View 1 RepliesI have used my PC (Acer aspire 5810TZG -Windows 7) to place some video on the DVD-RW. It plays ok on the PC but not on a DVD player (I had chosen the burn option where the intention was to mainly play it on a DVD player). I thought the problem might be that the disc needed to be finalized but there is no option to do that on the DVD drive options menu. I read that I need to go to "Start" - "Computer" - Highlight DVD drive click on "complete the session" (on toolbar). No such wording appears on my screen!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just burned a DVD and there is no close session option available, in the global settings its set to close session when disc is ejected, but after it burned I can still add files to it.
On the toolbar the only options are to Organize and Burn to disc. When I right click the DVD from My Computer there is no option to close the session, but I can burn to disc and format. Just to be clear the files ARE burnt already, they are not waiting to be written. My DVD burner is a "PIONEER DVDRW DVR-K17B ATA Device" on a HP Pavillion dv6000. Also every time I open a writing session a hidden file named "desktop" appears and is waiting to be written, I forgot the filetype but when opened with notepad it reads
Why my HP G62 with a DVD drive will format CD-RW but not DVD-RW, and if so could they please tell me how to get it to do so? I got the title wrong - it should read format not finalize. I'm brand new to the forum and to computing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm searching and searching for a free / opensource program that can convert most video formats (MOV, WMV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 etc) to H.264 or vise versa. And with such options as data rate of 2000 / 5000 kbps but not limited to only that option.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a video editor that can split the video into parts (preferably free). Most of my vidoes are in the .wmv format and sizes range from a few mb up to 4 gb. In most circumstances, it would be used to remove the beginning and end of the video.

I recently installed Skype on Win 8 and my video shows a black screen. However in Win 7 my Skype video shows whole environment clearly (no black screen).

just sits there with a little circle-du going round and round. In IE It will play the commercial then give me a black screen. I have tried to get help from TWC but they never reply. This problem started when they "upgraded" their video player.TWC videos work fine on XP but I prefer to only use XP for gaming. I have updated to the latest flash player.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWere dealing with a Toshiba Satelite L455D-S5976 running windows 7 home premium. The issue in detail.Ran unspecified windows updates that required a reboot. On reboot I have bios, I have windows logo and animation, and just as the windows should be displaying the desktop the screen goes a sort of very bright black.I can toggle the caps lock lights on and off. I have tried to boot into safe mode but it does the exact same thing.I have tried last known good configuration but it does the same thing.I have tried hooking an external monitor to the VGA out and it does the same thing.I have tried to use the function keys to toggle brightness up, switch the video from LCD to VGA, been in the bios and reset factory defaults. All which end in exactly the same results, a sort of brightly lit black screen. As far as I can tell, windows is actually booted up. I just can't see it.I can't blame the LCD panel or the inverter because I have perfect brightness in bios, and the windows boot logo looks fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell I read somewhere that my laptop has a video-card connected to the motherboard so I cant replace it with a better one, and since I don't have the money to buy a new computer all-together I thought maybe someone tech-savey kind person could help me make my current video-card work better. Anyway I recently read somewhere that the main reason why my Video-card is so cr@ppy is becuase it has very low dedicated video ram(128mb to be exact) and I think that is extremely low for a laptop bought in 2009, and there should be a way to raise it. View 4 Replies View RelatedI get no video either in Media Center or Media Player. I do get the audio however. Right now I'm using VLC for my dvd playback. I like the zoom in Media Center though.
Anyone ever had this problem. I'm using 64-bit windows 7.
Just installed 7 on an older machine, and it is running great but something is wrong with WMC video playback. I also have a TV tuner card, and am able to watch live TV with WinTv7, and able to watch videos in it as well as WMP. But when I try to watch Live TV, or Videos in WMC 7 I get the following error:
" VIDEO ERROR - Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Media Center and/or restart the computer.
Any suggestions?
I just connected my DV camera to Win 7 and discovered that the only format that Win 7's Import Video utility will import to is AVI. There does not appear to be any format option other than AVI (which are HUGE). What happened to WMV? It was there in Vista?
