Create The "show The Desktop" Icon On The Taskbar?
Jul 1, 2011My new Windows 7 laptop came without shortcuts to IE on either the desktop or the taskbar. I can't find the IE execute file so I can create my own. Along the same path, how to I create the "show the desktop" icon on the taskbar?

I use the 'desktop' feature on the taskbar and have multiple rows of icons and I would like to be able to organise icons into the second etc row before having filled up the first row, or place them on the right hand side without having filled all the space in between. Basically I want to place an icon where I want it and have it stay right there not slide over.

Some websites have very annoying music or 'announcements' so I like to switch the sound off - now I can't without going via Control Panel.I have looked in Control panel and found System Icons - and the Sound label is shown as OFF. Then today I unpinned Firefox from there because I wanted to change the icon I was using. After deciding I didn't like it I tried to go back to the one I was using but when I pinned it back to the task bar this problem occurred:As you can see when I click on the silver Firefox icon, it opens up a new firefox icon (default icon) in a separate place, taking up unnecessary space. I can't figure out how to make it go back to the way it was where everything stayed within the silver icon.

Mar 24, 2012I reinstalled a Windows 7 OS, and now the volume icon has disappeared from the taskbar. The only way I can adjust the volume is to go into Control Panel. I found the "turn system icons on or off" window, and although the volume icon says "show icon and notifications," it's not on the taskbar, so I don't know what more to do.

I have so many of them and my taskbar have already two rows and sometimes when I open programs or whatever else that is NOT included as a shortcut button on the taskbar, it takes extra space at which point the taskbar becomes scrollable with 3 rows. Not a good thing. I hate it with a passion. Yes I could make my task bar with 3 rows, but no, I don't like to waste my precious screen space.
