View 1 RepliesI have a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop and stuck windows 7 RTM 32 bit on it. All was well but now connecting wirelessly is slow. Like slower then 56k modem slow. I have a Dell 802.11n wireless mini card installed that works PERFECTLY under windows XP. I was getting 80 % signal strength under Win 7 and getting 1 mbps where as in XP I was getting 78 to 100 mbps with the same signal strength. Oh and ethernet works perfectly fine.
For a time I was able to download the corresponding vista driver from dell and then replace the driver that win 7 automatically installs for it, then flipped the card switch off and on and it would work like it should for a while, but then reverted to the same slow network speeds once the laptop was reset or turned off and on. Now flipping the switch or re-installing doesn't work either. I've tried resetting the router, no go and none of my other computers or products have a problem with it. I've tried doing a few things suggested in other posts, like assigning a static ip, disabling ipv6, etc... Nothing has worked.
I'd love someone who knows what it may be or has heard of this precise problem, although I think I may be stuck waiting until Win 7 makes it debut in Oct and until Dell releases a proper 7 driver for it.
Laptop: Dell Inspiron 1520
Wireless Card: Dell brand mini draft 802.11n card
Router: DLink DGL-4500 draft 802.11n
Windows 7 32bit RTM
I have a wireless connection from a Win 7 Pc to a XP printer (HP 1006). I can print from the XP to the Hp P1006, easily. But from the Win 7, it takes from 30 to 60 seconds. I think I need a Win 7 printer driver, but where do I put it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a new usb dongle, 802.11N to try and speed up my net a bit.I have a 40Meg BT Infininty connection at the socket and my previous usb dongle (g) could get me about 25Meg. So I tried my new one and it's not too cool (0.5meg max).In my network properties the speed to the router is listed about tx 150mbps and rx 150mbps. I have tried a few things I have read in other threads, but am stumped tbh
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my friend's Toshiba laptop, when we connect to the router using a LAN cable, the download speed is around 15 Mb/s. When we connect wirelessly, the download speed is about 1 Mb/s, although sometimes it goes as high as 4 Mb/s. I've already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the wireless driver.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP laptop thats about a year old now. It was running great at school and when i got home my family decided to purchase a N route. We set it up with the security (pain in the ass) and everything seemed to be fine. About a day later my laptop takes close to 20 minutes to download a 5mb song. It can take almost a full minute or two to open a page such as this or one with pictures on it. Yet when i go on my brothers laptop or use the hardwire, the connection is blazing fast.

When i connect into the network sometimes my PC create other "network-name2" or "unidentified" network and then i don't have internet :/ Wireless card very slow identifying connections other times all thinks going verry good 1-2hours. I guess this is problem with windows 7, because when I reinstall my OS, few months everything is going well and boom... problems from nothing. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a broadcom 802.11g PCI wireless card but recently it is giving me a slow connection when on a full bar signal. I then randomly goes back to running at normal speed but then cut out again and goes slow. There is nothing wrong with the connection as it works totally fine on my laptop. I tried a USB wifi adapter at that works fine giving me a fast connection. I been inside the router to make sure all the setting are fine and searched for driver updates etc. I don't think the card is damaged in anyway. I really have no idea why it is giving me such slow internet speeds but then occasionally work fine
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy wireless connection on dell inspiron 1545 is too slow at 7 or 8 mbps. BT infinity technician checked the line and the speed on his laptop was showing 60mbps with Ethernet cable and 54 with wireless. I tried another laptop it works fine at 50 mbps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's been some time since my Dell XPS M1530 laptop has been having Internet issues when connected via Wireless. It currently sports an Intel 4965 AGN ard with Windows 7/8 pre-installed drivers and is connecting wirelessly to a Thomson router. It connects smoothly, but its reception of packages sucks: I can't connect to FTP, load pages at all, and downloads are around 8 kB/s. (Max should be 250 kB/s). Whereas other laptops are able to load pages normallyAll cords are correctly connected, and I don't believe the card is the one malfunctioning since I can connect to other routers flawlessly.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi just brought this belkin wireless usb adapter N150 and it is giving me slow download speed. I checked on Speedtest.net and it gives me 0.20 mbps. It is not going to the max speed my max is 3.00 mbps it is not the wireless usb adapter because i checked on another computer and it went to the max 3.00 mbps and i putted it in the same location as my computer so than i realised that it was my computer that is giving slow download speed and it can't find much connections so i tryed it on another computer and it found heaps of connections any idea how to fix this? Plus the signal is excellent. I think there some thing inside my computer that is preventing it from finding lots of connections and making it have slow speed? Maybe it the hard drive im not sure . i just started using wireless i used cable before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been working on an Emachines E627 with Win7 and have noticed my wireless speeds around around 10x slower than on dell laptop running XP. I have verified the slower speed using speedtest.net, also I have updated the driver for Atheros AR5B95 Wireless Network Adapter and the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter (which I have no idea what this one does as I disabled it and nothing changed???) and the Atheros ethernet controller just for fun.
I have also port forwarded the win7 and xp machine on my router but still receive slow speed on the win 7 machine. I am beginning to think that maybe the Atheros wireless adapter sucks? Also another thing the adaptor connection speed states 150 mbps where I am used to seeing the standard 54 mpbs. I am at a loss to what else I can change to speed the win 7 machine up to the speeds I get on my xp machine.....or does the atheros adapter just plain suck? I have turned off any power consumption savers for the adapter as well.
I purchased a new laptop, and have been having numerous issues with windows 7, including the wireless internet being insanely slow. I've tried other wireless adapters to no avail, and every other computer in the house, be it wireless, or not runs perfectly, with the speed tests all running about the same, while this laptop runs at about 1/4 of the speed. I can only assume it's some sort windows settings, and not anything to do with the ISP or the router because of such.To add, and I don't know if this will be of any use, but while doing regular browsing, the speeds are fine, you can't really notice a slowdown. But when viewing videos or downloads, it tanks. I've noticed my download speeds start out, and stay at their max speed (about 1.1MBps) for say 5 seconds, only to sink to about 250-300KBps for the remainder.

