seem to matter the driver (win 7 ultimate standard system or Logitech) I use.
Seems a trivial issue other than I have a gift for clicking the dialogue box right where I prefer to see a word that the cursor obfuscates.

How can I cleanup/delete all these useless entries? How can I delete ONE single entry manually?
Second question: Assume I want to hide icons and notification for mutiple/all entries (here approx 40 items) in ONE STEP.
Third question: How can I save/backup the current notification settings (for later restore) into a file? Are these notifcation settings stored in a certain branch of the Registry (which exactly) ?
Nvidia Color Control Versus Windows Color Control Settings?
Oct 12, 2010I am trying to set my monitor's screen give accurate renditions of my pictures. I use Quick Gamma to set gamma. When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.

Oct 11, 2009I was told my ram would be 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Corsair or Major Brand, and I downloaded CPU-Z, and this is what I got from it.
it is DDR3, Module Size: 2048 MB, Max Bandwidth: PC3-10700H (667 MHz), Manufacturer: A-Data Technology.
Does this mean that it is not 1333 MHz, i mean it seems so obvious, but I am just checking if I was lied to or not.

May 31, 2011I have a dell lattitude lap top running windows 7. I had picked up a virus that seemed to shake up norton AV. I think I have it settled, but still can not have anyone webex in. Norton did not think this was the virus and suggest I search the OS or whatnot. Before reinstalling Windows 7, is there a program I can run similar to the old scan disk, to check for errors?

May 4, 2012I would like to know if there is a way I can test if a specific port is open on an IP address and if my PC can connect to that port? How do you do this from Command Prompt? 'telnet iport' does not seem to work since it just says 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
I do not want to use a website to do this, since they will test if they can make a connection from their servers to the ip port in question, not if the port between my IP address and the ip in question is open.
I know about NMAP and Netcat, but don't know how that works.
