View 5 RepliesI have been trying to get my dual monitors working on my Windows 7 machine. It used to work under XP but now with both monitors plugged in, I get no mouse curser on the log in screen, and after logging in, the screen goes blank.
The second monitor (VGA) doesnt even show the POST startup and never gets any input. If I unplug the primary monitor (DVI) the second (VGA) monitor works and vice versa. I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers but no change. Any ideas please anyone?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 580, not very old...everything about it is okay, except the integrated graphics card. Someone recently gave me a GeForce 6600 card, and my GF bought me GW2 in anticipation.
I've got it installed, it seems to be properly seated on the motherboard, and it's connected to the power supply(had to get an adapter to make that work, it's got a 4-pin molex connector and all mine are 15-pin SATA's), but my computer doesn't seem to want to recognize it.
I've been to the GeForce site to try and download drivers, but it says it can't detect any hardware. Likewise, when I'm under Device Manager and I scan for hardware changes, nothing comes up under Display Adapters, it's still just the "Intel(R) HD Graphics" all by its lonesome.
After downgrading Windows 7 from 64bit to 32bit on my Sony Vaio VPCS11C5E I cannot find the correct driver for my graphic card NVIDIA Geforce 310M.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using NVidia GeForce FX 5500 256 MB RAM on my home PC. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate RC and everything worked smoothly including Aero to the highest quality where drivers were from Windows Update. Now, I got licensed Windows 7 Professional. When I update the driver from Windows Update everything works just fine until I shut down the PC and turn it on again. When I do that after OS finishes loading, screen suddenly goes blank. After like 2 minutes, system gives a blue screen and restarts. This time Windows successfully makes it to desktop saying that Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown. When the report is prepared it says something went wrong with the video card drivers. The same thing happens even if I install the latest drivers for Vista directly from nVIDIA website as there is no Windows 7 drivers for FX 5500.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 since beta and now I'm with Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
During BETA I was using just one monitor (Samsung 732NPlus).
Since the final release of Windows 7 I've bought a second monitor (LG W2252TQ).
I'm using them together (Samsung with RGB connector, LG with DVI).
Since the final release I'm having the same problem from time to time: "The graphics card driver stopped and resumed".
During this, my screen freezes black for 1 to 3 secs.
I have already tried the latest BETA from NVIDIA and also the STABLE one.
It's the same with drivers from Windows Update.
I've disabled the option to get drivers from WinUpdate.
Removed all drivers and installed NVIDIA.
Just the same...
Strange is WHEN this happens:
- NOT during gameplay
- NOT every every time
This happens while using Visual Studio (usually coding), Word, Notepad (o.o'') and sometimes while surfing web. Any clues? For now I just can't format my HD again but I'll try this within a month it this error persists.

It has only been a few hours since XFastest have released the new GeForce 185.20 beta drivers, including a new release of Nvidia's PhysX engine 8.11.18.
Yet what's particularly noteworthy is that these new drivers contain an Ambient Occlusion setting that can be set to Low, Medium, High and Off.

Ambient Occlusion adds realism to scenes by reducing the intensity of ambient light on surfaces blocked by surrounding objects. It enhances depth perception by providing a soft shadow effect for objects based on their placement in the scene. This feature is not supported for all applications.

I have a problem with my nVidia drivers. When I first installed Windows 7, I installed the GeForce drivers (big mistake). Then I installed the automatic update of nvidia drivers that Windows 7 downloaded. This lead to problems. I have now unistalled all drivers. Windows then looked for it's own drivers, and said they were installed. However, Aero doesn't seem to be working (all taskbars are gray).
I can't download the drivers from the nVidia site, because for some reason they haven't put the Windows 7 drivers for mobile gfx cards online. I can't download the driver via Automatic Update because Windows seems to think I already installed it. Does anybody know how I can find these drivers?

Be cautioned, this is a beta release that does not originate from NVIDIA's website, and is not guaranteed.
These drivers are VERY BETA, use at your own risk!
However, I have noticed a slight increase in performance (Versus the 186.18 Drivers) in the Crysis Benchmark as well as the Counter-Strike: Source stress test.
I haven't tried 3DMark or any of that jazz yet.

There's a new NVIDIA GeForce driver out on the loose and it's in fact the first series 190 driver ever. This is Forceware 190.15 The driver is available for Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit and for Windows XP 32-bit flavor is available.
Very little is known about this driver but we need to that the original .inf file shows it was targeted at Quadro cards. We replaced the index with a modified .inf files (courtesy of laptopvideo2go) making the driver compatible with all current GeForce cards.
Interesting is that the Vista / Win 7 drivers also contact 3D Stereo drivers revision 190.15, look inside the archive to spot that yourself.
These drivers are to be considered very beta and thus treated as such. You install them at your own risk, don't complain to us or NVIDIA if they do not work out for you.