I'm having an issue with installing the driver for my Ralink Turbo Wireless PCI Card.
I'm dual booting Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) on a seperated partition from Windows XP Professional.
The card appears in Device Manager as an unknown network device located on PCI slot 1, which is correct. Obviously, because I'm not connected to the internet via wireless for Windows 7, I can't use Live Update to find drivers for it.
From the Ralink website, I found an installation for Windows 7, however once the program has been run, no driver is installed for the card. I've tried installing multiple Ralink drivers from the built in ones that Windows 7 contains, but all of them fail to install for an unknown reason.
Just wondering, does anyone have any information that may benefit me?
I've just recently installed Windows 7 on my desktop PC, upgrading from XP and most of the things had ran smoothly, accept for my network driver.
The network won't recognize my internet signal, and because of this i cant update anything directly from my PC.
I have found a download for a new driver, but it seems the compatibility only goes up until Windows XP, Is this fixable?
Additional Information: I cannot connect my computer directly up to my modem, as the LAN connection in my PC seems to be missing (I'm suspecting it's because of my old motherboard)
I'm sure the problem is only with the drivers compatibility with Windows 7.
Does anyone know if thare is a Dynex wirless g driver that works with build 7000 64 bit? The driver on the disk says it doesen't work with 64 bit and the one I downloaded from the link below installs but nothing happens when I try to run it and it says it is running in the processes tab in task manager though.
I've tried installing it in compatiblity mode and runing it in compatability mode with no luck.

I got a new desktop recently which came with windows 7, my old desktop had windows vista.
I have a Belkin N Wireless Model : F5D8053 v3

So my lappy is working absolutely fine and the software is installing on my desktop but it still cannot find a connection!
I have made a thread earlier with some SS. Unfornunately i forgot to submit my thread so here I am. I am not at home but I would like to ask about my wireless lan driver. I just recently installed windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite U500. It's original OS is Windows Vista. At the first day that I changed to windows 7, Everything is working perfectly. But the second day, My Wireless lan Driver is not working. I have my WiFi on but whenever i troubleshoot it, it says connect an ethernet cable, and it says something is broken..

Drivers are available only for Vista. Hopefully vista drivers will have to work with Windows 7.
Try installing Vista Drivers.
Answer 2:-
Only two types of chips used in your model for networking, Marvell & realtek
1.Check the User manual, if yours is using marvell, get the Marvell part number from your user manual & Download latest driver directly from here, by selecting your OS (63 bit/32bit)

2. If yours is having realtek chip, get the chip no. from your user manual & Download the drivers from here.

View 2 Replies View Related(Problem 1)I've lost the driver after restart,
(Problem 2)got really annoyed with the cursor rings
(Problem 3)and experienced slow pen action.
Working for severeral days with these issues, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting preferenses for the wacom intous 3 tablet, delaying the wacom driver load... and so on.., did not help that much. Nothing I tried worked out completely perfect. Therefore I made a decision to follow the procedure below, - to solve all of the problems mentioned, and it's working!I write this to hopefully spare some people the unnecessary time and frustrations with these problems. Win 7 are equipped with software for Tablets PC's, which's interferring/messing up the wacom tablet driver.(The lost driver)I was thinking; do I need the Tablet PC in Win 7? Answer: No! I have a Notebook. But it didn`t work out just to disable the Tablet PC in "Computer management, Services." (Right click on My Computer, Manage, Services And Applications, Services)is drastic and pretty time consuming, but for me absolute necessary for a permanent fix.I saved all my settings and files, reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 and all the programs.
I followed this algoritm:Reinstalled Windows 7 First: I did not plug in the wacom tablet, and did not install the wacom drivers at this point.Installed all my programs EXCEPT Wacom drivers, did all the updates for windows and my programs except anything regarding the wacom tablet (The cursor rings)cursor rings from the pen following this article: Configuring Windows 7 and your Pressure-Sensitive tablet to avoid cursor(The driver)Restarted the computer Disabled the Tablet PC in "Computer management, Services," because I don`t need this application at all. (Double click on "Tablet PC" or right click / properties, disabling)Restarted the computer to be safe, but I could possibly just stop the service Now, I installed the wacom driver, making sure I installed the driver BEFORE plugging the tablet. I used the current driver version Wacom pro615-3a_int.exe.Then I checked to see if there was any windows update to my wacom tablet, (control panel, windows updates) but there wasn`t any. If there would be one, I will make sure to disable it, because I don`t want Microsoft to mess with my tablet!(The slow pen action)I changed the settings in Control panel for Pen and Touch:Selected the Flics tab and
- deselected "Use Flicks to perform common actions quickly and easily"
- deselected "Display flicks icon in the notifications area"Selected the Handwriting tab and
- Selected "Don`t use automatic learning, and delete any previously collected data"Hitted the OK button. (These settings will only slow down the pen action, despite what it says)
I have to critiscize The Microsofts, as said - giving me severeal days with frustration and destroyed productivity?
I bought this Fujitsu laptop for less than a year. Its only for my school work. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing. For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.
