Jun 9, 2012I just realized that Canon didn't update their driver for my CanoScan Lide 50 Scanner for Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to find a work around and came across an article that said the CanoScan Lide 60 driver works..ersAndSoftwareBut the folder I got with 7-Zip didn't have the file in it that it said it should, so I tried to just install it directly.Windows flashed a popup asking for permission to install, right over where it said where it would be installed, and when I clicked OK, that other window disappeared. Now I can't find where it's installed.The article explained that I have to manually update the driver. I found the scanner in the device manager, but since I can't find the driver anywhere, I'm stumped. I wouldn't even be able to uninstall it

Sep 29, 2012I have been having trouble connecting mypc to my xobox slim. I have been through the network setting, all match up. the xbox can connect to live, it just won't connect to my pc. i allow all conection and turn off a/v and firewall still with no luck. i even tried connect them through ethernet wire, again no luck. i know my pc can connect to a xbox ( old white big guy) both wireless and wire, but i am having no luck with my xbox slim. and yes i have reset all extender stuff on pc and reet pc connection stuff through my xbox. the a/v i have is microsoft secrity esentals.

OS is win7 starter after connecting the drive through USB port, PnP installs hardware and when i go to "computer" it "sees" the drive (until i insert a disk and close the drawer) when i insert the installation disk that came with my unit, the drive is unable
to read the disk. it just sits there making whirling noises, the green light blinks off and on and the drive icon that normally appears when i open "computer", disappears whenever i close the drive with a disk in it. the drive icon will occassionaly appear briefly and then disappear again. is this a driver/firmware issue or a "win7 does not support " issue.

Jan 2, 2012Header says it all--and yes I've searched here and despite similar (exact?) thread topics being closed as "solved" none of the "solutions" worked for me.Windows 7 64bit, Adaptec 29160 SCSI card (which device manager does not recognize), scanner shows there as "HP C2520A SCSI Processor Device."ried VueScan and it claims no scanner is installed.When I click on the scanner in device manager and try to install the drivers I got from HP (presumably for Windows 7 64bit) it says it can't find them.When I try to install them manually by left clicking the .inf file, I get the ole "the inf file you selected does not support this method of installation."On most forums the responses run the gamut of idiocy, commonest being "why don't you throw that elegant machine away and buy one of these late-model pieces of junk that are supported by windows 7."
