View 1 RepliesIf you have a laptop and have a problem getting the built in SD / MMC card reader to work then I've found the "generic" one from the Twinhead german site does OK. For X-64 use the Vista driver. Expanding the zip file will give you the 32 and 64 bit drivers.
The most "Generic" drivers seem to come from the F11Y laptop series but choose from other models if this doesn't work.
Most of these drivers are pretty "Generic" so should work with a huge amount of hardware irrespective of your actual model.
HP/DELL/COMPAQ owners are usually pretty lucky as the manufacturers sites are pretty OK. It's when you buy essentially an unknown brand of laptop where you can't find the "manufacturers" site as the laptop is badged under a different name. From the link just click on the Notebook model and get the drivers.
No stupid registration or "Let's scan your computer to see what driver you need" -- and then you are re-directed to a PAY service or more adware nonsense -- I HATE those sites --what if I'm using a different computer to get the driver than the one I install it on.
I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio to Windows 7 and now find that the Pro Magic Gate isn't reading my Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo, Mark 2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 32 bit and I'm having trouble with two out of three of my cardreaders after a new build (ASUS P8P67 Deluxe). The cardreader in my Canon MP960 has worked fine for several years using the same version of Windows in my previous build. Now, the drive shows up with a letter assigned, but the card is not detected when inserted. The same thing happens with my Sony MRW620 internal cardreader. The USB port on the internal reader works so I know it is connected to the MB .One more piece of data: If I plug my six year old SanDisk card reader in to a USB port, it reads my cards just fine.

im on a dell dimesion ive searched dells website to see for a fix but found nothing so before i go out and buy another card reader that is 7 compatable i thought id ask you folks.
it took me a while to find the right driver for my ACR38U card reader, but now I've found and downloaded it, it seems none of the sites that work with it (like tax-on-web) will open. It always says "impossible to open page". I'm new on Windows 7, so I quess it's some to do with "security" in "internet options", but I can't find it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The original installation went just fine, but I never did test to see if transfer speeds were any faster. The instructions specifically mention to install the software first, then the hardware. Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). I never did remove the card. I tried running the software with the hardware already installed. Well, the drives are recognized and all, but the transfer rate between the two drives (one is Seagate 3.0 and one is WD 3.0) is only around 50 MB/sec...USB 2.0 speed, right? So, from what I've been able to find over the past couple of hours is that I can't contact WD about the card. They know nothing, and the product can't be found on their website. In device manager, it's listed as NEC Electronics, and it seems there's been some combination of forces between NEC Electronics and Renesas.
1. I have found updated drivers and firmware for NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 cards, but they are broken down into different models or families. For instance, most of them use a number along the lines of uPD720200/uPD720200A Version 2.1.27 WHQL uPD720201/uPD720202 Version 3.0.8.0 WHQL So, how do I find out what my uPD number is, so that I grab the right files?
2. Do I need to uninstall current drivers/software, remove the card from my PC, install the correct drivers, and then install the card back into my machine (See bit about installation instructions near beginning of post.) OR can I just find the updates and install them without removing the card? If so, do I uninstall the old drivers, or just install the new drivers and firmware over the top of the existing files?
I am unable to find any drivers for this Graphic Card. I am using TOSHIBA SATELLITE M65-S909 laptop and on the Toshiba web page I can download only drivers for Windos XP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tries installing Baldur's gate II, my favorite game, an hour ago and just after it finishes installing it says something along the lines of showing me a DirectX enabled movie just to test my video card.
Whether I click "ok" or "close", it opens the movie anyway in full screen. The screen goes black and I can't do a thing. No ctrl/alt/del - nothing.
I am forced to restart.
What could be causing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried Device Manager in Control Panel, but I'm only given a very generic name. (I just tried to open Device Manager again, but I can't for some reason... I'll edit this shortly.) I tried running dxdiag, and it claims it couldn't find a sound card.
I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium. I was previously using Windows Vista Ultimate.
I'm at home from school, and I didn't feel like bringing my speakers. So, sound would come from my sound card. I reformatted and installed Windows 7 with a headset plugged in, and I'm only able to hear sound through that.
I also hit system lag spikes when playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Sound, during these spikes, becomes a cackling noise. I think I need to update my drivers. If I take out the headset, sound becomes muted because it doesn't recognize my sound card or whatever.
I'm fairly certain I need the stickied Realtek HD drivers (I think I've seen the name before), but I want to confirm.
Ideas?
